Family Favorite

We tried a new recipe awhile ago that we all love. We eat it pretty often and would probably be fine eating it even more often. It's so good I think everyone should try it. So here's the link to the recipe:

You should make it tonight. Or tomorrow if you've already eaten. You won't be sorry. :)

About the Kids...

Kenzie calls the things she's playing with stuff a lot. She often says things like "make sure Colie doesn't get my stuff," and "But Colie's going to get my stuff." It always makes me laugh.

Coleman has been talking a lot more lately. It seems like he was barely saying anything a month ago, but now he has quite a few words he can say. Here's the ones I can remember: mama, mommy, dada, Jack, Kenzie, Jordan, ball, moon, night-night, car, uh-oh, thank you, up, down, cookie, water, milk, yeah, no, oatmeal, waffle, Diego, ahh man, eat, book, clean up, love you, hi, pizza, drink, binky, wow, nose, ear.

Up and cookie are 2 of my favorites that he says. Up because he put his little hands up towards me and opens and closes them while saying "up, up, up." And cookie because he just says it really cute :)

Coleman loves Ring Around the Rosie. Sometimes he'll just go up to one of the other kids and try to grab their hands to play it with them. Or he'll be sitting down and start hitting the ground for the "Cows in the meadow" part of the song.

We were playing Hide and Seek and Jack was looking for Jordan and Kenzie and Coleman was following him. Jack kept opening the cupboards and saying no, then closing them. Coleman started doing it too. It was really cute :)

Kenzie says "real quick" to me whenever she wants me to do something that I don't want to do. "Come look in the basement. Real quick"

Jackson loves holidays. He also loves making things for holidays. For Valentines' day he started working on making valentines for each member of the family last week. He puts his own candy in them. He asked me last week "have you started on your valetines yet?" After I said no, he said "I have. That's what I was doing all day." He's a sweet boy :)

I've been working on the articles of faith with the boys during homeschool. Jordan was saying the 4th one and he added at the end "5th, I love you." He said he just wanted to add that part.

Doug told Jordan that he was happy he's in our family, and Jordan said "Why? Because when people are lonely I come and be with them?"

Haircut for Kenzie

Kenzie's hair was getting really long and stringy and seemed to be always tangly because she was always getting food in it. I've been wanting to get her hair cut short, but I didn't know how'd she do going to a hair salon to get it cut, since my sister is the only person that has cut it. I asked Kenzie last week if she wanted to go get it cut and she said yes. I kind of explained what would happen and she still wanted to do it. Doug was home sick, so I left the boys and took her to get her hair cut.

Here's the before pictures.

After this picture I asked Jordan if he held up one finger because he's one. He said no and wanted to take another picture...

4 and half years old (he's holding half his thumb up:))

Jackson wasn't into the picture taking like the other 2 were. :)

Kenzie got really nervous when we were there. She looked like she didn't want to do this anymore. But the hair stylist was really nice and soon Kenzie was doing great and started smiling. She only said 2 things during the haircut despite the hair stylist's attempt to get her to talk. Kenzie's really good at ignoring people. The 2 things she said were yes and no. Yes, to weather or not she wanted candy and no to if she was a princess for Halloween. She was pretty cute during the haircut. She held still most of the time. Sometimes she wanted to peak over at me during it. She also kept shrugging her shoulders and smiling big. The haircut took quite awhile, which she was okay with because she got 2 suckers out of it.

After:

Isn't she so cute? I love her haircut. It's so much easier to work with and looks so much better. She loves it too.

Basketball

Jackson has been playing basketball this winter. They just play on Saturdays with no practices during the week which I love. Jackson loves playing.

My parents came to his first game and took all the kids over to the other side of the gym because there was more room to play. It was very nice :)

Cute baby.

Lost Teeth 5, 6, and 7

12/26
I think he lost this one at home. And I'm pretty sure it was this one that the Tooth Fairy was really late on. He didn't mind. He knows he gets  more money when she's late.

 1/12
This one was really loose for awhile. He lost it in the bathroom and it fell down the drain.  He was a little concerned because his mouth was bleeding a ton after his tooth came out.

 1/17
He lost this one in Target. It just kind of fell out. He was worried it was bleeding a lot again, but it didn't bleed at all.

More Pictures

Here's some more picture of the kids playing. They were sick most of January and so we stayed home a lot and played.

The boys played Angry Birds with these blocks and their animals. This game doesn't work too well when Coleman's around though. He loves knocking blocks down.

Jackson got an art DVD for Christmas. He's the first project here, a roller coaster.  I guess I didn't actually get a picture of the finished product.

To get Jordan to stay in bed at bedtime we give him 2 tickets (we were going to make real tickets, but we never did, so they're just imaginary ones, but they still work:)) And every time he gets out of bed he has to give us a ticket. If he has at least one ticket the next day then he can play a game on my kindle or on the computer. If he loses them both he can't play on either (unless I want him to do homeschool stuff on it.) It works pretty well. There are still some nights he loses both, but he does pretty good most of the time.

Mackenzie loves playing on the computer. And on the kindle. And watching TV. She would do those things all day everyday if she could. She said she likes being sick (other than when she feels really awful) because she gets to watch TV all day. :)

 Jordan doing his homework.

Kenzie also like to watch Jack and Jordan play on the computer.
She was trying to hide from my camera :)

Dr. Jordan. We got those shelves and bins from Ikea in January too. We love them! I think they make it look a lot better downstairs and keep things organized better too.

Dr. Jordan taking care of the baby.

Dr. Princess Mackenzie. She loves playing dress up. And she love being a princess.

 Cute baby.

I love Coleman's face in this picture. He looks like he's wondering what I'm doing :)
