This is one gigantic post of the fun we had celebrating Kenzie's birthday.
Kenzie opened her presents the night before her birthday since we weren't going to have any time the next evening to do it and Doug couldn't work from home.
Presents are her most favorite part of birthdays.
She loves the present from Jack!
She was excited for the present from Grandma Dance. She especially loved what was in the card...
A picture of her and Landon from the family reunion.
Landon and Kenzie.
She loved her kitty costume.
Puppies!
Cute kitty.
It has a tail.
She got 5 more puppies! (added to the 2 she got at her family party. I just remembered I need to get the family party pictures from Doug's phone...) These puppies came in a puppy house.
Jack made leashes and collars for her puppies.
I let her eat candy in the morning on her birthday.
We went to Bounce It Up 360 in the morning while Colie was at preschool. I jumped and went down slides most of the time with Kenzie. I was a little sore the next day :)
We went to McDonald's for lunch after picking Colie up from preschool. The ice cream machine was broken. Kenzie was so sad. This McDonald's is connected to a Chevron and they had slurpies so I let her get one of those instead.
She painted her new wooden car at home.
Kenzie and I went to see "the Annie play" (as Kenzie called it) that night. It was a late night and she was tired, but we had a great time and both loved the show. When I first Annie was coming to Seattle, I wanted to take her because she loves both the Annie movies. It worked out well that it was on her birthday.
We got there early to give us plenty of time for traffic or getting lost. We had lots of time before the show started so I taught her to tie her shoe. She was so excited that she could do it.
When she got home she wanted to show Doug the video of her tying her shoe.
I always let the kids choose a fun thing to do on their birthday. Kenzie really wanted to go to Odyssey-1, but it's in Tacoma. We didn't have enough time to go on her birthday because of preschool, piano (Kenzie had her second lesson), and dance. We went on the Friday after her birthday instead.
The kids had so much. They played for almost 3 hours. They would have loved to stay longer, but we needed to get home so we could take Jack to soccer.
I had a lot of fun too. I was able to read for about 3 hours.
They played nicely together the whole time.
They played hid and seek. Colie is hiding.
Jordan is seeking.
Saturday we had soccer in the afternoon.
Jack scored a goal that day!
Then we had Kenzie's Superhero birthday party.
They decorated felt masks.
Doug was playing on his phone...
Superhero Bingo
Cleaning up kryptonite relay race.
Pin Captain America's star on his shield.
Then she opened presents.
All the superheroes.
He wanted yogurt instead of a cupcake.
Jack made a superhero obstacle course for the kids.
They were captivated by his presentation of how to do the obstacle course.
And laughed at the appropriate times, like when Jack said they had to sneak up on Baymax and jump on him.
Kenzie got the Berenstain Bears book "Too Much Birthday" for her birthday. In the book they play a game called Going to Jerusalem which is like musical chair except when the music stops you're out if you're the one standing on the rug. Kenzie really wanted to play it. We had time at the end and were able to.
Jackson did a great job playing the piano for it.
Lastly they decorated shields.
We had a great week celebrating Kenzie!
