Jordan, Pizza, Stool, Christmas Pajamas, Christmas tree Jack

Cute Jordan

Jordan loves eating. He pretty much loves everything we put in front of him. He really loves pizza (which is what he's eating in the picture). He also eats a lot. When he wants more food he throws his plate onto the table so we can put more food on it. When he's done he usually throws it on the floor along with any food left on it. Then he throws any food on his tray on the ground.

We bough Jackson this stool last week so he could reach the sink and wash his hand. Before he would get on his little stool and would have to climb half way on the counter just to turn the water on and then would sometimes get stuck on the way back down. So I wanted to get him a stool so that he could go to the bathroom by himself then wash his hands by himself. He loves it. The first day he used it, I was putting Jordan to bed and when I went to get Jack he was so happy because of his stool. He said "I'm so big!" I agreed with him, and he said "No, on my stool I'm so big!" It was cute how happy it made him. He loves to get drink from the sink now too.

I bought Jordan these cute jammies last week. They were only a 1.99 so even though they're Christmas ones I bought them. And now I love them. He looks so cute in them.

After Jack finished getting into his pajamas tonight I realized that he too is in Christmas jammies tonight. I guess we like to spread the Christmas spirit all throughout the year. Before I took this picture I told Jack to be a tree. So this is a picture of Jack being a tree.

Welch's Material?

There's a young women in our ward that often tells me that Jackson is so cute he should be on a Welch's Juice commercial. You know the one where they have a cute kids saying they like the juice... Well I decided to test out her theory. But not with juice. We used Lucky Charms.

What do you think? Does he have a future as a commercial kid? :)

A girlfriend for Jack?

Today I taught preschool for my sister since she is out of town. I left Jordan with my friend (and he did good, I was nervous leaving him since I haven't left him with anyone other than family, but he didn't cry much... It's a good thing he loves his binky:)) but I brought Jackson with me. He did pretty good. He was a little overwhelmed by everyone sometimes and followed his cousin around a lot. But during the play time (which would be outside time if it wasn't raining) a little girl kept following Jack around and kept picking him up. I kept telling her to not pick him up and she would put him down, but after a few minutes she would pick him up again. She was the snack helper and Jack wanted to help her so she let him. Then after they set things upt for snack she kept picking him up still. Then at snack time he ended up sitting by her and she was nice to him and gave him some of his m&m's that had fallen off his napkin. And then I looked over and she kissed him on the side of his head. Then at the project time after I told the kids to go sit down at the tables, Jack said he wanted to sit by her. I guess he liked her too.

And here's a funny story: Today I was getting Jack into bed for his nap and he ran away from me when I was grabbing a diaper. He went over to the corner of his room and was rubbing his back on the wall and said he was scratching his back. I thought it was so funny. I asked him where he learned that and he said Baloo (from Jungle Book)... That's where I figured he learned it.

Doctor's Visit

We took Jordan to the doctor today. Here's his stats:
height: 31 inches, 97%
weight: 22 lb 6 oz, 50
head: 19 inches (I don't know the percentile for this, but Id say it's on the larger side...)

Swimming

We went to an indoor water park type place last night. We tried to go on Saturday but it wasn't free swim so we had to go home. Jackson was really sad and cried. But was really excited to go yesterday. The place has a lot of shallow water and little kid slides and a big kid slides and a river and some deeper water, but the deepest water was only 4.5 feet I think. Jackson had a lot fun. Both he and Jordan aren't at all adventurous in the water. Jack wouldn't jump in unles he was holding my hand, even in the 2 feet deep water. He would barely walk away from the wall. Jordan wanted to be held the pretty much the whole time, although he he did crawl for a few seconds. I thought he would be more daring in the water. I prefer my kids to be cautious in the water though. Overall we had a fun time. It was a little expensive I think though. I thought it was going to be a little cheaper. We need to find a cheap place to swim.

Jackson holding onto the wall. The water was shallow enough he could walk in it. He just didn't want to.

Happy Birthday Jordan!

Jordan had a waffle as part of his breakfast today and loved it. At first I just gave him a few bites of Jack's, but then he jyst kept want more and more so I just made him his own and gave some to Jackson to repay him for sharing his own waffle.

