Home Again Week 1

We've had such a busy summer that this past week was our first week home without anything going on (except for Jackson and Jordan, who had Camp Helaman). We had a fun week!

On Monday, Coleman hung out with Blake and Kenzie babysat in the morning and played volleyball in the afternoon. Jordan had tennis, and Jackson had college orientation and registered for his classes! On Tuesday Jackson left for Camp Helaman. Jordan played tennis with his friend Luca. Kenzie and Coleman went to the lake with some friends.

On Wednesday, Coleman had Ben over. We went swimming at 2 backyard pools. First we went to the Harmers pool with the Winters and the Johnson. Then we swam at my parents' pool. Kenzie was with Lorelei and Jordan left for Camp Helaman.

Coleman and Ben raced using all the swim strokes they know.

On Thursday we met the Johnsons and Taryn's family at Wild Waves. Usually they let everyone go in at 10:30 even though the rides and slides don't open until 11. But for some reason they didn't that day. I had Coleman and Kenzie get out of the car when I was waiting in line to get into the parking lot, thinking they could go in the park and ride some slides. But after I got in the parking lot I saw the crazy long line. They were really far back, but then we saw our friends were closer so we got in line with them.

I went to the Mariners' game on Tuesday with my mom and on Friday Coleman and Doug came too. Kenzie was at Lorelei's again for a movie night. Jack's old favorite Mariner in on the Mets so I took a picture of Jesse Winker to show Jackson.

Doug and Coleman. We didn't sit together most of the game because the tickets my mom got them were a couple aisles over. They were able to come over for the last couple innings though.

Jordan bought a light up Rubik's Cube so he can cube in the car more easily!

Matching Heart Players

We went to my parents' house Sunday after we got home from Hawaii (as usual) and I noticed that these 4 were all matching!

Tennis

Kenzie and Coleman started tennis lessons again on Saturday after we got home! They had a great time and were most often the winners when they played King of the Court.

Both Friday and Saturday evenings after we got home, we went to Kentridge to play tennis, slammo (our version of spike ball) soccer, and soccer tennis (I think it's officially called kick it). On Saturday Kenzie was extra hot and let me pour some water on her face.

New Bag Hanger

Coleman helped Doug put up a rack to hang up our lunch bags in the pantry. It looks great and hopefully Coleman learned a few new things!

Jackson's Diplomas!

Jackson got his high school and associates degree diplomas!

Hawaii Week 4.5

Our last few days were filled with fun! Other than everyone leaving of course. Kimber left Monday, the Kenyons on Tuesday, the Crabtrees on Wednesday, us on Thursday, and my parents on Friday. Everyone but the Kenyons took the 10:30 flight to Seattle on the day they left. We thought that was kind of funny it worked out like that :)

On Monday, we stayed home most of the day. Doug worked in the morning, then he went to play golf with my dad, Jackson, and Jordan. We went to PCC for dessert after dinner. The Crabtrees brought home some malasadas from Leonard's Bakery after dropping Kimber off at the airport and they were so yummy! I liked them more than the ones at PCC.

A rainbow under the cloud!

Nati took pictures of Alli in Alli's dress from Kimber's wedding. It got pretty wet!

Last ice cream of the trip!

The kids playing dress to impress together...

On Tuesday, we went to Matsumotos in the morning followed by Ke Iki Beach. Then we went home and the Kenyons packed up and left :( Konrad's cousin was in town so she and her family joined us at Matsumotos and Ke Iki Beach. That night we ate at the Kahuku food tucks for the last time.

Jordan had lots of shave ice to eat! There were some people sitting near us that started laughing at all the shave ice we were all giving him :)

The waves were a lot bigger than they have been the other times we were here, which was unfortunate because Cam had wanted to go there so she could swim in calm waters. I think she still had fun though:)

The family!

These boys played solitaire a lot. I told them there's a version of it that they could play together (Nerts :)) but they decided they'd rather play on their own.

Doug's view as he worked. A little better than his view from home.

Wednesday was our last full day there. We just hung out at the house all day. We played at the beach. We packed. We decided we brought too much clothes and towels and shoes (for Doug and Kenzie). I made notes so we'll remember to not bring so much next time. :) And we'll remember that we can use the house towels. For dinner, we went to Chile Relleno one last time with my parents. Doug said that not only is it the best Mexican food on the island, it's also the best Mexican food in all the US.

My mom got a picture of me in the ocean with the others!

Jordan liked making holes near the water and sitting in them and letting the water and sand bury him.

Jordan set a timer for 1 minute and dug the entire minutes to see how deep he could dig. His first attempt was pretty good.

The second was better.

He improved his strategy and made the hole big enough to put his head in so he could get deeper.

His third attempt was even better.

And his forth was also deeper!

Me and my mom!

Kenzie's last dip in the ocean.

Our house! We were in the top room with the balcony.

The Kenyons slept in this cottage.

And my parents' cottage.

Beautiful mountains and clouds and trees!

We decided to stay in the hotel the night before we left so the morning wouldn't be so stressful (for Doug, flying is always stressful for me:)) We returned our car at the hotel so we could just get up and go to the airport without worrying about returning it. Kenzie watched some shows at the hotel.

Doug and I watched the Olympics.

Coleman played Minecraft.

In the morning we decided to just walk to the airport instead of taking the hotel shuttle. We had a lot of people and bags. Plus we were supposed to be waiting for the shuttle by 7:45 and it would leave at 8, but it only took about 15 minutes to walk there. So we walked.

Back home! After we got off the plane and were walking through the airport, Coleman and I were talking about how great of a feeling it is to be walking through the airport after a flight. He knows I love that part of the vacation (because it means were done flying :)) He said he likes this part of the trip because Doug and I aren't stressed anymore. Doug worries about getting on the the plane in time. And I just worry about the flight. But after the flight, we're both just happy :)

It was such a great vacation! We loved all the beach time, games, food, and especially family time! We're so thankful my parents rent a house and we're all able to come for a month! We were all still sad to leave, even after a month. We love being together and Hawaii is a great place to be together!
