Wild Waves!

Jordan and I went to Wild Waves yesterday! It was crowded and the lines were long, but we had a great time! We shared a yummy elephant ear before leaving.

FSY

Kenzie and Coleman are at FSY this week at the University of Seattle! Coleman is rooming with Blake and Kenzie is rooming with Delaynie. So far they've been telling me they're both having a great time. Coleman said FSY is so fun! I'm glad they're loving it!

Coleman, Zander, Brady, Blake. We were happy to find other boys in our ward were going to be there too. Hunter and Wyatt are also there with them! So fun!

It was easiest for me to just drop Kenzie and Delaynie off at the round about outside their room so I didn't get to go in and see it. I made them promise me that they'd send me a picture, and they obliged :) Kenzie is happy that Carter is also there this week.

Hopefully they'll have some pictures to share with me once they get home!

The Deck

Cody finished our deck while we were in Hawaii. He did a great job! It looks so good!

Doug bought a grill and table. He (with a little help from the boys) put them together.

It looks so great!

My Garden

My garden has done so well while I was away! We had Barth (and Kenzie's friend Jenna for a few days) watering it and they did a great job!
My strawberries are spreading throughout the container. There's also one basil plant and two lamb's ear (that I thought was fuzzy basil until google gemini taught me otherwise :)). I moved the lamb's ear into another one because I read it's not a good mix with strawberries.

The mint! I'm going to remove all the mint when it cools down a bit to plan some cool weather crops.

The lemon tree! There were lots of little lemons on the dirt and a few green ones on the plant.

We have sunflowers! I never knew how much I loved sunflowers until seeing these in the garden every day.

My serrano pepper and tomato plants! There's lots of small peppers and a couple cute green tomatoes growing!

The cucumber plant! It's growing well and has several small cucumbers growing on it.

The herb garden kept growing. I planted some more green onions.

More mint!

The raspberry plant grew so big! There aren't any flowers or fruit on it, but the leaves are thriving :)

Flowers, including another sunflower that hasn't bloomed yet.

A coleus plant! It looks a little bigger, but didn't change much :) This is where I moved the lamb's ear.

I also walked around the yard to see how the berries are doing. I found these purple flowering raspberries. I picked a couple and Doug tried them and said they were yummy! There's lots of blackberries growing and a good amount of blueberries. I picked some blackberries and blueberries, and they were yummy!

My blueberries were covered by so many weeds. I did lots of weeding one afternoon and now there's a oath to them. There are still a lot of weeds around, but at least we can easily reach the blueberries:)

The sunflowers again!

Our next gardening steps will be to plants some fruit trees (probably apple, plum, and pear) and some kiwi and grape plants! Doug's planning to build me some trellises for the kiwi grapes. He has some other projects to finish before he gets to that though.

Hawaii Final Week

We had a great last week. As always we were still a little sad to come home. I think the kids were mostly happy to come back and get back to normal life and their friends. Doug was excited to get back to the farm. I was excited to be done with flying, but so sad to leave my family and beautiful Hawaii.

Monday, Chelle, the girls, and I went thrift store shopping on our way to Kailua. The girls found so many treasures! Doug, Jackson, Jordan, and my dad went golfing. My mom and Coleman hung out in the house until the boys got home. Then we all met at Kailua. The waves were so big. I love Kailua because the waves are always calm. But not that day! It was so weird. The water was coming up so high on the beach that we had to put the towels up on the big hill so they wouldn't get wet (after they already got soaked by the water coming up high). Some of us sat at the bottom of the hill in our beach chairs to keep from getting wet but were still be able to see all the beauty of Kailua. We went to Chile Relleno for dinner and then PCC for dessert!
Coleman trying to stay dry from the rain.

