Fantasy Lights

Last week we went to Fantasy Lights. It's a park that you can drive through that has a lot of fun light displays. The kids loved it.

Ready to start looking at the lights.

It's kind of hard to see but in the trees there's a golfer light display. He would swing the golf club and hit the ball and it would fly a little ways. It was pretty cool. I think my dad needs one of these for his yard.

a pirate ship

UFO

a basketball player. He would shoot the ball and make a basket. I was impressed by all the moving displays like this one and the golfer. We all enjoyed all of it. I think we might make it a yearly tradition. Unless the lights are the exact same every year. That might get a little boring then.

School Christmas Party

We went to Jack's preschool party last week. The kids had fun playing bingo, decorating cookies and eating them, and making a cool Christmas tree decoration. I think that's everything they did.

Decorating cookies

Eating their cookies and some other treats.

Rocking around the Christmas Tree

We decorated the Christmas tree last week. The kids loved doing it.
Jackson

Jordan

Jackson loves holidays and loves decorating for them.

Jordan and me being cheesy.

Doug decorating.

We let Jordan put the star on top this year. Jackson wasn't very happy about that.

But Jordan was.

The boys in front of the finished tree. It has a changed since then though. Kenzie was sleeping when we decorated it and the next day she took off all the ornaments she could reach and I rehung them up high out of her reach.

Cute brothers.

Peanut Butter Boy (and other pictures)

Jordan loves peanut butter. He eats peanut butter sandwich waffles for breakfast.

He eats peanut butter sandwiches for lunch. And he usually requests it for lunch and snacks too. His favorite cereal is Reese's Puffs, which also is made with peanut butter.

We went to the mall last week and let the kids ride on the little merry go round. It was Kenzie's first time. She was a little nervous, but I think she liked it. She had a little smile on a lot of the time.

Cute Kenzie

Mackenze was really hungry and wanted to make sure that she got every last piece of her oatmeal.

It's the Holiday Season

I love Christmas time. I love doing all the fun things there are to do this month. Last week we went to Snow Flake Lane with my mom and sister and her kids. We go every year now. There's Christmas music playing, people in costumes walking around (like a polar bear and snow princess) and they give out suckers. Then there's a parade of drummers and the snow falls. The kids loved it. Jordan was dancing most of the time. He was pretty cute. Jackson liked trying to catch the snow. I think he was even trying to catch it with his tongue, which is pretty gross because the snow is actually bubbles, but it looks like snow as it's falling. Mackenzie was even happy even though it was really close to her bedtime and that usually means it's her grumpy time.

After the drummers come in the parade they each have one of these things to stands on to play their drums on.

Cute Jordan.

This is probably why Kenzie was happy most of the time. She got a sucker too. We didn't let her eat it though. But she still liked chewing on it.

Jordan loved his sucker. After he finished he held out his sticky hands and said he wanted another one.

My husband and me.

I'm not sure what he's doing here... Maybe trying to eat the snow? He should have looked up more if that was his goal though.

We also had our church Christmas party on Saturday. It was the last activity I was in charge of as activity chairman. They no longer have that calling in the church anymore. And I'm so happy for that change :) I definitely prefer nursery (although, I'm only going to be in there until January when I'll move up with the Sunbeams. I'm not sure how Jordan will do when I leave him again. He told me on Sunday that he likes when I go to nursery with him and every Sunday he asks me if I'm coming with him. He'll probably be fine though. Maybe just a little sad at first). But back to the Christmas party... We had fun, but I'm so glad it's over. Santa did make an appearance at the party.

I didn't know how Jordan would do with Santa this year. Last year he was too afraid to sit on his lap. But this year he knows a little more about Santa. And we've seen Santa at the mall. Jordan was a little scared then, but when Santa offered him a candy cane Jordan thought he must be ok. But I still didn't know if he would sit on Santa's lap. When it was our turn Jack said he wanted Jordan to go first, but Jordan didn't seem to like that idea. So I was trying to convince Jack to go first to show Jordan that Santa isn't scary and Jordan just ran up there and sat on his lap. That kid is always surprising me. After I asked him was he told Santa he wanted, and he said he told him he wanted a "candy can." He may have just told me that though since Santa gave him one.

Jackson was happy to sit on Santa's lap once he saw Jordan do it. I think he would have done it even if Jordan wouldn't have though. He was a little nervous because he didn't know what to tell Santa he wanted. He ended up going with "I don't know."

Mackenzie didn't like Santa. I didn't know how she'd do. She was fine when Doug was starting to hand her over to him, but then she started crying. So we let her get off. No point in scarring the young child right? :)

Presents with a 2 year old

I asked Jordan what he wanted for Christmas and he said...

"an umbrella, a piggy bank, and a cup." Then he went on to say he wanted a huge cup and he put his hands over his head and said "this big."

When Doug asked him what he wanted, he said...

"and umbrella." Doug asked him what else and he said "another umbrella." Then he said he wanted a shovel.

This year we're letting the kids pick out presents for each other and Doug and me. On Saturday we had planned to go to a store and the kids were going to shop with Doug while I got my hair cut (the hair place was closed so we ended up not doing either). Doug told Jordan he couldn't tell me what they get me. Jordan said "It's a shovel." I guess that's what he wants to get me :)

Yesterday I took Jack out to get Jordan's present. When we were eating dinner he told Jordan "When I went to Target with mommy I wanted to get you a piggy bank and mommy said no." Jordan put on his sad face and said "oh." That's when he decided he wanted one.

Snow

It snowed a ton (well for Washington) the week of Thanksgiving. Doug worked from Monday through Wednesday and took Thursday and Friday off so it was a fun week for us. We didn't go anywhere until Thanksgiving since the roads were icy and we really didn't have anywhere we needed to be, although my sister was in town and would have been nice to see her more. Too bad we weren't all stuck together. By Thanksgiving it has warmed up enough that the roads were mostly clear and we were able to easily drive to my parents house. We had a great Thanksgiving there. The food was perfect and it was fun spending time with family and friends. I don't have any pictures from the day though. But I do have some of the snow.

Jackson all ready to go out.

Jack in the snow.

Jordan in the snow. This is the first year he's played in the snow. Last year it didn't snow really at all and the year before he was a baby and had to watch the fun from inside. I think he loved it.

Jordan having fun. He had to wear my gloves because the ones I had for him were too small and not really waterproof and got soaked when he put them in the ice water in the water table. The gloves were huge on him but they worked.

Jackson loved throwing snow at everyone. Luckily I was inside taking this picture so he didn't actually get me. He kept throwing snowballs and Jordan and Jordan hated it. So we had to put an end to that.

Making snow angels.

Kenzie missed out on the fun because she was sick for the week. Look how sad she looks. She never lays down like this, except when she's going to bed of course. She was a sad little girl. Since Doug was working from home all week she wanted him to hold her most the time. He did some of the time, but it was kind of hard for him to work like that.
