Jack went potty in his toilet today! I was so excited. It was the first time he'd gone in it. and he even said he had to go so it wasn't me just putting him on it. Then he ate some popcorn to celebrate. It's a great day!

Jordan Video
On Monday I was folding laundry next to Jordan. Then I left and went to get more clean clothes from the dryer. Jordan just laid there while I was gone, but when I came back he starting acting like this:
He must love his mommy, he was so excited to see me :) He was full of smiles that afternoon. Here are some pictures of his cute smile. I love how his tongue is on the top of his mouth in the first one. I think it's cute.

Fun in the sun
Last week was very warm from Thursday on. So we had to enjoy the sunny weather and spend the days outside. On Friday we went to the beach. Jack loved it. It was his first time going to the beach (I don't know why we didn't ever go last year). On the way there he kept saying "mama?" and I would say "yes?" and he would say "beach!" He did this almost every few minutes until we got there. He loved playing in the sand. The water was freezing cold so he didn't go in the lake. But he found some muddy water little-lakes next to the real lake and enjoyed playing and sitting in that water. He was really sad when we had to leave. On Friday we spent the morning in our little backyard. We filled up his pool and he went swimming. He loves swimming. He asked Sunday and Monday if he could go swimming and was very sad both days when I told him know... Hopefully it will be a warm summer so he can get a lot of swimming in.
We recently bought this baby bed for Jordan from someone on Craigslist. It was perfect for the beach. It has a net covering and folds up so it's easy to carry and fits between the boys' seats in their stroller. It was a great purchase!
Jack in the muddy puddle and loving it.
Alli, Gavin (Doug's cousin's son... His mom (Doug's cousin) is also really good friends with my sister. That's actually how we met them. Doug has more than a hundred cousins so he doesn't really know them all... or even most of them), and Jackson throwing sand in to the water.
Jordan fell asleep in his baby bed. He needed blanket because it was a little cold in the shade with the wind blowing.

Well, I decided to start trying to potty training Jackson. Trying is the key word. Jack doesn't have any interest in it. We started yesterday morning wearing real underwear. He didn't really want to put them on. He apparently likes diapers. He hasn't actually gone to the bathroom in the toilet yet, but I think we're making a little progress because he'll sit on the toilet without crying now. He just won't go. Today he went right after I sat him on the potty twice in his underwear. So I need advice. I know boys often don't potty train until later, but I think it Jack could do it. But I'd like to know if anyone has any success tips. What has worked for you guys that have potty trained your children (especially your boys)? How long does it usually take until they kind of start to get it? Is it normal to not have much success after two days?

I've been tagged
5 things I was doing 10 years ago:
1. I was in 7th grade.
2. Went to Disney Land with my family
3. Hung out with friends
4. I was excited to finally be a teenager
5. I was probably excited that it was almost summer vacation... I don't really remember what was going on in my life then... 7th grade wasn't too exciting I guess.
5 things on my to do list:
1. potty train Jackson
2. But before I really can potty train him I have to get him to not hate the toilet... He cries whenever I suggest sitting on it. But he'll have to learn to like it eventually.
3. the laundry
4. figure out what to do with all the piles of clothes I have recently acquired and are now sitting on my floor.
5. figure out where to put the new shelf I bought from a garage sale and put it there.
5 favorite snacks/foods:
1. waffles
2. fishies (gold fish crackers)
3. chocolate
4. oatmeal cookies
5. mashed potatoes
5 things I would do if I were a billionaire:
1. go on vacations with Doug to places like Hawaii
2. Pay off our house and cars
3. give money to people who need it
4. buy a dresser for my room so we don't have to use boxes and storage carts for our clothes.
5. buy a new house with a bigger kitchen that has a lot of cupboards and a pantry, more rooms (for all the kids we're going to have), and more storage space.
5 bad habits:
1. biting my fingernails... although I have gotten better and they're not as small as they used to be.
2. being late... although I really try to be on time everywhere.
3. Not planning enough time to get things done (which is why #2 happens)
4. wasting time when I there are things I really should be doing (like now)
5. being grumpy towards Doug when I feed Jordan in the night time
5 places I have lived:
1. Kearns Utah
2. Holladay Utah
3. Renton WA
4. Orem UT
5. Auburn WA

