Jordan's 6th Birthday!

Jordan turned 6! He had a great birthday!
He played the kindle in the morning.

Coleman wanted his picture taken after he saw me take one of Jack and Jordan.

The kids had swimming and piano that day. At swimming lessons Jordan said to his teach in the middle of the lesson, "Do you know how old I am?" She said "Uh... 6 or 7?" He said "6! and today's my birthday!" Haha I thought it was pretty funny :) At piano his teacher had him play the Happy Birthday song and she played it for him too :)

In the afternoon he watched the Domino's episode of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood (he loves that episode) and whatever episode was next. Then he played Donkey Kong Country with Jackson until
came home, around 4:30.

As soon as he was done playing the Wii he ran upstairs and started ripping off the wrapping paper from his presents. He didn't even wait for us to get up there. Luckily he wasn't too far ahead of us, so we didn't miss much.

He knew this present was from Kenzie. It was a Lego set.

He loved it. He did the same thing when he opened Jack's present to Jack, but I guess I didn't get a picture of that.

He needed his siblings help to get all the paper off this present.

He loves Bailey School Kids Jr books. They're the only chapter books he'll read without me reading with him.

He was so excited to get 2 sets of Magformers from us (plus a set from Grandma and Grandpa Riding)

And he was excited for some Tinker Toys. Almost all the presents he got from us were building toys: Tinkertoys, Legos, giant legos, and magformers.

Jackson got Jordan a snowcone maker and the flavors for it. They were really excited to try it out.

Jordan trying to open his envelope from the Kenyons.

Reading his cards from them.

We went to dinner with my parents to Red Robin. Jordan chose Red Robin because he wanted chicken strips and because Jackson told him that they come sing to you and bring you a treat. He mostly just wanted them to sing to him I think. He's not a big dessert person. :) He loved when they were singing.

My dad trying to make a Jordan smile.

Mackenzie was so sad that she didn't have a dessert. After giving Jordan his sundae, the waitress asked the rest of us if wanted dessert and everybody shook their heads, except Kenzie. She was nodding. We didn't get her any, but Jordan gave her his after he tried a few bites.

He's getting so big!

After Red Robin we went bowling. It was a lot of fun. I really like bowling :)

This is how Kenzie liked to go back to her seat after her turn.

We realized the last time we went bowling was for my birthday last year and it was so much easier this year. Last year Coleman wanted every turn to be his turn and we had to watch him to make sure he didn't run out when it was some else's turn so he wouldn't get hit by the ball. He just did what he was supposed to this year. It's kind of amazing the difference 1 year makes at his age.

I'm not sure what she was unhappy about...

Doug.

When we got home we sang happy birthday and had cake batter fudge.

Here's some things about Jordan:
He's easy going.
He doesn't complain.
He's happy.
He understands math really well.
He loves building toys.
He likes following directions to build things rather than making his own creation.
He loves riding bikes.
He's not that into sports.
He wears his yellow Great Wolf Lodge shirt most days lately (the one in the pictures above)
He loves to give hugs and kisses.
He's been doing good staying in bed at bedtime since we went to Texas.
He gets nervous in most movies, but not as much as he used to.
 He's a good eater.
He likes playing outside.
He likes reading science books as long as there are lots of pictures. He's currently reading one called "Lightening."
He loves playing with his siblings.
He loves peanut butter.
He's a fun, cute, sweet boy.

Another Bike Rider!

After seeing Jackson learn how to ride a bike Jordan was motivated to learn how to as well. He just started doing it on his own and figured it out pretty quickly.
His bike still had training wheels so he rode Jackson's. Then I took the training wheels off of Jordan's bike but it's harder to pedal then Jack's bike because the pedals don't spin very well. I need Doug to try to fix it...

Whenever it's sunny outside and at least kind of warm I have this great idea of us all going outside and the kids riding their bikes and me laying in my lawn chair reading a book. But after 10-15 minutes or so this boy always grabs his mitt, my mitt, and a ball and asks me to play catch.

We do have fun playing catch. I try to get him ready for baseball season by throwing fly balls, grounders, and just normal throws. Coleman always wants to play with us too.

Jackson was excited that Jordan learned how to ride his bike so when I went in to cook some dinner he offered to stay outside with Jordan so Jordan could keep riding his bike. He also wanted to take pictures of Jordan. The rest are pictures he took:

Jack's shadow.

This is the lawn chair I like to lay in. We had the same ones growing up and they are the best kind, if you ask me :) Mackenzie likes to make it into a house for her and her animals.

He learned on his last day as a 5 year old!

Jordan's Family Party!

Jordan had a fun family birthday party! Grandma and Grandpa Riding came, Konrad, Kimber, Sam, Camryn, and Keith, Cindy, Koda, and Bryer.

He wanted this crown to be his birthday crown. It's from Burger King... I thought that I should spray paint it and write birthday boy on it or something, but I didn't. He didn't end up wearing it on his birthday.

Jordan got a lot of presents he knew Doug would love so he kept running them to Doug after he opened them.

Kimber and Cam

He was singing "happy birthday to ME!" with us.

Jordan's Friend Birthday Party

We let Jordan have a friend party this year. He wanted it to be magnet themed.

They started out with a magnet monster craft.

Then they had to get a paperclip out of a cup of water with a magnet without getting the magnet wet. I forgot to take pictures of that game. Then they learned that magnets have north and south poles and then did some magnet racing.

They did some fishing.

On the back of the fish were things they had to do like jump around, hop like a frog, etc.

Then they played magnet tag.

Jordan opened presents. He was so excited about them all.

When I ask Jordan to smile I usually get this smile:

Or this one:
instead of his natural smile.

He wanted to have cake batter fudge instead of cake. It turned out really gooey, but most of the kids seemed to like it.

After the kids played with magnet toys or just played in the basement They built a tall tower that Doug put the kids into. They loved it and most wanted to show their moms when they picked them up.

Jordan thought it was SUPER FUN :)
