Hawaii Day 16

This morning we went to Pipeline. Most of us haven't been there before. The waves were too big for any of my kids to swim in. Plus we didn't want them to get sucked out into the ocean... But the dads and some of the older kids swam.

Doug helping Kenzie jump the waves (even though you can't see Kenzie.)

Richard got soaked trying to get a good picture of the waves. Hopefully his camera was waterproof!:)

Coleman said "take a picture of me!" And struck this pose.

 "and now a silly face!"

My dad was in the water pretty much the whole time.

Coleman wouldn't smile with me. Instead he pretended to sleep. The kids were a bit (and by a bit I mean a lot) whiny while we were there. Fun times. :)

Doug decided to do handstands. I don't think I've ever seen him to a handstand ever before.

Then he ran over to Colie like this.

Richard skim boarding. Or skim surfing. I don't remember what Doug calls it.

 Doug

 Doug again.

Cam told Ashlee "I want a picture with Kenzie!"  Later Kenzie was eating lunch and she wanted to share her lunch with Cam because Cam likes her :)

The water came up and got their toes and the towel wet. Doug helped them move back. Cam cried at first when the water got them, but after she was in the new spot she kept looking at Kenzie and laughing, "Water get us." or something like that. She said it over and over again. It was cute and funny.

The kids made up a ninja game. If you hit someone's arm they can't use it anymore. When they lose both arms you win. Everyone had fun playing it.

The found a crab on the beach (in the center of this picture.)

Richard picked up a crab (a different one I think.)

My dad asked Jackson if he was bored. Jackson said "Not anymore. When I find something fun I can make a game out of it and not be bored anymore."

Since we were so close to Haleiwa we had to stop by Matsumotos' and get shave ice.
Shave ice turns our tongues colors. Although none are usually as bright as Michelle's coconut tongue.

 Her teeth eve turn pink.

 Kenzie's turned blue.

Kenna, Jack, Jordan. Jordan likes to stir his together. Jack chose candy instead of shave ice today. And poor Colie couldn't have any munchies because they didn't have the flavor he likes. He was fine with it though and settled for a drink of water from the drinking fountain.

Alli decided to get a coke slurpee from somewhere nearby. I think some of my kids were a bit jealous.

 Doug and me.

 Doug and me again :)

We were going to go to Haleiwa Beach, but it was rocky and the water was calm so we decided to go back to Turtle Bay.
Michelle and Kimber in the best spots at the beach.

Jordan loves snorkeling. His swimming has improved so much while we've been here. He's much more confident with it.

 Alli, Jack, and Coleman.

We set up our sheets and towels in the grass. Coleman was up there and said he didn't want to go in the water or sand. I went down to the water with Kenzie, Jordan, and Jackson. Right after I sat down Coleman was there and said he wanted to stay with me. And that he tricked me because he did want to play in the water.

Kenzie the puppy and Nati. Although with Nati sticking her tongue out you would think she was the puppy :) They play puppy all the time. Before dinner tonight they were playing it and Cam was playing too. She told me she was the kitty. They're all so cute!

 Nati, Kenzie, Alli.

 Colie

Me making sure the children don't drown.

My parents had family home evening tonight.

After getting Kenzie and Colie in bed Doug and I went to Temple Beach to star gaze. We didn't get to see much because soon after we laid down the clouds came and covered up the stars. We waited awhile to see if they'd blow away, but more kept coming. And it started raining. We'll try again another night. The area was really dark and we could see a lot of stars until the clouds hid them.  There's supposed to be a meteor shower this week and Doug's hoping to see it.
We tried to take a picture of us together but we were too close for the flash to work. The pictures turned out black so we had to settle for individual shots.

 The beach

 The sky :)

We found a street light to take a picture of us together :)
