Dance Family Reunion

We had the Dance Family Reunion at Candis' house this year. She did a great job hosting. Everyone had such a great time and loved being together.
Friday night after dinner we played kickball. It was kids vs. adults. The kids won, but that was partly because we generally didn't get out anyone 8 or under and partly because they bunted a lot and the ball traveled too slowly to first to get them out.

Then next morning we played at the park.

Tyler organized a game of soccer. Kenzie and Eva were team captains and it ended up being my family plus Isaac against everyone else who was playing because Kenzie picked all of us.

Slowly, everyone left soccer to play a keep the ball off the ground game that Darrin's family was playing. Soon our whole team was still playing, but only Lincoln and Brian were on the other team. Lincoln is pretty amazing, so it was still a good game:)

Soon we all joined the keep the ball of the ground game. We counted how many times we could hit it before it hit the ground. It took a long time, but we eventually made it to 40. Our next high score  was 20 or less I think, so 40 was very exciting.

Coleman and Lincoln

There was a lot of 9 square played. The goal is to keep the ball of the ground of your square, but try to get on the ground of someone else's square or make someone else hit it out. The person in the middle is the king and everyone time someone gets out, they have to got to the back of the line and everyone behind them moves up a square. Everyone love it!

Eva, Jordan, and Kenzie were slipping and sliding.

X kept everyone cool by spraying them with the hose.

After lunch we walked to the aquatic center and swam for a couple hours. It was nice to cool off for awhile because it was so hot outside!

Coleman popping out of the water.

Coleman has become such a good little swimmer.

Ashton doing a fancy jump.

Anna, Lauren, Coleman, Carinn, Alyssa
Coleman wanted to go in the hot tub, but apparently he couldn't because he wasn't 16. But he could put his feet in. These girls joined him too.

Avery and Isaac
Shawnee created a relay race for the kids to do. It was a lot of fun to watch. But the best part was watching Shawnee show the kids what to do. She slid down the slip and slide while in her normal clothes, including a skirt. I wish I would have known she was going to do that, I would have got a picture or video of her.

The kids also had a lot of fun with water balloons. They especially loved filling up these large balloons and jumping with them. They were surprisingly hard to break.

Hunter, Lauren, and Landon took some of the little kids to practice batting. I love how all the big kids in the Dance family are so great with all the little ones.

Kenzie was so tired after going to bed at midnight Friday night (and not getting as much sleep as normal the night before in the hotel, or the night before because we were up late for the 4th of July.) The poor girl had a headache. She was worried she was getting sick, but I was pretty sure she was just overly tired. She had a headache most of Sunday too, but woke up feeling great today after getting 11-12 hours of sleep last night :)

The kids played 9 square for a couple hours after dinner.

The parents sat and chatted.
