Hawaii Week 3!

We had another great week in Hawaii!

Monday: We stayed at the house in the morning, then went to Matsumotos after lunch. Most the Crabtrees went to Pearl Harbor and hung out in Honolulu until they took JJ to the airport. We went with the Kenyons to Ke Iki beach. The plumbing started having problems again so we went to the Kahuku food trucks for dinner since we couldn't use much water for washing dishes.
We're in the upstairs room this year. Michelle and Richard weren't big fans of it last time, so we expected to not really like it either, but it's been good. We have a breeze coming in from the windows so it stays cooler than the downstairs room we stayed in last time. And we didn't have much privacy anyways with Jordan and Coleman sleeping in our room so it's not a big deal to not have 4 solid walls around us. The only downside is when people are loud in the mornings when I'm still wanting to sleep:)

Ke Iki beach was really pretty! Doug says he likes it better than Hukilau. I maybe would if there were bathrooms. That's kind of deal breaker for me to love a beach though :)

Jordan tried boogie boarding, but the water was pretty calm and so there weren't really any good waves to ride on.

Tuesday: We spent most of the day at home. Doug took our kids to meet Hunter at Pounders Beach. And we went to PCC for ice cream/dessert. It was Kenna's last day! The plumbers came again to try to fix the water problem, but it only worked for a day.

Pounders! It has strong, big waves. Kenzie seemed to love it. She asked to go back the next day. Coleman didn't last long in the water. Jack and Jordan liked it.

Chess happens everyday.

Coleman's ice cream was almost as big as his head!

Jordan played Mash for the first time! He had some pretty unique suggestions. And he didn't actually suggest any of the girls. Jackson, Alli, and I came up with them all:)

On Wednesday, we mostly stayed home again:) Doug, my dad, Jackson, and Jordan went golfing at Bay View golf course. We went with the Kenyons and my parents to Pounders for a couple hours.

Doug thought I looked like McDonalds...

Pounders

Nati and Kenzie tried the big waves. Kenzie said they weren't as big as the previous day.

But they still got pounded a few times! They also almost got run over by some boys surfing.

Thursday: On Thursday, Doug, Konrad, Jackson, and Jordan went to play tennis. Then we met them at Matsumotos. On our way home we stopped at Haleiwa Beach to see sea turtles. The cleaning lady told us that there are more turtles there than at the the turtle beach we usually go to. We hung out at the the house beach the rest of the day. Also, the plumbers came again and finally fixed everything (we hope!) Apparently there were roots growing inside the pipes which blocked things from going past it. The plumber got most of them out and said the plumbing should be good for a couple months. That night we had date night at the Kahuku food trucks! The kids ate Dominos at home.

The turtles!

I found a green gecko on our balcony.

There were so many jelly fish that day! Doug cleaned one off the beach.

Kenzie tried surfing some more.

Friday: We swam at Hukilau and Pounders.
Michelle took the paddleboard out.

Back at Pounders. The waves were even smaller that day.

Jackson and Jordan playing spikeball. They kept arguing so I made them stop and find something else to do.

On Saturday we spent most of the day at Hukilau again. I was stung by my first jellyfish ever. Nati and Jordan also were stung. I think Jordan has been stung 4 times this trip! Then we went to Ke Iki beach for the Sunset!

Jordan and Doug buried themselves.

Playing dead.

Pretty sunset!

There were some rocks and plants under the water growing on the rocky area. There were little fish swimming in this hole.

Kenzie and Nati wanted me to take a ton of pictures of them. I think I have over 300! But I only included a few here:

We went to PCC for dessert afterwards. Coleman and Richard went to McDonalds for ice cream and milk shakes instead.

Sunday: We went to church in the morning. It was super crowded! There were chairs lined up to the back of the gym and they still had to add another row behind those and some on the sides. The sacrament didn't end until about a half hour after church started. Most the young men had to go back for a second tray of water. There was a missionary farewell. We were excited because we got to sing Aloha 'Oe at the end. The kids and I stopped at the temple on our way home. We played games the rest of the day! We played Skyjo, Pictionary, Whoonu, Canasta, Hearts, Chess, Spikeball, and Shakaball. Doug and Coleman made up a new game called Pyramid which is a lot of fun!

Coleman said they should take their new pictures for our picture frames there. The others weren't as excited about the idea. But he looks so cute!

Doug and I drew Beauty and the Beast. His team guessed it first. But the girls won every game we played!

Doug rounds the kids up every night to clean up dinner. These guys were working hard!

Kenzie was working hard sweeping the bathroom, hallway, and kitchen!
