Guemes Island

Kenzie and I went to Guemes Island with the young women last weekend. We had a great time!
The house we stayed in was right on the beach.

Kenzie and Jenna

Lynnea suggested they switch places so Jenna would be on the lower ground. :)

Delaynie found a shield among the driftwood. She used it to block rocks that Kenzie threw at her.

So pretty!

The other girls showed us what gooey ducks are and we spent a long time walking along the beach looking for them.

Paisley and Lorelei dug a gooey duck out of the sand.

We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows.

Delaynie and Kenzie played ladder ball.

The ferry terminal. The ferry ride was really short and we had to stay in the car the whole time.

Tacoma Stars

We went to a Tacoma Stars indoor soccer game. It was so fun!

Doug bought balls to try to throw into the car.

After the stars scored goals, they would often throw a little soccer ball into the crowd. Kenzie ran down there to try to get them to throw one to her. They didn't ever throw one to her...

But they did throw one to Coleman! He was so excited!

Basketball

Jackson and Coleman played soccer for Kent Parks and Rec. They both had a lot of fun. Doug helped out with both teams when he could. After he sprained his ankle, he wasn't able to help as much.
Almost all of the kids on Coleman's team and his coach were from his soccer team.

Coleman dribbling. His team name was the Gutters.

Jackson doing a layup at practice. They had to get 30 in a row from each side as a team.

Cam stayed with us a few times.

Doug always helped with the score at Coleman's games.

Jackson and Jordan made a fantasy basketball league for Coleman's team.

They brought this notebook to every game. Jackson had 5 players on his team (including Coleman) and Jordan had the other four.

Jack's game.

Coleman's team party. His coach talked about how Coleman was always open under the basket :) Coleman made 3 baskets, all in the same game. He had a lot fun!

JV Soccer

Jackson made the JV soccer team!
His first day of tryouts poured so much! He was soaked!

He had practice one sunny Saturday.

Horseback Riding

We got Kenzie a Groupon to do a horseback riding lesson and trail ride for her birthday. We finally redeemed it in February. Doug was going to go with her, but since he sprained his ankle, I went instead. We had a lot of fun and now Kenzie is even more obsessed with horses and convincing us to let her take lessons.

Kenzie rode a horse named Tiki. I rode a horse names King Arthur.

Fun with Friends

The Gessel's came in town for a week. We were able to see them a couple times, which was so fun!
We met up at a church with them, the Winters, Quigleys, Livingstons, Wilsons and Alicia's friend Andrea. Ben was there too with the Winters.

The Gessel's baby, Quincy. He's so cute!

Kenzie had a sleepover at Jenna's house with Lorelei and Delaynie.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day started out poorly.
Doug sprained his ankle at basketball in the morning. I took him to urgent care after I got home from seminary with Jackson.

It was very badly sprained so they gave him a boot.

Jackson made his siblings some Valentine's Day cards:
This one was for Coleman.

And the inside of Coleman's.

Jordan's card from Jackson. The front said something about Jackson putting money Jordan in the card for him.

Kenzie gave us stuffed animals. This is Doug with his.

Doug also got me some leggings for Valentine's day. For dinner we had a fondue night. I made some cheese and chocolate fondue and we had bread, steak, fruit, crackers, chips, and pretzels to dip in it. I thought it was really yummy!
