Alaska Cruise Day 7 - Juneau

Next we went to Juneau. We took a bus up to see Mendenhall Glacier. I thought this glacier was more impressive than the other one. We also did a little nature walk on a nearby trail.

We could also see a waterfall.

The water looked so cool here!

Coleman lost one and a half teeth on the cruise! He was eating pizza and the front half of a tooth fell out! He also lost another tooth a little later.

Doug and the kids loved the free ice cream!

Kenzie, Doug, and I went to glow t-shirt making activity. They didn't have t-shirts for everyone so just Kenzie made one.

Doug added some embellishing.

It turned out so good!

And the back did too!

We played family bingo.

We saw some whales that evening!

The ice cream lady was really piling it on that night!

Kenzie and I checked out the glow party that night. There were people dancing in the front of the room and then a bunch of older people sitting around watching them. That didn't really appeal to us, so we didn't stay long and instead went back to the room.

Alaska Cruise Day 6- Skagway

The next day we went to Skagway. We took a bus tour to the Welcome to Alaska sign and saw lots of pretty sights on the way (until the clouds covered it all.) We also walked through the town and did some shopping, and went to a Klondike goldrush museum, and watched a documentary about the goldrush.

When we got back to the boat we played Stop the Bus, which is a word game like  Scattergories. We played as a family and had a lot of fun! We "stopped the bus" (meaning we finished our list first) 3 or 4 times so Doug went to the front and read our list in front to see if anyone matched our words.

Alaska Cruise Day 5 - Glacier Bay

The next day we floated up to Margerie Glacier in Glacier Bay. Although it was smaller than I expected, it was cool to see!

We also saw a bear far away on the shore as we were leaving Glacier Bay. Some park rangers came on the boat and told us the bear was there. It just looked like a brown speck to me though.

Kenzie saw it move through the binoculars.

The rest of the day was spent hanging out on the boat. The kids went to the teen and kids clubs. We watched a movie or two in our room and probably played a few games.

Alaska Cruise Day 4 - Icy Strait Point

Our next stop was Icy Strait Point. It's a place created for cruise ships to visit.
We rode a gondola to another part of the island.

We walked along the beach.

Kenzie, an orca statue, and Dennis (from Deal or No Deal:))

We saw lots of starfish.

Someone recommended we walk to the town of Hoonah so we did, but we didn't love it. The first half of the walk was great, but there wasn't much in Hoonah to see or do so we just walked back soon after we got there. Coleman didn't like the walk.

A lot of the walk was pretty though and we could see the ocean.

On our gondola ride back to the boat, we saw a deer!

I told Doug he kept closing his eyes in the pictures I'd been taking so he made sure to keep them open for this one.

We finally saw a whale! It's shooting up water here! We didn't see as many as we hoped throughout the cruise, but we didn't see them a few times and saw some breech!

That night while the teens were at the teen club and the kid was at the kid club, Doug and I went to the Not So Newlywed Game. Dennis was chosen as a participant and I thought the kids would be excited about that so I took a picture of him:)
