Wind Storm

Washington had a bomb cyclone yesterday. It was super windy and a lot trees and power lines fell. So many people lost power and are still without power. We lost it last night from about 11:30-5:30, which is more than we've ever lost power in this house before. Doug was traveling for work in California, so he missed all the excitement. I was glad we don't have any tall trees around our house so I wasn't too worried during the storm.
This is a map of the power outages yesterday evening. Kenzie wanted to go play volleyball at the stake center, so I was checking frequently to see if the power was there. I didn't want to go, but we went and had a good time.

Our fence was a little damaged in the storm.

Our neighbor's fence was worse.

Kenzie babysat this morning and the kids had piano so we could see all the fallen trees and branches along the road. Kent wasn't too bad, but as we got more into Covington the damage was worse.

We had to go a different way to and from piano because a tree had fallen on a car on our normal route.

Swim Team

Jordan started the Kentwood swim team this week! He said it was really tiring, but fun! After the first practice, he wanted to go to Big 5 and buy a swim cap, goggles, and new swim shorts.

Lakewood Fall 2024 Rubik's Cube Competition

Jordan had another Rubik's Cube Competition on Saturday. He was trying to get under a minute on his Megaminx so he would qualify to register this Friday for the World Championships (that will be held in Seattle next summer!) If his average wasn't under a minute, he would have to wait a while longer until the next phase to register would open. He did it! We were all so excited for him!

The times at the top are for the 3x3.

Dip n Dots

We got Kenzie venmo so she can be paid directly for all her babysitting. And then she got apple pay so she can pay for things more easily. She was excited to see that Defy has a Dip n Dots machine and that it accepts apple pay.

I thought the machine would make the bowl of dip n dots, but it just took out a container of it. Kenzie kept asking herself it was worth $6. She kept saying no.

Until she finally started eating it and thought it might just be worth it.

NBA League Pass

Doug got the NBA League Pass so he can watch all the basketball he wants.
He can watch four games at once!

I'm excited to watch the Warriors more while wearing my newest thrift store find!

Ravens Fan

Kenzie and recently become a huge Ravens fan. She used some of her babysitting money to buy socks, a jersey, and purple pajama pants.

Music in Church

Since October, Jordan has been playing the postlude music on the second Sunday since the organist teaches Relief Society those weeks. I thought he'd just play the piano, unless the organist showed him how to play the organ, but he started with the organ. He already had some experience playing it before, which I'd forgotten.
Playing the organ

He also played a musical number in November. He did a fantastic job!

Finance Park

Coleman went to Finance Park. When the kids were younger they went to BizTown at the same place. BizTown is a lot more fun, but the kids all still seemed to have fun at Finance Park.
First they took a career survey.

There were words of wisdom on all the walls.

They learned about budgeting and the different expenses they'll have as adults. They were given tablets and personas. Coleman was a paralegal with a wife and two kids. Then they had to make a budget based on the income they were given. After making a budget, they had to choose items to purchase and see if they budgeted the correct amount for each category.

T-rex, Coelman, Ben. We signed up because T-rex's mom said he'd be there and would love for Coleman to go too. But Coleman was really excited Ben was there too! Graham was also there, but was in a different group so they didn't see each other as much.

Haircuts

Jordan and Doug got haircuts!

Mackenzie's New Friend

Mackenzie saw this at Winco on sale after Halloween and convinced me to buy it. For the next few days she set kept blowing it up in the house.

Besties!

WWU Tennis Club

Jackson his playing tennis on Western's competitive tennis club. He's having a lot of fun and has been playing lots of tennis. They don't have an indoor court to use until the winter quarter (which starts in January) so when the weather is bad they can't play as much. They had a tournament in Oregon. He said he lost all his matches (I think the whole team did), and that the other teams there were really good. He played singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.

Volleyball

Kenzie and Jordan are playing Covington volleyball this year. They're having lots of fun! Their teams are both really good.

October Pictures

I saw some Shaq-A-Licious gummies when I was placing my grocery order. I thought they were funny and there was a coupon for them so I bought some. No one really liked them though.

But they were funny with Shaq's face on them!

We had a ward youth temple trip. Kenzie had a soccer game so she didn't come, but Coleman, Jordan, and I went.

Lorelei and Kenzie went to the pink out Kentwood football game.

We got some froyo on the way home from one of Kenzie's soccer games.

Kenzie and Delaynie dressed as minions for a Kentwood football game.

Delaynie made the goggles they were wearing. I thought they were so fun!

Kenzie waking up for church...

Kenzie surprised me for my half birthday! Once she gave me the card an her Reese's, Coleman ran to his candy bag and gave me his Reese's too, along with the card she made :)

Halloween!

Coleman, Mikah, and Blake carved pumpkins at the Ramsays.

Jackson and his friends, Isabelle, Leilani, and Jake dressed up for Halloween. Jackson was the singer from Green Day. These are friends from the tennis club.

We went to the Wilson's house for their flashlight candy hunt. It was a small group this year, just us, the Wilsons, Rabans, and Greens. The kids had to work harder for their candy because there wasn't as much as normal. But everyone still had a great time!

Jordan carved a pumpkin at a stake youth Halloween party.

Kenzie went trick or treating with Lorelei and Morgan. They dressed up as Gilmore Girls characters. Kenzie was Rory, Lorelei was Lorelai, and Morgan was Luke.

Coleman decided to not trick or treat. He decided it was too much work to get $20 from the orthodontist:) Jordan also just wanted to stay home.

Kenzie got lots of candy!

She gave some to Doug!

We carved pumpkins after Halloween.

Jordan made a puzzle pumpkin.

You could take out the pieces...

And then put them back in.

Twins!

Coleman said he just cut randomly

And this is what it ended up looking like.
