First Foods

We gave Coleman his first solid food today. We decided to go with some avocado instead of rice cereal which we gave to our other kids. He seemed to like it okay. He looked a little confused, but ate the food okay without spitting much of it out. Jackson was my photographer for the event and took a ton of pictures. I narrowed it down, but there are still a lot. I just love the different facial expressions he made.

Jordan started trying to get in the pictures with him. We had to send him away because he started putting his face and hands in front of Colie.

Happy to have real food!

6 Months Old

Coleman is already 6 months! Can you believe it? We definitely can't. He's getting so big so fast.

Here's some info about him these days:
He still loves being held and hates being alone.
When I go near him when he's sad he gets happy, but if I don't pick him up he starts crying.
He tries to put everything he gets his hands on his mouth.
He loves bath time.
He doesn't like laying down for very long.
He likes when the tv is on.
We sometimes still have a hard time getting him to sleep at night.
He's very smiley.
He likes when his brothers and sister jump.
He also likes when they play with and talk to him.
He loves playing with his feet and trying to eat them.
He likes to give and get kisses.
He loves being tickled.
As of about 2 weeks ago he weighed about 13.4 lbs (about 3rd percentile) and I think 24 inches (maybe around the 10th percentile?)
He doesn't sit or roll from his back to his tummy yet. But he's getting closer to accomplishing both.
He's still super cute.

Snowflake Lane

We went to Snowflake Lane on Thursday. We met my parents for dinner and then my mom came outside with us to Snowflake Lane. We had a blast, as always. Jackson was really excited when it started snowing and tried catching the snow. Jordan also was trying to catch the snow. Kenzie loved dancing to the music.

Cool Faces

I did Jackson and Jordan's hair into a mohawk and I wanted to take a picture of them. Jackson posed and I asked him why he was making the face he was for and he said it was his cool face. So we had fun making cool faces...

Cute Mackenzie

Kenzie found a little Santa in a rocking chair ornament on the carpet and set it up right then pulled a chair up next to it and sat down.

Waiting until Christmas...

We told Kenzie she had to wait until Christmas to open presents and this was her response:
This is what she does when she's mad. Although, we didn't have any presents under the tree at that time, so I'm not sure she knew what we were talking about. She may have just heard she couldn't do something and wasn't happy about that :)

She was happy after though.

We were trying to get her grumpy picture and she kept laughing.

She ended up not being able to wait until Christmas. She had one present under the tree and Jackson showed it to her. I told her she couldn't open it. She said she wanted to just hold it. Which she did for awhile. Then she took it upstairs when I wasn't looking and Jordan came down and told me she had opened it. It was just clothes, but she loved the pants that were in it and wanted to wear them. I was mean and told her she had to wait until Christmas. She wasn't very happy about that. Sometimes when she sees the presents under the tree she says "where's my present?"

Making and Eating Snowflakes

Last week we made some snow flakes and then we ate them. I got the idea from ourbestbites.com (you should check this blog out. it has yummy recipes.) It was fun and tasty activity.

We folded and cut tortillas the same way we do for paper snowflakes.

Then we buttered them and sprinkled them with a cinnamon/sugar mixture. The we baked them.

And then we ate them. They reminded me of crustos from Taco Time.

Even Jordan liked them.

After Jordan had been eating his for awhile, he held it up and said it looked like a kitty. And it really did.

Then Kenzie held hers up and said it was her Baby Jaguar.

Colie was there too.

The Tree

This year, thanks to a Plum District deal of the day, we went to a tree farm to cut down our Christmas tree. Part of the deal was a picture with Santa and a Sleigh ride, but we went during the week and apparently he's only there on weekends. We did get a picture of us in Santa's sleigh though. The lady was supposed to email it to me. But she didn't. Doug thinks that she just couldn't read my hand writing, which is very possible. Although I thought it looked very readable. Oh well. We have a hard copy of it. At first we were disappointed that Santa wasn't there and there was no sleigh ride (we did get a peek at the sleigh and it looked a lot like a hay ride at pumpkin patches), but after talking to the lady we were glad we didn't go on a Saturday because she said it's super crowded and they run out of parking places. We did get some free hot chocolate and popcorn with our tree. We loved being able to have so many options of what tree we got. Jackson got really cold by the end and claimed he didn't have any fun. But he really did. We all did. :)
Jack pulling and Jordan pushing Kenzie on the tree carrier.

When Kenzie saw all the trees she said "mountain!" I told her they were trees and she said "it's like a mountain."

Jordan being a tree on a stump.

Jackson brought some candy cane in case he got hungry.

Where's Jordan?
The winner! We think it's pretty perfect.

Doug cut down the tree.

Pulling the tree.

We decorated the tree the next day. We got a smaller tree than we normally do and I was happy it took much less time than normal to put the lights on.

I've been trying to have the boys learn the articles of faith and so since they know the word ordinences they kept calling the ornaments ordinances. :)

Don't you love her outfit? :) I think she had 2 long sleeve shirts, 1 short sleeve shirts, 2 or 3 night gowns, 1 pair of pajama pants, and 1 shoe. Instead of taking off her clothes when she brings me something else she wants to wear I usually just layer it on top of the others.

Kenzie wanted help with each ornament she put on the tree.
