October Photo Dump

 Coleman's back to school picture

Kenzie was sad she had to go late to Coleman's soccer practice because we had to take Jackson to his group violin class and Doug was working late. Coleman and Jordan had to ride with a friend, but there wasn't room for Kenzie. Coleman's coach let her practice with them each week. She loved it!

Kenzie and her friends liked hunting for caterpillars at the boys' soccer games.

Go Packers! And Utes!

Kenzie gave her pumpkin a bath.

One very rainy soccer practice, Jordan, Coleman, and I stayed in the car and did math. Jordan's math is really challenging this year and he is loving it. I enjoy doing it with him too.

Coleman did lots of big addition problems and part whole circles with many parts.

Jordan made this picture.

Coleman bundled up for a soccer game.

Jordan made a tall tower out of 3 pieces of paper and some tape for his engineering class.

Doug won Hearts by shooting the moon so he had to stand on the chair and yell, "I shot, I shot, I shot the moon!" Coleman started that in Hawaii last year.

Another pyramid at the Winters' house.

Kenzie's drawing.

Jordan had to stack as many books as he could an inch above the ground using only 1 piece of paper and 2 feet of tape.

Coleman has decided he likes puzzles lately and did this 500 piece puzzle mostly by himself.

Jack's violin teacher, Miss Hannah, got a new kitty. Kenzie didn't come with us to lessons that day and so I took a picture to show her. She was so disappointed she didn't come.

We started a new cleaning plan on Saturday. All the kids will have a zone they are in charge of keeping clean during the week. Jordan's zone right now is the basement. After he cleaned it, I had him take a picture so I could make sure he actually did it.

I learned how to solve a 3 by 3 rubix cube this past week.

Cat and Dog

Ashlee's friend, Lindsey, lives a few housed down from my parents. Cam, Kenzie, and Coleman like to walk down to her house to see her pets. She sent Ash these pictures...

Orienteering

Jackson and Jordan joined an orienteering team and had their first race on Saturday at Magnuson Park in Seattle. It was a beautiful day so all of us went.
Mackenzie and Coleman spent most of their time playing by the water with the rocks.

Jordan and Bryce lined up, waiting for their start times.

Jackson studying his map.

Jackson getting last minute instructions before he starts the course.  The other kids next to him are all in different age groups. They have 12 course set up in the park and each division has it's own map with the check points listed. They have to check in at every check point on their map in order as fast as they can.

Mackenzie and Coleman made lots of creations out of rocks.

Jordan's time was about 38 minutes.

And Jackson's was around 31 minutes. They both placed in the middle of the all the middle school racers. The top time was about 14 minutes and the slowest was about an hour.

Northwest Harvest

The kids and I helped package pasta at Northwest Harvest. It was a lot of fun, and Jordan wants to go back everyday :)

We packaged 1200 lbs of pasta which will make 924 meals.

Happy Halloween

We had a fantastic Halloween!
Doug worked from home and watched Charlie Brown Halloween with us during lunch.
A ninja, clown, devil, wizard

Coleman and Jordan bought those giant pumpkins to trick or treat with.

We first met the Ramsays at Kent Station. It's always fun to see their amazing homemade costumes!
Mikah was Groot.

Cassidy was a sea creature from Aquaman.

Tucker was a bloodwraith. He was actually sitting on the fence in this picture and was actually about 7 feet tall when he was standing. He was walking on stilts.

Then we went back home and trick or treated in our neighborhood and the neighborhoods near us.

The kids wanted to sell their left over candy to the orthodontist. Since Coleman doesn't like candy he wanted to sell it all.

The only way he would trade with the kids was if they weighed the candy and showed him that they were giving him more weight then he was giving them in the trade. At one point Jackson and Jordan both wanted one of Coleman's candy and were trying to offer Coleman the most weight for it.

He ended up with about 5 pounds of candy!

Chuck E. Cheese

Kenzie wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese for her birthday, and we finally went last week.
This is Coleman... They wore costumes so they could get 50 free tickets. Coleman and Kenzie wanted to be the same thing so they dressed up as baseball players. Coleman decided to wear his Ben Gamel Mariners' hat that has hair attached.

Coleman and Kenzie. I bought Kenzie and All you can play pass. Jordan and Coleman bought their own. Jackson just used regular points.

We discovered Coleman has a secret talent for the claw/gabber games. He won these four balls, plus at least another 1 or 2. Jordan, Kenzie, and Jackson each won 1-2 as well. So we went home with a lot of balls!

The kids with all their prizes. Lots of balls, three punching bags and 3 sets of boxing gloves, plus some candy.
