We went to the Crabtree's house on Labor Day for our last day at the lake. It was perfect weather and a great day!
The kids always have fun playing with Ollie!
I don't remember why he was sad, but he was sad for a bit. Maybe he just didn't want to do anything. Or maybe he got
Doug, Coleman, and Jordan on kayaks.
Jackson joined them on a paddleboard.
Kenzie jumping in.
She slid in from the floating thing.
Konrad starting teaching Ollie how to swim with a life jacket on. It was pretty fun to watch. He wasn't a huge fan of the water, but did better each time Konrad put him in.
Jordan
Jordan again.
Doug and Coleman
Jackson
Ashlee took a few pictures of Doug, Coleman, and I on the floating thing.
We ate dinner at the Crabtree's house. After Konrad took Doug, and several kids out on the boat. When they got back in Konrad rushed in house and called for the rest of the kids to come help get all the tubes back on the trampoline because they were blowing away. We went out and the kids gathered them up, while Doug jumped in the kayak and grabbed the ones that landed in the lake.
With the wind a bunch of smoke blew in. A huge fire started in Sumner that night and lasted most of the week. Some of Ashlee's friends (and a couple of mine) had to evacuate their homes in case they caught fire, fortunately their homes made it through. In all I think only 2 houses ended burning down, which is much less than was anticipated. All week long, and most of the next week, the air quality was awful. Smoke blew in from California and Oregon, which combined with the smoke from fire in WA, and it was made the air awful. Everyday we would ask our Echo for the air quality and every day it would say it was very unhealthy. It was a relief when rain finally came and helped clean the air (although after a week of rain, we're ready for our normal sunny, warm, perfect September to come back :)).
