Wild Waves

We went to Wild Waves today, even though it was a little cold and rainy. That just meant the lines were really short.
After riding all the crazy rides at Lagoon, Kenzie was finally ready for the Ring of Fire. She loved it!

Camryn and Coleman
Cam and Alli met us there too while Ashlee is cleaning their house, getting ready for renters to stay in their house while they are away for the next couple weeks. Isn't Cam so cute with her new glasses!?!

Baby Annelise

Mackenzie's friend Holly has a baby sister. Kenzie played with her on Thursday for a little while and now loves her. She drew a picture of them together.

Rainiers' Game

Jackson performed with his group violin class at a Tacoma Rainiers' game. They did a great job!
He's in the back row. The third head, I think. His hair is blondish.

Jordan and Kenzie (and the kitties...she's obsessed with kitties right now:))

Doug, Coleman, me

Jackson

We only stayed a couple hours. Kenzie forgot a jacket and everyone (besides Jackson) was wearing shorts and flip flops so we were getting cold once the sun started going down. I had a good time watching baseball though:)

Kitties!

Our friends, the Wilsons and Rabans recently got some kitties. They live next to each other and when we dropped Kenzie's friend Jenna off at her house after activity days, Kenzie needed to see all the kitties. We were there for about a half hour and she still wanted to keep playing with them so she was invited to come back Friday (with her brothers) to play with the kids and the kitties. She was so excited and set out an outfit the night before:
She, of course, picked a shirt with kitties on it.

She loved the entire afternoon of playing with the kitties (and her friends too:)) And every once in awhile will get sad and tell me she misses the kitties.

Bunny and Driving Home

On Tuesday morning the kids played the Roberts' virtual reality games, we also played Nertz, and Doug pulled out his Switch so they could try Arms and Super Smash Bros.
Carinn also caught a wild bunny. Kenzie, Linc, and Ashton all loved it.

This trip I drove most of the time. I decided if I make Doug drive everywhere because of my hatred of flying, I should at least let him play video games while we drive. So that's what we did most of the time. He thought it was the best car trip ever :) But when we got gas he would fill it up for us and sometimes clean the window for me. He's such a gentleman :)

Lagoon!

On Monday, we went to Lagoon! I've been wanting to go for many years, and we finally were able to make it happen. It was as fun as I remember it being when I was a kid :)

I spent the day with these two mostly. None of us like roller coasters or any crazy rides. We did the kiddie rides in the morning.

This ride operator was so slow. To every plane he came to, he would say "put your hands up.  Down. Up" and then check their buckles. And he did the same thing when he let them off. He had to unbuckle all their belts with a special tool.

Jordan, Kenzie, Eva, Coleman, Doug on the log ride.

Jackson, Alyssa, Brian, Ashton

We spent a few hours in Lagoon a beach in the afternoon. Jackson and Ashton are in the green tubes in the middle of this pictures.

Carinn

Doug

Apparently, this slide twists a little bit and when got off he was dizzy.  He had a hard time standing up and then when he started walking, he tipped over a bit. It was really funny :)

Alyssa and Carinn drying off and relaxing.

Kenzie

Me with Brian in the background.

Doug

Brian pulled out some cookies and the kids were like little birds trying to get some.

Doug stayed with Coleman, Carinn, and me the rest of the day because he had a slight headache.

Me and Carinn

Coleman and Carinn on Puff the Magic Dragon. This was my favorite ride when I was little.

Doug and I got to sit by each other on a ride. That doesn't happen very often (partly because we like completely different rides most of the time. I like spinny and he likes big drops, and I hate big drops and he hates spinny.)

While Carinn and Coleman were on the Swings (one of their favorite rides from the day) Doug and I noticed some guys pulling out their Switch and playing. Haha

Another of my favorites was Music Express.

Doug did a 3 point shooting contest. Some teenage boys stopped to watch and were very impressed with his shooting skills :)

He won a basketball!

And another of my old favorites. Tilt a Whirl! I remember my mom would ride this with me sometimes, and then feel sick the rest of the day.

Kenzie, me, Coleman, Eva

The kids (besides Carinn and Coleman) rode this crazy ride. It spins 3 different ways. The kids all loved it. I think they're crazy :)

All the kids besides Carinn and Coleman rode this ride. I rode it once when I was younger and I didn't realize it went upside down until I was going upside down. It was not very happy.

Coleman, Eva, Kenzie. Kenzie had so much playing with Eva all weekend long. Usually they are both shy for awhile when we get together, but this time they just jumped right into playing together.

Kenzie wanted to photo bomb his picture.

Alyssa, Ashton, Jordan, Jackson, Coleman, Carinn, Eva, Kenzie

We stayed until it closed at 10, then when we got to our car, it wouldn't start. Brian had to jump us. We were really worried that something serious had happened, especially since we were planning on starting the drive home the next day. But when Doug took it in in the morning, they mechanic said that it was just a loose battery cable. He tightened it up for us and everything has worked perfectly since.

BYU

On our way to Candis' after the reunion we stopped at BYU to walk around. It had been a long time since we'd been there. It was fun to see the campus again and reminisce.

Dance Family Reunion

As soon as the Kenyons left to go home we left for our Dance Family reunion.
We stopped in Baker City to sleep. The kids swim for a little bit in the morning before heading out.

Tina's uncle owns a cabin in Oakley Utah that he lets family use for free. It was huge and so nice. There was enough room for each family to have their own room. Since we were the first to arrive (besides Brian and Tina) we got the master suite (Brian and Tina wanted to be in the basement because it was cooler down there.)