Funny Stuff
story #1
Jordan's head is a little flat from always looking to the left. I kept trying to make him look to the right, but he never wanted to. If he was looking at me I would turn him around, putting his feet when his head was, so that he would have to turn his head to the right to look at me. But it didn't usually work. He would find something else to look at. Only putting his head right up against the couch would make him look the other way. But he would get mad after being forced to look to the right very long. Then last week at his doctor's appointment, the doctor noticed his flat head and told me to have Jordan look the other way so his head wouldn't be so flat. I told him I try to, but he just doesn't cooperate very much. But ever since the doctor said to look the other way, Jordan does it. He sleeps facing the left. He moves his head around a lot more. I kept telling Jordan that he need to look the opposite way more often or else he might regret it later in life if his head stayed flat. I guess he needed a professional opinion before he would listen though.
story #2
Last week Doug and I were watching my sister's daughters. The kids were all sitting down for a snack, when the littlest one, who is two and half, said she had to go the bathroom. I told her to go to the bathroom and go. Then she said "I'm going!" She went to the bathrooom on our kitchen chair. Luckily I had some pull-ups for Jack that she could wear (she was excited to wear them) and some clothes that would fit her (good thing I went garage sale shopping last week). The rest of the night no one could sit on the chair since I put cleaning stuff on it. Then on Friday we watched the girls again. Alli wanted to sit in the same chair so I told her she could. As she was climbing on it, she said that she wouldn't go potty on it. It was pretty funny.
Cute things Jackson says:
He calls oranges "orange ones" So when he wants an orange he says I want an orange one. And when Doug and I eat one he says mommy (daddy) have orange one too.
When Jack wants help he'll say "momma help you" and when he wants to be held he says "momma hold you"... he doesn't quite understand what you means yet.
Today at church Jack had a poopy diaper during nursery so they brought him to me. When they were walking down the hall, he saw me in relief society and said "mommy!" really loudly. Everyone in relief society heard him. Many people laughed. It was very cute... and funny too.
On Jack's birthday he got a phone call from my sister and his grandma Dance. When they wished him happy birthday he said happy birthday back to them. Also, before his birthday we were teaching him how old he was. So to get him to say 2 after we asked him how old he was we would clap and say "yay" when he would say 2. When he was talking to grandma Dance a part of their conversation went like this:
Grandma "Happy birthday Jackson!
Jack "happy you"
Grandma sings happy birthday to Jackson
Jackson blows out imaginary candles
Grandma "how old are you"
Jack "2, yaaay" (while clapping)
Jack calls a lot of things ketchup. He calls syrup ketchup. and mustard and barbeque sauce, and really anything that comes in a bottle. We don't even have ketchup very often so I don't know why he calls so many things ketchup. It would make more sense for him to call it all syrup, which we have much more often.
Today the church building was so hot that Jack was sweating. I felt bad for him. We took off his tie, unbuttoned the top button of his shirt, took off his shoes and socks, fanned him and he was still sweating.... I guess we'll have to find him some short sleeve shirts that he can wear to church for the hot days this summer.

Two years and Two months
Jackson turned two yesterday and Jordan turned two months, so I took them both to the doctor today. At first I was excited that they would be 2 and 2 months at the same time so I would only have to make one visit. But after more thought, I realized that taking them both to be checked by the doctor would mean that they would both be given shots, which means more crying and more comforting I have to do. I don't mind comforting my children but doing it at the same time is a little tricky. But both boys did really well. Jackson didn't even mind when the doctor was doing the check up on him. Usually he wants me to hold him. But today I was getting Jordan dressed and the doctor has Jack sit on a chair and checked him out. Jack didn't whine or cry, he just did what the doctor asked him to do. The shots when ok too. The both cried. Jordan was happy once I put him in the carseat and Jack was happy when he knew we were done and were going to look at the fish and the water fountain in front of the doctor's office, which someone had put bubbles in and was therefore even more fun than normal to look at.

