We had another great week! Time is flying by! On Monday we went to beautiful Kailua after lunch and then Makapuu after eating dinner out to see the huge waves.
Jordan and Jackson playing frisbee.
Nati, Kenzie, and Cam playing in the water.
Kenzie flopping in the water.
Nati and Kenzie
Shell and Marley
Ashlee and Konrad playing in the sand together.
Kenzie's and Nati's creation.
Shell and Alli chicken fighting. A lot of chicken fighting happened.
The finished castle! Looks amazing. Coleman thought it was Hogwarts. The trees are my favorite part.
The grandkids in age order.
Makapuu:
the Crabtree girls
Doug posed for me:
Then Kenzie joined in:
And more Doug:
Richard tried to get in the Crabtree's family picture.
Alli getting splashed.
Everyone there. My parents and Jack and Kenna just went home after dinner.
Tuesday was Kimber's last day so we had family pictures in the morning. Ashlee's photographer friend was in town vacationing and so she offered to take our pictures for us. We haven't got them yet, but I'll post them when we do. After pictures we hung out at our beach and then the adults had date night again. Kimber flew home that night.
Marley, Shell, Kenna, Paxton
Wednesday morning Nati and Richard left for Texas so Nati could go to cheer camp (their coming back today though! Their plane is probably landing now as I type!) After seeing them off, Shell and Kenzie were sad so they decided to walk to Hukilau Cafe and get some breakfast. We went to Matusmotos in the morning and did some shopping in Haliewa. My mom, Shell. Kenna, and I went to Cholos for lunch. Then we played at our beach in the afternoon.
The wind was so strong Coleman didn't need hands to hold the boogie board.
Coleman
Coleman digging in the sand.
Jordan. He was getting a rash on his stomach from the boogie board so he wanted a swim shirt. Luckily Matusomoto's had them on clearance. Doug has the same one.
Jackson
Cam, Kenzie, and Coleman built a fort to watch a movie in. I don't think wifi was working very good out there so they ended up watching inside.
But it was good looking fort.
Thursday we stayed home all day.
Coleman, Kenzie, and Cam
Kenzie and Cam were striking some great poses.
Kenzie made Jackson into a fish.
Doug's been reading on the beach a little!
Kenzie wrote "I am a fish ha ha ha"
Ashlee and I built this castle.
Friday Sam turned 18! We stayed at home in the morning and then Sam wanted to go to Pipeline after lunch. Then we came home and played at our beach again. She wanted tacos for dinner and the opened presents and we had Ashlee's homemade ice cream cake for dessert.
Kenzie copied the turtle painting. She did so good!
It was a more calm day at Pipeline, but sometimes a huge wave would come in.
The big reason Sam wanted to go there was so she could boogie board down the hill and flip into the waves. She got really good at it! Kenna's sliding down too.
Jordan and Cam sliding down.
Ashlee buried Cam so only her head was showing.
Jack asked me to bury him too.
Kenzie coming to bug Jackson.
Doug, Coleman, Alli, and Kenna
Back at our beach:
Cam and Coleman swimming.
Kenzie playing in the sand.
Jackson boogie boarding. He started boogie boarding in his back too. It was pretty funny :)
Kenzie used the remains of Ashlee and my castle to make a turtle!
Happy Birthday Sam!
Saturday morning the original Ridings went to get Malasadas. We had to wait 25 minutes so we walked to the beach we lived by last time we came watched the waves and looked for sea glass. The rest of the day we just hung out at home.
Us at the beach.
Kenzie buried Jackson.
They put the bucket on his head then had Jordan, Alli, and Kenna look under it. Jordan was so surprised. Alli and Kenna thought Sam was under, so they were surprised it was Jackson's head.
Cam, Kenzie, and Doug doing tricks on the beach.
Kenzie and Doug
Cam and Colie played all afternoon together.
Today we went to church this morning and are just hanging out, playing games and watching the Olympics. Shell, Kenzie, and Cam are picking Nati and Richard up at the airport.
Kenzie is super excited to see Nati again!
