Hawaii Week 5

We had another fabulous week!

Monday the Kenyons were gone all day with Richard's sister's family who were in town for the day. The rest of us just stayed home all day and played at the beach.

Kenzie listening to Harry Potter and enjoying a snack. She said "I've missed Harry Potter!" At home, her and Coleman are pretty much always listening to one of the books.

Jordan and Jackson

Jackson's really got the hang of surfing!

Jack and Jordan

It's just so beautiful here! We often see sea turtles swimming around in the water outside our house. There might be one in the picture. I keep trying to get a picture of one. It so fun to see them!

Kenzie and me sharing a lawn chair.

Doug and my dad went golfing that afternoon.

On Tuesday we went to Matsumoto's in the morning and then to Sunset beach to swim. My mom was sick in the afternoon, but it seemed to be just from the heat and she was feeling better by the next morning, luckily.
A lot of chess is played. Jackson set up a tournament for him, Doug, Coleman, Jordan, and grandpa.

Jackson decided to try a shave ice again. HIs first one of the trip. I don't think he thought it was worth it though.

Jordan the finisher.

It was so hot at Sunset, we spent a lot of time in the water. Eventually the clouds rolled in and it wasn't so hot out of the water.

Some people went snorkeling.

Coleman played some volleyball.

Coleman was the last one in the water. He loves Sunset! He says it might be his favorite, but he'd need to go to Kailua again to be sure.

Ashlee saw a beautiful sunset was happening. Many of us went down to the beach. These girls went for a night swim. Doug joined them too. Then we had some family Olympics, mostly in the dark. We had long jump, crab walking, backwards running (who knew Jackson had such a talent for this?!?) wheelbarrow races, standing still then jumping, cartwheel race, somersault into the ocean race, and maybe a couple more things. It was pretty fun to watch!

On Wednesday the Kenyons, Kenzie, Cam, and Sam went to the Hukilau Cafe for breakfast. We stayed at home the rest of the day and did a lot of sandplaying.  That night was date night. We went to Kahuku again and ate a lot of yummy food. My mom and I tried a different Thai truck and it was very yummy!

Richard showed Coleman how to catch a crab.

He got one!

Kenzie and Nati convinced Doug to go on a walk with them.

Cam and Coleman

A lot of the family in the water!

Colie and Cam again.

Doug made a hole for himself.

Coleman's creation.

Michelle and Richard's creation.

Doug's hole getting bigger.

Jordan dug a big hole too.

Doug wanted us to fill in his hole.

Family picture!

Doug wanted us to come closer to him.

It took a lot of digging to get him out!

All sandy now!

Michelle convinced Sam and Kenna to try a fun sand idea...

It worked really well! :)

Nati and Kenzie

Jordan just sat in his hole and let it fill up with sand as the tide came in.

Sometimes the tide came a little too high.

He couldn't get out so Ashlee went to help him. But the water kept coming in and pushing the sand back in place.

They worked hard, and Shell came to help too and eventually they got him out. But then when he got out he couldn't stand because his legs were asleep. It took a bit for them to wake up :)

Alli and Kenna sunbathing.

On Thursday, Doug, Jackson, Jordan, and my dad went golfing in the morning. And we just stayed home again the rest of the day. After dinner we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center for dessert.

Dessert at PCC.

On Friday, the Kenyons, Kenzie, and all the Crabtrees besides Ashlee went horseback riding in the morning. Then we went to Matsumto's and back to Hukilau to swim. That night the kids presented all the things they've been working on throughout the trip. It was the Kenyon's last day:(

It was along the coast.

Kenzie said it was the best day ever. She's been wanting to do horseback riding for so long and loved every minute of it. She said her horse (Jet) galloped a little to catch up to the others when he stopped for a bite of a bush.

Coleman decided to get Doritos at Matsumoto's instead of shave ice, because the ice hurts his front teeth.

Our last group shot.

Kenna and Jack

Alli

Kenzie and Nati

These three made up a dance.

Cam, Kenzie, Nati, Kenna, Alli, and Sam did an interpretive dance. It was  hilarious and so entertaining.

Sam was a hunter and the rest were animals.

She killed them all! Or so she thought. Kenna really had just faked her death and attacked Sam. And then everyone else came back to life and they attacked Sam too.

For the last several weeks they've been filming for a show they made. Sam did the filming and then she edited it and put it up on youtube. It turned out amazing. The actors did a great job acting and Sam did so good with all the editing. It took her 4 hours to edit it. We can't wait for the next one!

Saturday the Kenyons left :( We just hung out at our house and beach all day. Everyone else went out for dinner, but we just got pizza for us.

Storm clouds! We got poured on a few times, but most of just swam through the rain (some went back in the house until the rain passed) It was warmer in the water than in the rain!

Right before this Kenzie had run to me and said "I love Hawaii!"