Jackson weighed in at about 20 lbs which is less than the 5th percentile. He's 34 1/4 inches tall which is about the 5th percentile. He is starting to grow out of some of his 12 month clothes. His pants are getting a little short, but they still fit him around the waste. Yesterday he was wearing 18 month pants and they kept falling off. He's just so skinny.
Jordan weighs 12.9 lbs. which is the 50th percentile. He is 24 3/4 inches tall which puts him at the 95th percentile. I guess it's time for me to move him into the next size of clothes. I haven't wanted to because it's my little baby isn't so little anymore. Oh well, he has to get bigger sometime and there will be more little babies someday.

Happy Birthday Jackson!
Today is Jack's 2nd birthday. I can't believe he's already two. He's such a fun little boy. We're so happy he's in our family. We had a birthday party for him yesterday. All day he was so excited for his birthday party. He'd say "birthday party, cake, happy you" It was cute. We had dinner, opened presents, sang happy birthday, ate cake and ice cream, then the kids played with Jack's new toys.
I bought a cool cupcake kit to make Jack's cake. It comes with different shaped cupcake cups ( I don't know what they're officially called) and you can arrange the cupcakes cups to make cool designs. It came with directions on how to make a rocket, a train, and a truck. Jackson wanted a rocket cake. It was really easy to make.
Playing t-ball with his new tee ball set. He loves putting stuff on top of the tee and hitting it. I gave him some cheese right before he ate some lunch today and he put it on the tee and hit it off. He also likes to use his new golf clubs to hit the balls off.

Garage Sale Fun
Yesterday, my sister Ashlee and I went to a huge neighborhood garage sale. This garage sale happens every year the day before Mother's day. Ashlee went last year and said there was a lot of good stuff. We got there at 8 in the morning yesterday and were there until about 2:30. We found a ton of great stuff. We filled up pretty much the entire van. We were planning on going grocery shopping afterwards, since the store was on our way home, but we didn't have enough room to put the groceries. It was a great day. I can't wait until next year when we get to go again!
This is the view from the side door.

The rocking chair for Jack is also a bouncy chair for Jordan. I've been wanting one of these for a long time. I'm glad I didn't buy one new... This one only cost three dollars. I love garage sales.

Anniversary
Today is mine and Doug's anniversary. We've been married for three years now. We're going to celebrate by going out to dinner then to a time share presentation. We're supposed to get a free three day/two night vacation just for going to listen to the 45 minute presentation. Sounds like it's too good to be true... we'll find out if it is pretty soon.
Blessing Day
Doug blessed Jordan this past Sunday. Doug's parents flew in on Friday and stayed until Sunday. We had a fun and busy weekend with them. After church on Sunday, everyone came over to our house to eat lunch and spend the afternoon with us. We enjoyed spending time with some of our family. Thanks for coming!

Cool Camera
As I said in a previous post, Doug gave me a new camera for my birthday. It has a lot of cool features to it. It can take picture that are mostly black and white but some color show up. Some of mine and Doug's wedding pictures are like this and I really liked them. So I was excited to see that my new camera could do this too. I had a lot of fun taking pictures today using this cool feature. Here are some of the pictures I took.
Glasses
I bought Jackson some new glasses this past week. He loves them and so do his cousins. Here are some cute picture of the kids in his glasses.
Happy You
This is what Jack calls the happy birthday song. My birthday was last week and Jack loved singing happy birthday to me and everyone else he knows. Doug gave me a new digital camera and it records movies with sound. Now I can post movies with sound instead of just silent ones. Doug and I love this one of Jack singing "happy you mommy." It's pretty funny. Can you tell what Jack's saying at the end after he sings? (sorry it's sideways)