Jordan turned one year old today! It's pretty crazy that he's so old. It's also crazy to think that just a year ago he was born and we were still in the hospital. And he was just a tiny little baby. He's not so tiny anymore. We haven't been to the doctor yet so I don't know his height and weight yet. He's getting better at walking and starting to it more for longer distances. He likes to do things he's not supposed to do and then turn around and smile at me. His new favorite thing to do is to play with the vent on the fireplace. I don't like him to because I'm afraid it will fall off and hurt him. He also likes to grunt for things that he wants. He especially grunts for toys and books that Jackson has. Then he looks at me to see if I'll make Jack give him what he wants. He also likes to grunt and point towards our pantry when he's eating baby food because he knows that's where the cheerios and fishies are kept. He likes to clap when he's excited for things. Today he clapped when I brought him cheese. He really loves cheese. He starting to like to kick things. It's fun to watch him kick his little leg. He likes to go to bed most nights and sometimes starts waving night night before we even say it's time to go to bed. Once he started waving a half hour before bed time so we let him go to bed. He's been sleeping through the night the last few nights which is so nice. He loves Jackson and is always excited to see him and loves to play with him and follow him and do things like him. We had a fun day today. We had a party for him tonight with my parents and my sister and her family.
Jackson loved helping to get ready for Jordan's party. Once we got out the decorations he kept asking if we could decorate. And he kept talking about getting the Christmas tree out. At first I was confused why he thought we needed it, but then I realized that he thought we were going to decorate the tree. :) He found the birthday plates and wanted to set the table. But he had more plates then chairs. He showed me what he did with the extra plate. He said he had two plates so he could have two cupcakes. I told him he couldn't have two cupcakes and he said sorry and tried to find another spot for the plate until I told him he could just bring it to me.

Jackson and Jordan during Jordan's little photo shoot I tried to do. He didn't really cooperate well so the pictures weren't what I was hoping for.

But I did think this one was cute.

The cupcakes. It's supposed to be a train but it looks more like a truck to me. I've made the train before and I thought it turned out better then. When I made the cake I used the whisk type of beater in my mixer and was putting dishes away while it was mixing when I looked back at it it was whipped cake. I wasn't sure out it was going to turn out, but I think it turned out pretty normal.

Jackson with his party hat. Jordan didn't like wearing one at all. He took it off as quick as he could.

Jordan before opening presents. He lately has a fascination with his tongue. He has it hanging out and touches it a lot too. We have a lot of pictures from today with him doing this.

Opening a present...

He just kept playing with toy while the other kids (mostly Jack... I think he forgot whose presents they really were) opened the rest of his presents. I tried to get him to open and play with the other ones but he didn't want to until they were all open and out of their packaging. He really loves shape toys. That's what he plays with the most out of all the toys we have... And he usually likes to play with the circles the best.

Here he is with his cake. He tried to grab the candle instead of blowing it out. He doesn't know how to blow. I don't know how to teach kids how to blow. Luckily Doug blew the cande out before he touched the flame.

At first he seemed a little excited to be getting a cupcake, but then he had no interest in it. Doug tried to get him to bite it. Ashlee gave him a fork to help him to be more interested in it. That made him touch it with the fork at least, but he didn't want to eat it still...

Until uncle Konrad fed him with a fork. Then he liked it some, but didn't want to feed himself. So Konrad broke it into smaller pieces, but he still didn't want to touch it. Ashlee started to feed him some more. and she put some in his hand and he ate that. But he kept pointing at pieces showing her which ones he wanted. He did eventually eat a few bites on his own. I really thought he was going to love it and make a huge mess. I thought that even if he didn't eat it he would would wipe it all over his high chair and drop it off the edge, like he usually does with food. But he was very clean. There was barely anything to clean up.

Little Boys

Jordan successfully used a plate a few days ago. He actually ate off of it instead of immediately picking it up and dumping it upside down then throwing it off the tray. And he's done pretty good since then. He kind of tries to use his fork too. He at least puts it on his food. He hasn't had any success getting food on it. But he's trying.

