Father's Day

We had a great time celebrating Doug on Father's Day!

We have him a box of presents!

We got him some barbecue accessories and two woodworking books (his likes have changed a lot since we moved:)) we're planning to get a barbecue once the deck is done and we get home from Hawaii.

Kenzie tried standing for the first father and kids photo

But I made her sit so we could get a better one :) Such a cute family I have! (Jackson's home for the summer!)

We met the Crabtrees at Jenks Park to play pickleball and tennis and volleyball. It was hot, but we all had fun! Then we headed to Ashlee's where Grandma and Grandpa Riding and Crabtree met us. WE had a yummy dinner and played some fun games!

We also celebrated Coleman's birthday!

The kids had a handstand contest outside. Jackson, Liam (Alli's boyfriend who's visiting from Boston), Alli, Cam, and Kenzie. Kenzie seemed to win most of the rounds I watched. Cam won a few too. It was fun night!

Summer Fun

Colie and Cam were the first to swim in the pool!

Colie and I played The Farming Game!

Kenzie being Kenzie

Kenzie saw my outfit for church one day and realized she had a similar so she surprised me by matching me!

Kenzie looked like a little kid on our giant couch.

Ashlee and Coleman have been battling it out to be the top of the leaderboard when they tie. Ashlee is always first since her name starts with A (I'm always last because my name starts with S...). Coleman changed his to A Coleman so he'd be ahead of her She noticed and changed it to Aashlee and they just kept going from there. I think both their names are just 0s at this point, but I'm not certain because it just 000000000...... so I don't know what the ... all stands for :) Coleman had been loving the battle though!

Coleman was digging in the hedges trying to find a ball that got lost in them and he found a missing Easter egg! He got around 45 cents!

We went to Wild Waves! We brought Carter and Mikah with us and I forgot to get a picture other than this one with Kenzie and Carter in line for the slide. Jordan had to take a test so he couldn't come so I didn't have anyone to ride slides with so I just read in the lawn chair all day.

Coleman went to a summer kick off party on Friday and came home with a few scratches. They were played a game where one person would run to grab a water balloon while everyone else ran away. As soon as the person grabbed the balloon everyone else had to stop running. He was running away and glanced behind him to see if the person had grabbed the balloon and ran face first into a tree! We all had a good laugh at that story (including him!) He likes to tell people he fought a bear though :)

His legs got scratched up from climbing through blackberry bushes to hide from hunters with orbeez guns.

Kenzie was making some really weird faces (she was taking pictures of herself) and I had to take a picture of her faces.

More Barn Updates

Jordan and Doug put up some can lights.

Doug and Scott finished all the board and batten (other than what they have to do after the floors and baseboards are installed) and it looks great! They started putting in the floors too and Doug made screens for the windows!

They also got the other French doors installed! It's all looking so great!

Around the Yard

We moved the garden over to the other back half of the house. We're having a deck put in where the garden was so we had to move the planters. Cody (Doug's cousin who's building the deck) used a forklift to move them to the other side.

They look good over there!

Coleman and I (with a little help from Kenzie) moved the bark out of the old garden spot. We put some in the new garden area and the rest on a tarp. It took us about 3 hours of shoveling! We took some breaks to cool off with the sprinkler because it was a hot day!

Kenzie saw a deer in the yard!

And she saw it jump the fence!

Doug and the kids dug out a trench between the two areas where water goes in the winter. I helped a little too :)

Kenzie found these cinnabar moth caterpillars on a ragwort plant. There were so many of them!

The deck is coming along great!

Senior Piano Recital

Jordan had his senior piano recital on June 19th. He played 6 songs and did a fantastic job. I loved hearing him practice over the last several months! He worked so hard and it really paid off. Everyone was super impressed with his skill.

Coleman's Birthday!

Coleman's 15th birthday was last week! We had so much fun celebrating him! He woke up around 7, I think, and went downstairs and played Minecraft until the rest of us came down for him to open presents around 9:00. Then he played Minecraft until it was time to go to Olive Garden for lunch, where Grandma Riding joined us. Next we went mini golfing at the Family Fun Center. Everyone but Kenzie went on a bike ride. Jordan actually ran. We don't have bikes for everyone and he said he wanted to try running along with us. He did great! Then we went back home where he played more Minecraft. Jack's roommate Jake streams Minecraft on YouTube and he made an escape room on Minecraft for Coleman for his birthday. Coleman was so excited! He escaped faster than Jake expected, in about 8 minutes I think but had a lot of fun!
He still loves the room to be decorated crazily with streamers!

Kenzie's ball got trapped in there so Coleman climbed in and saved it. He found a couple other balls in there too.

It was harder to climb out then to climb in!

We had extra points so he played the ball grabber game and got a ball and then he played the arcade games.

He used his tickets to buy the little orange ball.

He's recently learned to juggle and loves practicing!

Two presents were delayed in their shipping. One came on his birthday, the other still hasn't arrived. He was excited to open the one that did arrive.

He still loves powdered donuts!

He's such a handsome boy!
