The kids and I went to the fair last Monday. Doug didn't want to go this year so we went on a school day to avoid the crowds.
First the kids rode rides. They each got to choose 3. I also chose one for all of us. I made everyone go on the Tilt a Whirl with me. It was always my favorite ride growing up. I thought it was still so much fun. The kids all liked it too. Kenzie didn't like when we spun really fast though.
Kenzie wanted to sit on every foot massaging station we passed.
Kenzie and Coleman rode in the canoes. Jackson ran around and started pushing the boat until I told him that wasn't a good idea.
Jordan rode a medium size roller coaster. Jackson was going to ride it with him until he decided it was too slow.
Kenzie and Colie rode the motorcycle ride.
All the kids rode the tractors. They didn't cost anything.
We some the pigs while we were waiting for the bigger kid rides to open at noon.
And visited the pilgrim area to learn how things used to be done.
Jordan drilling a hole.
Kenzie making flour.
Jack sawing a log. All the kids did this and they got to keep the piece they cut off. Coleman kept calling it his circle. He would say "where's my circle?"
The boys went on their first haunted house ride. They loved it and told Kenzie she would have been so scared.
Coleman was "tired of walking."
Sometimes he tells me he's "full of walking."
Jack did a fun house.
All the kids did a different fun house. Jack stayed with Coleman and helped him.
Kenzie and Jordan in the ball pit.
Coleman and Jackson crossing the bridge.
Kenzie and Jordan again.
Jack, Coleman, Kenzie.
Next we went to the petting farm and to see the animals.
Kenzie and Jordan petting a bunny.
Coleman would only pet the bunny and the chick, He wanted me to hold him the rest of the time. He thought the goats and sheep were scary.
My little cows: Coleman, Kenzie, Jordan, Jackson. Coleman wanted me to carry him in the cow barn too. He was so scared when we walked in and he just saw a bunch of cows laying around, not in cages. I told him they were tied to the wall but he didn't care. He wanted me to carry him.
They all milked a pretend cow.

After looking at the other animals we went to see all the things for sell inside. A Kitchencraft cooking show. The cook's wife told me it was an hour and half and asked if we were going to stay the whole time. I told her I didn't think so and she indicated that we should probably leave right then. I really wanted to watch it though and see how long the kids would last. They ended up being really good the whole show and enjoyed watching it. Coleman was a little bored throughout it, but he still was quiet and just stood by me. The boys seemed to love it and wanted me to buy all the cool things we saw. I wanted to buy them all too, but Doug said no... The kids started to get restless at the end of the show when he was just going over prices and such. We should have just left, but I really wanted to see how much everything cost and I thought he was going to do more prizes, but he didn't. And the prices were too high. But it was fun to watch the show and I was happy the kids were so good so we could watch it. It was such a fun day at the fair!