Jackson and Coleman played a double Monopoly game.

Kenzie read several books.

We played volleyball. It was really windy so if you were on the side all the boys were on it was much easier because you would just have to barely touch the ball and it would fly over the net.

Kenzie playing horseshoes.

Jackson set up a tetherball tournament. Doug and Tyler were grunting like tennis players when they played each other.

Jackson keeping track of winners and losers.

Kenzie, Gracie, Alyssa, Tyler

Shawnee and Tyler playing tetherball.

Darrin walked across the stream with his socks, shoes, and jeans on.

Shawnee brought painting materials and the kids painted rocks.

Shawnee and Rose painted the kids.

Shawnee put pineapple on Kenzie's hand.

And Rose put a star on Kenzie's cheek.

Brian and Carson playing in the tetherball semifinals.

Tyler was the champion for the adults, and Jackson was the champion for the kids, so they played each other. Tyler was the ultimate champion. Not surprising since height is a very big part of tetherball.

Daisy, Gracie, Shawnee, Kenzie

The neighbors had a huge swing. My kids were all too nervous to try it from the platform that had a a lever that would make the floor drop and send you swinging. But they tried it starting from the ground.

Kenzie

Brian, Jackson, Gracie. Gracie swinging from the ground too.

Jackson swinging.

Darrin, Carson, Grandma, Gracie, Lila, Avery, Tyler

Jordan decided he wanted to go on it from the platform. He got the harness on.

But when he stepped up to the edge he changed his mind.

Carson swinging.

On the Fourth of July we went in to town to a pizza place for dinner. It was really yummy pizza.

Aston and Alyssa
Ash ordered a personal pizza, which they made wrong the first time they brought it out. They put in another pizza twice, and both times it disappeared. One of the employees said the only way he'd feel good about losing her pizza twice was to give the kids free ice cream. So all kids (I think there were about 18) got free pizza. And they still brought Ashton her pizza. She was the hero of the night :)

Kenzie

On Friday, some people hiked up the mountain next to us. Doug took Kenzie and Coleman, but they didn't last long. The trail ended soon after they started and then they were hiking through a muddy trail Carson was making. All the little kids that went ended up coming back with a parent pretty quickly.

After lunch we went to the lake to do some kayaking and a little swimming:
Jordan

A girl boat, and boy boat.
Alyssa, Ashton, Eva, and Anna.
X, Isaac, and Mckay

Brian took Jackson, Jordan, and Coleman out.

Eva, Mckay, X, Carinn, Ashton, Kenzie, Alyssa, Lincoln

The kids kept going in one at a time to see if they were brave enough to dunk themselves in the cold water. The boys were playing a game sometimes and whoever lost had to do it.

It took Kenzie awhile to do it, but she finally did.

She was so cold the rest of the time we were there.

Doug tried to nap.

Everyone relaxing

Ryan, Ashton, Eva, Anna, Linc

Candis, Rose, and Shawnee

Joan will all her sons that were at the reunion.

Darrin noticed Doug was posing for me, so he jumped in the picture too :)

Tyler, Brian, Joan, Darrin, Doug

Lila watching Eva and Linc play tetherball.

Apparently the Dances have weird thumbs that bend backwards.

My creepy husband.

Friday evening some kids played the piano, Anna played the guitar, and we had a planking contest.

Gracie was the winner for the kids.

The Tyler and Brian (and maybe others, I was upstairs with Jordan) tried to kick the ceiling.

Brian's attempt.
Jordan swinging. The easy way to tell that it's Jordan is by his Covington sport shirt. He told me that's pretty much all he packed.

Kenzie swinging.

Kenzie almost went from the platform, but changed her mind right before she was about to drop. She later regretted not doing it. But she was so scared she was shaking after.

Rose, Tyler, Avery, Gracie, Lila

Kenzie resting in a hammock.

Jordan resting on another hammock. The evening before he had been riding on the zip line and when he got off, the seat smashed into his mouth. His teeth cut the lower inside part of his lip. It was bleeding a lot and hurt really bad all night long. Luckily it healed pretty quickly and wasn't hurting too badly when he work up in the morning. He mostly at Gogurt and otter pops the first half of the day. Poor kid!

Carson, Daisy, Shawnee, Darrin

David, Deveny, Preston, Mckay, Brooklyn.

Brian, Tina, Carinn, Alyssa, Ashton. They are going to have a new baby boy in a couple months!

Candi, Ryan, X, Eva, Isaac, Linc, Anna

The adults played a few games of Puerto Rico. It's a pretty serious, quiet game.

The 2006 cousins: Jackson, Mckay, Carinn, Isaac. The kids played a lot of Code Names. They also played a lot of Mafia.

Jordan read the rules of Puerto Rico so he would know how to play.

The kids (and occasionally an adult joined in) played Scum. The kids said Isaac was really lucky as President:)

All the cousins that came to the reunion. Randy's and Jason's families weren't able to make it this year. Jason's family was in Hawaii and Japan. And Darrin's married kids weren't there. We missed them all :)

The family

Carson and Preston climbed up this mountain. We could barely see them as they climbed. Preston was easier because he was wearing a red shirt.

We played some more horse shoes.

Grandma challenged some of the kids to arm wrestling. She beat them all easily. Then she beat Candis. Then Candis arm wrestled Isaac and beat him.

It was such a fun reunion! All the kids get along so well. They just ran off and played the entire day.  The parents all get along well too:)

We can't wait until next year! We're in charge so hopefully we'll be able to make it just as fun!
