Fourth of July

Doug went golfing on the 4th of July so the kids and I started out our celebrating by making flags and writing 4th of July poems.
Kenzie was really sad she didn't have a shirt to wear so I found her a white shirt and some fabric pens and she made her own. She also made the flag in the morning before I got up, and organized a parade with Coleman and Jordan. I love her creativity!

Then we spend the rest of the day at the Crabtree's. It was a fun day!
Alli, Sam, Kenzie.

Jordan made his own shirt too.

Kenzie

Coleman convinced Kimber to jump on the trampoline with him. It's such a rare occurrence that Kenzie had to join them.

Sam, Jordan, Cam, Konrad. Cam was trying to work up the courage to jump off the trampoline, but was worried, that even with the life jacket and tube that her eyes would go under the water. I don't think she ended up jumping in that day.

Colie-boy

Ashlee's friend, Tami, dumped some water on my dad. He spent the rest of night getting even.

Kenzie loves doing cartwheels!

Jack always spends a lot time deciding whether or not to get in. He hates cold water, but it (almost) always happy once he's in the water.

Finally doing it!

A few hours he was doing the same thing. To jump or not to jump? That is the question.

He spend a lot less time debating this time around, even though it was colder outside.

Jordan

The kids did sparklers and pop-its.

Kenzie was pretty nervous about doing it.

Elijah and Kenzie

Still not sure about it.

Jordan was loving it!

Cam didn't want to at first either. But she was brave and tried it.

Since Coleman saw Camryn doing it, he thought he would try it too.

The kids watched Konrad fly his drone around.

We watched fireworks from the backyard.

Coleman wanted his glow sticks to be a necklace like Cam's, but he said he didn't know how to do it. Camryn said she could do it. She took it from him and connected them into a circle. Then she tried to put it over his head so he could wear it around his neck. They were both surprised it wouldn't fit. :) I showed them how to actually put do it.

Doug made earrings out of his glow sticks.

Jackson spinning his glow stick around.

Sam doing sparklers again.

Kenzie happy to be doing sparklers this time.

Coleman didn't like being outside during the fireworks and just played inside by himself for awhile.

It was a fun night! We love this Independence Day tradition!