Kenna ordered a large lemonade! The larges come out in pitchers:)

When we got home the girls showed us all their purchases. This is one of the outfits Kenzie bought. A size XL men's basketball shorts and a little boys spiderman shirt :)

On Tuesday, it was a little rainier than normal, although ended up being not too bad. Chelle took the twins to Waimea because they wanted to go back (Chelle said Kenzie said it's her favorite beach), then we all met at Matsumoto's for shave ice. Afterwards we went to the turtle beach in Haleiwa. The water was surprisingly brown. A tropical storm was passing by so we assume all the dirtiness was from that. The Crabtrees had gone the week before and said it was clean and normal looking then. Afterwards, Michelle took the girls to Canes and the rest of us went to Pounders. Michelle and the girls met us there after they ate. Michelle made some yummy smore bite bars that night for dessert!
My handsome boys at Matsumoto's!

The brown water!

It was much harder to see the turtles through the brown, but we still we able to see several.

Jackson and Jordan ready to go in Pounders

The waves were huge! We were always so nervous when anyone went in the water. We were less so with Jackson and Jordan because they're young and agile :) Doug, my dad, and Kenna also went in. We were nervous with Kenna because last time she went in at Pounders she dislocated her shoulder. Only Jackson and Jordan stayed in for a long time.

On Wednesday we went to Hukilau. My mom still hadn't been that trip and the rest of us were all happy to go again, so we went. It was really hot and the waves were bigger than normal, but we had a great time! That night we went to PCC for the evening show, Hā Breath of Life. It was a lot fun! We had wanted to get dessert after the show, but all the dessert places were closed.

Thursday was our last day there :( We wanted to make sure we fit in all our favorites so we had a busy, fun day! We started with Pipeline in the morning, Haleiwa for shave ice and lunch, Kokololio, dinner at the food trucks, sunset at Sunset, and dessert at PCC. We were wondering if we packed all our days that full if we'd be ready to go home at the end of the month :)
This is where Coleman slept once Jackson started sleeping in the Crabtree's room after they left. It's the closet in my and Doug's room. We had a room upstairs for all the boys, but Jackson wanted to sleep in the closet because there was better wifi there, and then Coleman said he liked it better there than upstairs. Jordan slept in the bedroom the whole time he could (which was after Kimber, JJ, and Lucy left)

My and Doug's room. The rooms all had AC, which was so nice! The rest of the house didn't but it usually wasn't too bad in there with the windows open (until the last week when it was muggy with very little breeze).

Michelle searched for shells.

The waves seemed to have calmed down a lot since the last time we were there. I think the storm had finally passed us.

Grandpa swimming

My and Doug's normal order: watermelon for me (which has always been my normal order!) and POG with ice cream for Doug.

Michelle getting out at Kokololio.

Doug, Jackson, and Jordan playing football.

Kenzie resting

Playing flyers in the water.

We finally got a sunset that wasn't covered with clouds. It was so pretty! Kenzie, Nati, Kenna, and Jordan all swam. There was a guy on some board getting pulled by a robot, but from the beach it looked like he was getting pulled by a dolphin :)

We shared an oreo cookie with ice cream on it. It was yummy! They were sold out of smore cookies and regular chocolate chip cookies. Luckily the oreo one was good too!

Kenzie had finished hers before I knew she even had it. But she had ice cream too.

A few more hearts games were played. Jordan was official Hawaii 2026 Champion!

On Friday, the Kenyons left super early (around 5:30, I think) and we left around 8:30. My parents didn't come home until the next day, but they left the house in the late morning and spent the day and night in Waikiki.

This is the house we stayed in! It was great! It was 7 bedroom which was great with our growing family!

Doug and I sat next to each other on the plane! We did on the rides to and from the Big Island as well. This was the first time we've sat by each other since before Jordan was born! (I guess other than when we went on our cruise without the kids in 2010) It was fun to be able to sit by each other again :) although we didn't interact much. I watched Wonka and the Mariners game while playing games on my phone, and Doug read and slept. I never get anything to drink because I bring my own water, so I ordered him a guava juice every time they brought us drinks.

We were excited to see our new, fully finished deck when we got home!

And I was so excited to see my garden! (more pictures will be in another post:)) I had to ask gemini what this surprise plant is and it's a sunflower!

And my cilantro grew out of control and grew flowers! I thought it was a weed when I first saw it :)

It was such a wonderful month! I'm so grateful my parents rent a house for us all every few years so we can spend time together and enjoy Hawaii!
