Kenzie Story

One day when Kenzie and I were in the car, she was talking about how Cam would probably be the flower girl when Kimber gets married. She said she hoped Kimber would let her, Nati, and Cam all be flower girls. I told her Kimber might not get married for at least 5 to 10 more years. Kenzie was shocked and said "But she's 18, so she'll get married in 1 or 2 years." I told her that most people don't get married until they're about 27 or 28 these days and it's rare to get married around 20.  She really couldn't believe it.

Then the next day when I was wrapping Jackson's 13 presents for his golden birthday and she was asking if she would get 22 presents on her golden birthday. Then she told me she'd probably still live with me, since she likely won't be married yet. I told her people don't usually live with their parents until they're married. They go to college and get jobs. Again she was so surprised :)

Coleman, Coleman, Coleman

Coleman and I had to test out our air mattresses to figure out which one doesn't have a hole.

Coleman had another baseball game yesterday. He keeps telling me he wants to play Little League next year so he can play kid pitch and have balls and strikes. He did great yesterday. He made 5 or 6 outs, including 4 in one inning. He started running off the field after the third out, but they let the last two batters bat instead of just ending the inning. He was playing pitcher that inning and ran the ball to home all four times. He also played first and third.

I finally remembered to give him a hair cut before putting him in the bath or shower...
This is the before picture. He wasn't very happy to get a haircut. Mostly just because he doesn't really like the hair cut part, not because he really wants long hair. But while I was cutting it, he said he did like it. He also said it wasn't as bad as he remembered it being.

So handsome!

And then he wanted to do some silly pictures.

Little Kenzie

We went to the Science Center and Kenzie wanted me to take her picture at the the giant table.

Middle School Soccer

Jackson sitting in the front for the first time (when the car wasn't so full that he had to sit there:) He still forgets half the time that he can sit up there. We went to Target the day after his birthday so he could spend his birthday money and buy Pokeman cards.

That afternoon he had soccer and it started raining so hard. He was soaked by the time it was time to go. His face was dripping water. Luckily the rest of us stayed dry under the umbrellas :) This game was against Cedar Heights and had 3 kids he has played with before, two from his soccer team this spring and one was on his Covington basketball team.

Jackson Becomes a Teenager

Jackson turned 13 on Monday! It was his golden birthday, and he became a teenager so it was an extra special birthday.
He played video games while he waited to open his presents.

Since it was his golden birthday, we got him 13 presents!

Coleman wanted to see all the presents up close.

We got him a hydration pack. Jordan loved it so much, he bought himself one the next day :) Now they're both ready for some long hikes!

And he got an all weather sleeping bag.

Checking out his new Pokemon cards Jordan and Coleman got him.

Kenzie gave him Heely's.

After presents he played video games for a little bit.

Then we went to Chuck E. Cheese. We let him get a 45 minute unlimited play pass. He loves it!

Kenzie won the super bonus again!

Wild haired Coleman.

After Chuck E Cheese we had co-op. It was Jackson's last normal class. He had to take a year end test. The rest of us had a party day at Lake Wilderness.

Jordan and Logan came in second for the water balloon toss.

Jackson had soccer practice, then came home and went to the Mariners' game with Grandpa! He sat in the front seat!

Mothers' Day/Cam and Jack's Family Party

Jack and Camryn always have to share their family party with the moms. They don't seem to mind though. They still get most of the spotlight :)

He got so much junk food! He was so excited :)

My sisters and I got my mom a map of all the baseball parks in the U.S. so she can mark off the ones she's been to. We also got her a gift card to Home Depot so she can get the rose bushes she wants.

Jack wanted Rice Krispy Treats and Cam chose peanut butter cookies. And my mom got a big Costco Chocolate cake for the moms. It was yummy!

Kenzie crocheted a bracelet for me and put a CTR charm on it. She also wrote me a nice card telling me she will always be nice.

Baseball

Coleman is playing baseball this year. He loves it and says he wants to do Little League next year. I'm not sure we really want to commit to Little League, but we'll probably try to find something that has an extra practice or a longer season for him next year.

These are from his first practice: (Doug had to take him since I had volleyball)

Such a cute little baseball player!

These are from his first game:
Playing short stop. He also played catcher and third base. When he was playing third base, he had several ground balls hit to him and fielded them well. One of them he ran back to his base and got the runner out.

For some reason he didn't bat the first inning. They have may had three outs, but we didn't think the last play on the first inning was an out. Maybe we missed something though. After a couple batters in the second inning, I realized that they had all batted in the first inning, but Coleman (and maybe another kid) still hadn't batted. I went to go talk to him about it, when the lady who was telling the kids when to bat told him it was his turn. Then the next inning he batted second. They didn't seem to be using any kind of order. Hopefully they will in the next games.

He hit the ball both times.

He made sure to gather all his baseball stuff in his bag before getting his snack. Don't you love his sweaty hat hair:)

Lake Meridian

We met up with some friends at Lake Meridian on Friday. It was a perfect day for the beach!
Coleman really wanted to play at the playground. He said it's his favorite one.

Group Class Performance

Jackson had his group class solo performance last week. He did a great job! He also did a recital for his private lessons on Saturday.