Today I was cleaning the bathrooms and I started as the boys were still finishing up their breakfast. I was trying to get as much done as I could before I had to let Jordan down from his high chair. I always hate cleaning the bathrooms when he's around because he always wants to come in and I worry about him breathing in all the different fumes and touching the cleaning stuff and if I shut the door he cries. So today I was trying to work fast and get all the toilets and the tub cleaned up. I didn't think I'd get very far because I figured he would want to get down. But I kept listening for him to start whining while I cleaned and he was happy and Jack was happy. I thought they were just both eating cheerios from Jordan's tray and having fun being together. But then I came downstairs. And this is what i saw:
See those little dots all over the carpet? They're cheerios. Jackson told me he spilled. My guess is that he tried to poor some more cheerios for him and Jordan and since the box was pretty much completely full they went everywhere. It took him awhile to pick them all up. As he picked them up he just ate them all. He and Jordan must have ate a ton of them because neither of them ate much for lunch.

Then after lunch I was trying to clean up the kitchen and was putting some bread sticks I froze into freezer bags. Jackson was coloring at the table. Jordan was happy too. So I was happy to be able to get some things done while my kids were happy. Then Jack just started laughing and I turned around and saw Jordan was playing with him and had a marker with the cap off. I thought Jack was laughing because Jordan had been able to get the marker off. But once I went over to take the marker away from Jordan this is what I saw:
Jackson told me that he colored on Jordan's face. I don't know why he did it. He's never done that kind of thing before. I think he's only ever colored on his hands. Hopefully he'll never do it again.

More Snow

It snowed last night again. Then again today. I can't wait until it's done snowing and is warm outside. But today the flakes were so big. They were really pretty. I do really like watching the snow fall. I just really hate the cold.
I tried to capture how big the flakes were. I really don't remember seeing them this big before. They were huge.

Jackson trying to eat the snow.

and here is cute Jordan. No snow, but he's too cute so I had to include a picture of him too.

Children's Museum

I watched my sister's girls Thursday to Friday while my sister and her husband were out of town. I knew it was a free day at a Children's Museum a half hour away and so I decided to take the kids. I didn't tell them where we were going until we got there. It wasn't as big as I expected it to be. The kids weren't as entertained as I thought they'd be either. After about 15 minutes they were saying they were ready to go. But once we found the art room they were all much more happy. There were several different thins they could do in there.
Sam, Kimber, Alli in the boat and Jack watching. Once I pulled out the camera he got out of the boat and wouldn't get back in. The girls were much more cooperative :)

This is Alli in the art room. She's drawing on a window with markers. The kids liked this for awhile. The markers wiped off really easily with a wet rag.

Jack and Alli with there creation. Although it was mostly built before they got there.

Sam with her block tower. She played with the blocks for awhile. She had to build the tower twice because two little boys knocked over her first tower. Luckily she's easy going and didn't get upset at the kids... it could help that she has a little sister and two little cousins who have probably done the same thing.
Kimber, Jordan, Alli coloring at an easel. This was Jordan's favorite place. He liked to grab the markers then pull the lids off them. He didn't get to stay here very long... since he got marker on his lips and hands but not at all on any paper. (and yes Jordan is still in him pajamas and Alli's shirt is on backwards.... this is just what happens when I have to wake up and get up way earlier then I want and also what happens when a 3 year old dresses herself :))

So the kids did have fun but weren't too sad when we left. It definitely is only worth going on a free day. I think the girls' favorite part of the stay was taking about an hour long bubble bath. (I enjoyed that time too... I was able to be on the computer for awhile while they played. 5 kids who don't all nap leave you with much less free time than two kids who take a nap at the same time everyday.) When they were getting out Kimber asked how long they'd been in and I told her about an hour and she said that's the longest bath they've ever taken usually they just are in for 15 minutes. When I was doing Alli's hair after she got out of the bath (another big differece between having boys and girls, it takes much longer to do hair... but Sam wanted silly hair so I enjoyed doing hers. I didn't think to take a picture. Too bad) she told me she was glad that I stayed with them while her parents were in California. And I was thinking maybe she liked how I was doing her hair or she had had fun today, but then she said we wouldn't want to stay here by ourselves. At least she appreciated me :)
