Cute Pictures

A few weeks ago I went with my sister to my favorite community garage sale. Neither of us got much stuff this year and I came home wishing I had found more of what I wanted and needed (like boys shoes... my poor children have been having tight church shoes for the last month or so waiting for garage sale season and I didn't find any shoes for them. Luckily my sister found some for me last week so they now have happy feet.) But I did find this cute apron for Jordan. He loves helping me cook and occasionally asks if he can wear one of my aprons so I thought he'd love his own. He hasn't used it much. But he also hasn't been helping me cook as much lately since most things I make are on the stove these days and I don't let him help with that stuff.

Mackenzie loves climbing on the table when we forget to push are chairs in. She especially loves to find some left over snacks on her tray and eat them while sitting on the table.

We watched my sister's kids last Friday to Saturday and Kenzie enjoyed playing with them and their pillow pets. I think the unicorn one she's holding was her favorite.

Doug took this picture. He said that Jack had finished his snack and so Doug let him play a game on his phone. Then Keznie and Jordan finished their snacks and after Doug cleaned up he found them sitting like this on the couch. Aren't they cute?

Just another cute picture of Mackenzie.

Popcorn Popping

I've been trying for a couple days to get a cute movie of Jordan to upload on here, but blogger is just not letting it happen. So for now, you'll just have to click on this link and watch it that way. I highly suggest you take the time to watch it. It's pretty funny.

More from Jordan

Recently Jordan was talking about the baby and he asked if after the baby was born if we were going to give back Kenzie. I guess he thinks one baby is enough for our house. I told him we liked Kenzie so we're going to keep her :)

Baby Brother

Today I asked Jordan what we should name his baby brother and listed off a bunch of names that he said no to until I said Mike. He thinks we should name him Mike. I told him we'd probably go with another name, and he got a little upset and said he liked the name he said he liked (he couldn't remember what the name actually was.) So I asked him if he knew someone named Mike and he said "Yeah, my baby brother." It was pretty funny.

Awhile ago Jackson had said we should name the baby Mikey. I think he came up with the name by himself, but I don't know where. I don't think either boy knows any Mikes or Mikeys. Maybe that is just what the baby's name is supposed to be...

20 Month Old Kenzie

Here are some things about Kenzie:

She talks really well. She can say a lot of words and occasionally puts 2 words together.

She calls Jackson Jacky.

She says oops a lot.

She can say I love you mama.

If we ask her to say I love you to someone else she usually still says I love you mama. I love it :)

She loves Dora and Thomas the Train.

She calls trains choo-choos.

She loves nursery. Jordan still tells us most weeks that he protects Kenzie from the mean kids.

She loves having books read to her.

She likes eating fruits, some vegetables, cereal, and treats.

She loves taking her shoes off in the car.

She says yeah to most anything you ask her.

She grunts a lot when you do something she doesn't want you to.

She tries to speak in sentences, but most of the words aren't understandable.

She loves playing outside.

She likes me to put shoes on her.

She likes playing with her brothers and following them around.

She doesn't like to sit still and be quiet.

We've been having her say prayers for the last few weeks with our help. This last week she started saying things on her own though. She says (in her own way... we mostly understand the last word) Thanks for this day. Then she looks around at everyone and starts saying thanks for them. So she says thanks for Jacky, thanks for Jordy, thanks for dada, thanks for mama. We had my sister's kids here Friday night and so she was saying thanks for them too. And she'll keep repeating the names until we help her end it. I always want it to be her turn to pray because I love it.

She's cute.

5 Year Old Jackson

Here are some things about Jack:

He loves sports. He loves playing them, watching them, and playing Wii sports games. Basketball and baseball are his favorite sports. He's very competitive and we often have to remind him to be nice when he's playing and not talk about how good he is or if he's winning.

He loves playing the Wii. His favorite game right now is Mario Sports Mix. Pretty much anytime Doug is home he asks to play.

He loves reading. He is really good at it. He even read a book to his preschool class since Miss Ashlee couldn't stop coughing.

He's not excited for kindergarten next year.

He's good at helping Kenzie. He puts her shoes on her for me sometimes, which is very helpful.

He love playing the leapster.

He gave a talk last week in primary and apparently really enjoyed it. Doug said Jack told him that he wants to give a talk every week. He told me today on the way to church that he wishes he could give a talk in Sacrament. I told him that he'll be able to in October or November for his primary program since they asked if he could give the talk he just gave last week for it.

One day in primary a couple months ago, the teacher asked why a baby was holding on to his parents in a picture that she was showing and Jackson said it was so the baby wouldn't blow away in the wind. He was completely serious.

He loves to eat whatever we want for dinner, which really means cereal or waffles. He wishes we could eat the everyday.

He loves wearing shorts and summer clothes.

