Hawaii Day 10 - Sunday

Yesterday we went to church in the morning, relaxed for awhile after church, then hiked the Hau'ula Loop.
Ashlee straightened Kenzie's hair before church.

Hau'ula Loop Hike:

Alli, Coleman, Jordan, Jackson

 Sam

We were tired from hiking uphill.

It had some nice views.

Cute sisters!

We separated into a few different groups during the hike. At this point we were almost half way, and Richard came to us and said it was really muddy ahead. My mom, Ashlee, Alli, Kimber, Jack, and I turned around and went back the way we came in while the others continued on.

These are growing out of the tree. I'm not sure if they're part of the roots or something else, but they were really cool looking.

There's graffiti along the wall that leads to another trail. We walked along the wall and saw them.

We were really impressed by Santa.

The sign says, "Jack is cool"

The plant growing at the bottom of the bananas looks like the chomping plant from Super Mario.

On the way home we stopped at a beach to see some monk seals.

Jack sat and played in the sand. I guess he didn't find the monk seals too interesting.

Doug's picture from the hike.

That night we played some games (which happen most nights, usually Hearts once the little kids go to bed. The big kids like to play hearts with Grandpa, and some of the other adults join in too if needed.) Coleman was playing Hearts before he went to bed, and all of a sudden he stood on his chair and put his hands in the air. He started shouting "I shot! I shot! I shot the moon!" and jumped off his chair and ran around the room. He was so excited and had the biggest smile on his face the rest of the night. (Shooting the moon is when he gets all the hearts and the queen of spades, which are all usually worth points but when you get them all you get no points and everyone else get 26, and you don't want points in Hearts.) Shooting the moon made it so Coleman won the game so he was doubly excited. This morning, the first thing he talked to me about was how he shot the moon. He face lights up whenever we talk about it :)
After the kids went to bed, we convinced the Kenyons to stay up past 8:30 and play Code Names. We also got my mom to play. The girls won 4 of the 5 rounds. Michelle also made some S'more Bites for us. It was a great day and night!
