Random Pictures

Kenzie and I made cocoa bombs for young womens.

They were yummy!

One day I was unloading the dishwasher (which is the kids' job) and Jordan stepped in front of my telling me not to do it anymore because he would finish :)

Coleman can solved both these Rubik's Cubes!

We got to watch Michelle's talk on Sunday! The kids were sick last weekend so we couldn't go to our ward, but I was happy that meant we could watch Michelle's since they were at the same time. I listened to Ashlee speak last month. So fun to listen to them! (I did tell them that if I have to speak, I'm not telling anyone because it would be too weird to have more people listening to me:))

Kenzie facetimed Nati and took a picture of her :)

Kenzie made Doug a count down chain.

We bought a new banana chair with money Grandma and Grandpa Dance gave us for Christmas. I knew the kids would like it, but Kenzie and Jordan both love it. We've had to banish it to the basement because there was too much fighting/distraction because of it during scriptures and history time.

We had Snickers spayed on Monday. She hasn't been eating as much as normal or been as active, but she's getting better everyday.  Doug was the nicest husband in the world and took her to the appointment so I didn't have to get up at 6:30 in the morning! He's really the best! He came home in between because she was going to be there all day (which we didn't know until he dropped her off). The vet was an hour away so it was a lot of driving (because of covid some of the closer places are not accepting new patients. And other ones were really expensive). I offered to pick her up, but he said he'd do it. So nice of him.

Kenzie got a craft subscription to Kiwi Crate for Christmas. We gave her one for Christmas, and then another came after. The first one was hand sewing a bag and the second one was dying fabric for a another bag. She's had a lot of fun with them and they both turned out great.

Doug and Jordan

Coleman reading Harry Potter 4.

Jordan made an elephant out of his orange peel. We had to take a picture of it show Michelle since she's the master of making these.

Trip Down Memory Lane

When I was looking through my photo albums to find pictures of Grandma Carlson I found lots of other pictures that were pre-blog so they aren't on here. Poor Jackson didn't get any pictures on the blog until he was a year and a half! Here's some of them :
Jack and Kenna

One of my favorite baby pictures of baby Jackson. I put all my kids in this outfit trying to recreate this cuteness because I love it so much.

Baby Jackson again.

Grandpa Riding and Jackson

Me, Doug, and Jackson. Maybe on Jackson's blessing day?

Jackson again.

The Riding Family in 2006.

The Riding Grandkids in 2006. So sweet and little!

My and Doug's first house! We lived in the basement under it. It was tiny and had one small bedroom that barely fit a bed in it. It had a tiny living room that could barely fit a loveseat and chair. And the kitchen was only about 6ft tall. My dad had to duck when he was in it.

One of our engagement pictures.

And another

Plus this weird one:)

And one where we sat on a statue horse.

The first time we met each other parents. My parents came to Provo to meet Doug and then we drove down to St George and Doug's parents met us there from Sandy Valley. Deveny was living in St. George then too so I met her. And we saw Grandma and Grandpa Carlson. Doug's brother Jason (and maybe his whole family? Although maybe just Shantel was with him) also was there too from Arizona. We realized that Jason and Shantel knew my grandma and grandpa from when they were in Orem.

Doug's first birthday when I knew him.

The Dance family in 2006. 7 of these kids are married now, and 4 of them have babies of their own! 11 have graduated from high school, with another one graduating this year. Plus a bunch more were born after this. On of my favorite parts of this picture is Alyssa staring at Jackson. It always makes me laugh:)

My family on my baptism day.

And my mom found this page of my little boys in one of Grandma Carlson's picture books. She started many years ago creating these memory books.

And Michelle sent me these pictures of my cute Kenzie-girl.

Grandma Carlson

My Grandma Carlson passed away on Saturday, January 23rd. She was 93 years old (almost 94). Since about October she has been living in a care center in Gilbert AZ since she wasn't able to live on her own anymore. She was a kind, loving, faithful woman. She loved sports (especially BYU) and almost always had some game on TV. She also loved reading. She kept her home clean and organized always. Family was very important to her. When she and Grandpa lived in Orem, they had all they BYU attending grandkids over every Monday night for dinner. By the time I was at BYU they were snowbirding in St. George during the cold months. Doug and I lived across the street from them for about a year and a half. I always loved when she would stop by and check up on Jackson and me.  They moved to Arizona around 2008, and we loved visiting Grandma there after Grandpa passed away in 2010. She's always been so loving and welcoming whenever we'd come over. We will definitely miss her!

Another one at our wedding.

Sue, Nancy, Grandma, my mom in 1998.

During my freshman year of college my mom and I drove down to St. George to visit Grandma and Grandpa. We explored nature.

Grandma climbed up here!

We went to Vegas too. It was my first time there.
