Kenzie, Coleman, and I went on a really great fieldtrip at the Museum of Flight today. They did a simulation of flying to Mars from a nearby moon, Phobos. Everyone had jobs and one group was in the space ship and the other was at mission control. They did it twice so each group could work in each location. They had the same job each time.
Coleman's job was to work on the rover they were going to send to explore Mars. In the first round he was at mission control and had to help his partner in the spaceship get the rover ready. He talked on the walkie talkie pretty much the whole time telling the other kid what to do.
From mission control there was a video showing the inside of the spaceship. Kenzie's in the back kind of in the middle.

Andrew, Coleman, and Levin at mission control.
Coleman had a screen next to him that showed him what his partner was doing.
Kenzie and Damien in the spacecraft. Their job was Life Support. Their job was to make sure the environment in the spacecraft was safe.
I could see Kenzie's head on a screen in mission control.
2 boys working on the spacecraft. Until I saw pictures I didn't realize how much was going on in the spacecraft. Coleman was working in the little room behind these boys.

After the simulation we visited some of the exhibits.
It was a fun day! We love fieldtrips!
