Hawaii Day 18 - Waimea, Matsumotos, Pipeline

Today is Sam's birthday so she got to choose everything we did today. It was also Ashlee, Alli, and Sam's last day in Hawaii. They are flying home right now. The first thing Sam wanted to do was go to Waimea. We left around 8, hoping we would be able to park in their tiny lot, and we lucked out and found a few! As we were walking through the parking lot it looked like all the spots were getting filled up.
Jack, Kenzie, and Nati went right up to the tall cliff, but none of them jumped then. They just climbed back down.

This is where they would climb up and down.

Kenzie and Nati swam out to the littler rock to jump off it.

Kenzie loved jumping off.

Kenna, Sam, and Alli jumped off the big rock with no problem. They had done it Friday, and still had no fear.

The water they jump into is only 6-7ft deep so they had to be careful not to crash hard into the bottom.

Sam and Kenna joined them on the smaller rock. The water over there is deeper so Sam liked to dive in and do tricks.

Nati really wanted to jump off, but was also scared. She kept almost jumping, and then backing away. She eventually did jump. She was so brave!

Jack jumping.

Kenzie jumping again. When she saw this picture she thought it looked like she was running on the water.

Coleman jumped a few times, but also just liked floating in the water watching everyone else jump.

Kenzie

Coleman jumping. On his first jump as soon as he came out of the water he threw if hands up in the air in celebration. I love his excitement for everything!

Sam again.

Waimea is so beautiful!

The water is so calm.

Doug told he wasn't going to jump, then next thing I knew he was telling Jack "Let's both go jump!" So they did. I didn't get pictures of the jump because I was videoing it. They both did great, and Doug dabbed during his :)

I knew Kenzie kind of wanted to jump so I told her Doug and Jackson were going. She ran off after them.

Jackson about to jump.

Doug and Jackson swimming back to shore.

Kenzie just went to the edge and jumped. She didn't hesitate or anything. He face was pretty scared looking when she first came out of the water, but as she swam to shore it turned to excitement and pure joy.

Kenzie excitedly ran up to the rest of the family and told them she jumped. They saw how happy she was and said go do it again so we could see. But she froze this time when she was up there. She stayed up there for probably 10-15 minutes, but couldn't work up the courage to jump again. Alli went up to try to help her, but it didn't work. The rest of us watching her were worried she was going to slip because she kept moving around right at the edge of the rock. She was disappointed she didn't do it again, and really wanted everyone to watch the video of her jumping so they would know that she really did jump. She didn't think they believed her :) We all assured her everyone knew she really did jump and I showed them the video tonight.

Doug took some of the kids "goggling" (since they didn't have any snorkels it was just goggling).

I forgot my phone when we were at Matsumotos, but was got snow cones and Munchies and candy and it was all delicious as always. They was also pretty much no line, which was great.

Then we went to Pipeline. Most of the kids got in the water and loved playing in the big waves.

After eating Dominoes for dinner Sam opened her presents. It was great day celebrating her. She is so fun and hilarious. I'm glad she's in our family!

We had three twinners tonight.

It was a great day, with a sad ending since Sam, Alli, and Ash had to leave. We will miss them all the rest of the trip. But we also know they will have a great time at Girls' Camp:)

Hawaii Day 17 - Makapuʻu

Sunday after church and lunch we went to Makapu'u to watch the waves and take pictures. It is so beautiful there!

Michelle and Ashlee stopped on the way home from church to take a few pictures:
These three look so cute in their matching dresses.

Makapu'u

Once we turned towards the sun it was hard for the kids to smile without blocking their eyes or looking away.

Coleman had an especially hard time.

Coleman's expression makes me laugh!

The water snuck up on them.

Kenzie wanted me to take lots of pictures of her.

I love watching the big waves crash on the rocks.

The kids looked for shells and sea glass.

Coleman looks way to old in this picture.

Konrad let Jordan and Coleman fly his drone.

Kenzie wanted a picture of her with a big wave behind her, but she was nervous the water would reach her.

She could tell a big wave just hit the rocks.

She decided to go find a new spot.

It finally got her legs :)

They were laughing at how close I got to Kenzie when taking her picture, so I took one of them up close too:)

That night we played Code Names. The kids played  together and the adults played together. It's such a fun game!

The men won 3 out of four games. Michelle was the only clue giver for the girls that won. We almost won when I was giving clues too. Michelle said both the words I was trying to get them to choose, but then they ended up going with other ones. I love this game!
