Chick Fil-A Bingo Night

Our Chick Fil-A has bingo night every Tuesday. Some of Kenzie's friends go every week and she's been begging to go. We usually have young men basketball and Coleman's basketball practice, but this week the ym had a bye and Coleman didn't have practice since there was no school for Kent, so we went. She said we needed to get there a half hour early to get a table, but we probably could have got there only 15 minutes early, or even later if we didn't mind not sitting with each other. We all had a good time!
In the end Kenzie got 1 or 2 bingos.

Coleman didn't have any.

These two wanted to make their picture more interesting than just smiling at the camera like normal people.

Jordan didn't have any bingos. They were unlucky. I had 2 bingos.

Doug had 5! He had 4 before any of us had 1. I always tell him he's lucky, but he never believes me. But this just proves he is! We won coupons for several drinks, a couple chickens (not sure if that will be nugget or sandwhiches) and an order of fries. Kenzie was really wanting to win a prize she could take home (like a tote bag). When someone gets a bingo they spin a wheel and whatever the spinner lands on is their prize.

A funny story: Doug tried to order 4 cups of water, but the lady thought he said 4 cups of ice. She said that would be the same as a bag of ice. He thought we were just being charged the price of a bag of ice for the 4 cups of water. But when they brought our food out, the server brought us an entire bag of ice. Doug was in the bathroom when it came and the rest of us had no idea why we were given a bag of ice. I thought the lady just set it there for a minute and was going to come back for it. After Doug came to our table, he took it up to the counter and explained what happened and got our cups of water instead.

Valentine's Day

We had a great Valentine's Day!

We all woke up to some Valentine's:
Coleman's
(Kenzie also got him a giant stuffed sheep that she knew he'd love)

Jordan's

Kenzie's

Kenzie left Doug and me some valentines. We thought they were so fun and creative! One says "you're doing a grape job raisin me!" and she drew a picture of two raisins and a grape.

These are the insides of Doug's and my cards.

We had a yummy dinner of pink alfredo and breadsticks, then went to Coleman's basketball game (which they won!), and then went to the Tacoma Stars game. It was lots of fun, but I didn't get a picture of all of us. Luckily Doug took one of him and me.

Jackson and Leilani had a good valentine's day too. Jackson sent us a picture of a red velvet cake that they made. He also had some pozole (which is a Mexican stewish type food that had a lot of different parts of pig, including the brain) that Leilani had brought from home. He said it wasn't so bad:)

Pie in the Face

We had some whipped cream left over from our youth Mystery Dinner and Kenzie really wanted me to pie her in the face with it.
It was a lot of fun for both of us! :)

Kent Basketball

Coleman and Blake are on the same basketball team. They have a lot of fun playing together. Although now Coleman has some competition for fast breaks because Blake also likes running up ahead of everyone else in hopes of getting a pass and then scoring.

Super Bowl Fun

We had a fun time watching the Superbowl yesterday.

The best part was Jack and Leilani surprised us by showing up right before it started! It was so fun to have them there.

Ashlee had shared a post on Facebook with this super bowl betting sheet. We all filled one out and it made watching the game even more fun as we were hoping to win. I totaled up the final scores and I was the winner! Doug and I both got 18 points, but I got the tie breaker by guessing that Jalen Hurts would be the MVP!

Temple

I went to the temple on Friday. I parked at the back so that's where the picture is from:)

Basketball Begins

Coleman started Kent basketball and had his first games last week. His team played well and won both games! Coleman scored 8 points in the game on Friday!

Elephant Ears!

On both my and Jordan's goal Bingo cards we  wrote make elephant ears. I've been wanting to make them for awhile, but I just never had. One night last week, Jordan said, "let's make elephant ears tomorrow" so we did. They turned out really yummy and were really easy to make. They did make our house smell of cooking oil though.

Snow!

We had a week of off and on snow last week. It kept snowing a bit at night and then they'd cancel school. But by noon, even our road would be clear so all our afternoon or evening activities would still be on. Jordan had school only on Thursday. He and Kenzie only had seminary on Friday (they loved sleeping in!)
This was from Sunday. We got the most snow that day. We started to go to church, but it was starting to snow really heavily and even the main roads were white. So we went back home and watched an old conference talk instead. We would have been fine though. It stopped snowing hard and the roads were cleared up again by the time we would have come home. I was still glad we stayed home because I would have been stressed that the roads were just getting snowier and snowier since I wouldn't have been able to see outside :)

It's so pretty!

They built such a cute snowman!

Just Some Pictures of Us

Rattlesnake Calathea

Doug got me a Rattlesnake Calathea for Christmas and it's a really cool plant. In the morning it looks like this:
with all the leaves hanging down

But by the evening it looks like this with the leaves standing up tall.

Last Swim Meet

Jordan had his last swim meet in January. He swam front stroke in all his events. He did great and it was fun watching him try something new this year!

We had Kenzie come along to support him too. Coleman was sick or he would have come as well :)