Here are some things he says about himself:

I like going to Hawaii.

I like to play basketball at home.

I like to go to parks when it's warm and when it's summer. (although he complains about the brightness of the sun a lot)

I like to play with daddy.

I like to eat cereal at breakfast.

I like to eat Rice Krispies and I like to eat Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

At lunch time I like to eat Mac and Cheese with ketchup on it.

I like to go to places.

My favorite place is Chuck E. Cheese's.

I like to go to the beach.

I like to play with mommy.

I like to help mommy.

I like to help daddy too.

Jack's Birthday!

Jackson turned 5 on Friday. He was so excited for his birthday and loved every minute of it.
Last picture as a 4 year old.

Jackson's first surprise was a note we left him to find in the morning when he got up. It told him that he could play the Wii until breakfast. He was so excited to be able to do that. He was also happy to get to wear his birthday crown he got at preschool.

Jordan was happy to play the Leapster.

After breakfast we went to Chuck E. Cheese. Jack loves that place. It was nice to go when there weren't very many people there.

Isn't he so cute? He was so excited to be able to wear summer clothes :)

There's a dancing place that has a camera in front of it so you can watch yourself when dancing. The boys have never done it before so I showed it to them when we were there and they loved it. They were pretty funny to watch. I videoed them during some of it.

After Chuck E. Cheese we came home and spent the afternoon at home.

Jordan spent most of the time cleaning up the huge mess he made that morning. I was upstairs getting reading while the kids were finished up breakfast when Jack came and told me Jordan did something very bad. He said he dumped out 2 cereal boxes onto Mackenzie's tray and she started pushing them onto the ground. It was a huge mess and I wasn't very happy. So I made him pick up all the cereal from the ground. If he would have worked without stopping so much he could have done it quickly. But like most things he does, he dragged the process out so it took a really long time.

Jack played the Wii again.

Then we decorated the cupcakes. It was fun having the boys help with that this year instead if me just doing it.

Jordan with one of the cupcakes he decorated.

Both the boys.

Jack moved all the presents off the table onto the floor. He likes traditions. We always have the presents on the floor in front of the fireplace, so that's where he wanted them, not on the table. He also said he wanted to open presents before eating cake because that's what we always do :)

Jack wanted a rocketship cake.

We had extra batter so we made a J cake too.

We went with my parents and the Crabtrees to McDonald's for dinner, then to glow golf, then back to our house for presents and cake.

Jack was happy to get a Happy Meal.

Jack glow golfing.

Jackson before opening his presents. He was so funny while opening his presents. He was really excited about all them and kept saying really funny things.

He was pretty excited to get Mariocart for the DS, but I think he thought he was getting a DS so he was a little disappointed that he was just going to be playing it on Doug's.

Reading the card from Jordan.

So excited for some bikes from grandma and grandpa.

The only thing he actually said he wanted was this Batman Trio Block set. When he opened it he was so surprised and said excitedly something like: "You got me what I just wanted?"

Cute Kenzie

He was really excited for this magic wand.

After some persuasion he started doing some magic tricks and was really excited when they were actually working. He made everyone make a funny face. It was pretty funny. After everyone made a funny face he magically made it cake time.

Then he said a spell to make the candles light up.

Everyone singing to him.

One of candles wouldn't blow out. So he decided to try using some magic.

But by the time he said he was going to do the spell and try to blow it out again one of his cousins blew it out. So he wanted us to relight it so he could try again. We did and he did his spell and blew it out.

Here I think he's saying "Actually, I'm all done."

The kids at the party.

Ashlee and Konrad with my mom in the background.

Jackson wanted to say a spell when I took a picture of my parents. We didn't know what he was going to say until he actually said it. He had them smile really good. Ashlee told him to have them kiss for the picture and he ran away and said nooooo! :)

The last activity of the night was trying on some of his clothes. He was very excited to get some summer clothes. I love my 5 year old!

In the Sun

We've been having sunny days a little more often the last few weeks. Last Tuesday was one of those days. After the kids and I got home from playing at the park they were starving so they had a snack outsidee After a little bit I looked outside and the chairs they had been sitting on were gone and I couldn't see Jordan or Kenzie. Jackson had come inside to tell me they moved the chairs to be in a warmer spot in the sun. This is how I found them a few minutes later:

There was about a 3ft by 1.5 ft area of sunshine in the backyard and that's where there were sitting.

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day. I love being a mom.

Jack and I at his Mother's Day tea party. He made me the necklace I'm wearing. He also made a dish towel with his hand print on it and wrote "I love you love Jackson" on it.

Jackson also made me a picture. And my family gave me a toaster, which I love. It works so well and cooks our waffles so much faster.

Doug must have taken this picture because I don't remember it, but I think Jordan looks cute even though he looks so sad (he's in time out).
