August Picture Dump

Kimber left to go to Boise State! It is weird and sad and exciting all at the same time:)

We went to Les Gove to play in the sprinklers and the regular park.

Jordan, Tucker, and Coleman
We went to Flying Circus with the Ramsays.

Mackenzie and Cam at Flying Circus. I forgot to take pictures while they were playing.

 And Jackson

We went to Wild Waves again. It was colder day again. We tend to either go on the hottest day (which means longer lines, especially in the water) or the coldest day of the week. Again, Coleman wanted to do his favorite slide. He was the only who wanted to this time. So he did it right before we left.

This was Coleman's first time on the frog hopper this year.

Jordan made himself a walking stick by hammering a small piece of wood into the long one.

We go to my parents' house most Sundays. Chess almost always happens. All three of my boys love playing it with Grandpa. Hearts also almost always happens, but I don't have a picture of that.

We got some popsicle sticks and Kenzie started crafting. She made a house for a toy she saw on TV that can cry and she says she wants it (although I think she forgot about it by now:))

They painted rocks for play unplugged and then came home and started painting rocks here.

The boys finished tennis lessons for the year. This is Jordan.

And Jackson

Soccer started! Kenzie was excited to play with Finley while Jackson was practicing since Jack is on Coach Eric's boys team.

Jackson is back there. In the red I think.

The boys love going to my parents' house to do yard work. Jackson loves it because my dad pays them. Jordan loves the money, but also the work. I'm pretty sure he would help my dad whether or not he got paid. On Saturday we were there and they got to use a chain saw to cut branches to a size they could carry. They also had spent the morning mowing the lawn with the riding lawn mower.

Kenzie (and Coleman) swam while they worked.

After working, Jackson and Jordan jumped in too. Jack and Kenzie had a lot of handstand contests. Their form improved as they kept going.

Scripture Hero Cub Camp

The Winters' invited us to their ward's Scripture Hero Cub Camp. Erin asked if I would do a station, and that if I did, my kids could come to it. I knew they'd love it, so I agreed. It was two full days, and a lot of fun.

My station was teaching about Jesus and doing a string art project. Konrad, Jordan, and Doug cut and sanded all the wood for me (which saved us tons of money.) The project was a really good one. The kids all had enough time to do it and it appealed to everyone.
We were excited to find out Kenzie's friend, Jenna, from our ward was going to be there too with one of her friends. Kenzie and Jenna weren't in the same group, but it was still fun to see her.

Jackson came has a helper both days. He was a walking leader with Jordan's group the first day.

Thane and Kenzie working on their string art.

Holly and Milo

I had just enough supplies left at the end of the day that Jackson could make one. He was missing a few nails, but it still worked great:)

Coleman turned his into an I love you sign and gave it to me :)

Jordan told me he chose these colors because he wanted to do orange and Kimber told him black is the only color that goes well with orange :)

On day 2 I was a walking leader with Jordan's group. They shot Goliath with marshmallows.

Jordan's group name was the Kangaroosies roosies.

Carving soap.

Coleman and Kenzie's group. Their name was Armies of Helium. They loved their group so much. They all got along really well and seamed to have so much fun together.

They made a fire. It took awhile and some patience and trial and error, but they finally got it going.

They helped make craft kits for the Seattle Children's Hospital.

They carved soap. I snuck away from Jordan's group to see Mackenzie and Coleman carving soap.

The whole group at the end of camp. Their were 39 kids. Each group, except one, at 8 kids and it was a perfect amount. After doing many years of normal cub camp where there is often 12-15 kids in a group this felt so much more manageable.

Summer Fun

We met some friends at Lea Hill park. One of our friends invited another friend who brought a pitching machine. The kids had so much fun with it. They played baseball most of the time we were there. And they all got along well with the new friends.

Jackson had a young men's activity boating at Lake Meridian. The other kids and I stayed and played with our friends.

Lake Meridian is Coleman's favorite park so he was extra excited to be there.

The young men.

We also went to Wild Waves. It was kind of cold and we were meeting Ashlee and Cam and Alli and staying for only half the day. Coleman really wanted to ride his favorite slide (the toilet bowl) so he and Jordan did that while we waited for the Crabtrees to come in.

Ashlee's Lake

We finally got to go swim at Ashlee's lake. It was a lot of fun and the kids swam most of the time we were there. I was wishing we didn't have to get back for Jackson's violin lessons.

Alli and Jack. We were all surprised Jackson stayed in most of the time.

Cam and Jordan took the kayak's out.

Kenzie got a sliver. Kimber tried to get it out. It was a big one, deep inside her skin.

Edgar Night

Jackson, Coleman, and I went to the Mariners' game with my parents when they celebrated Edgar being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Edgar

Coleman hoping to catch a ball.

He was never thrown a ball, but a sweet boy saw Coleman and told his mom they needed to get a ball. His dad worked at the stadium, and was able to get one. The boy gave it to Coleman. Coleman was so happy!

Swimming and Baseball

While Doug took the big boys to high adventure, I took the little ones to parents' house so we could have our own vacation.
I was hoping we'd be able to swim a lot, but it ended up being kind of cold and cloudy and we didn't swim too much. We had one day that was good for swimming. Even I got in the water. Coleman told Mackenzie not to get it, because I like floating around by myself. :) She stayed out for awhile, but I told her she could come in.

We went to the Mariners' game during Edgar weekend and got bobbleheads.

Me, Kenzie, and Edgar

I nice boy ended up catching two balls, so he gave one to Kenzie. She immediately drew a picture of the event.

My mom and Coleman were there too, but I guess I didn't get a picture of them.

Kids Helping Kids

Mackenzie, Coleman, and I helped sort school supplies for the Maple Valley Food Bank.

Kenzie also made a card that will be put in the backpacks.
