About the kids...

I bought a book to help me teach the kids Spanish. It gives me words and phrases to use in different situations. I decided to start with dinner time since Doug would be around and can speak Spanish. We tried to use Spanish a lot and told the kids what Spanish words to say. After a little bit, Jordan started crying because he couldn't understand what we were saying. Poor boy.We told him he could ask us what words mean and that helped him feel better. Then Colie started saying he was Dora. I think he recognized that we were using words Dora uses because he's never said he was Dora before.

In church one Sunday Colie did something to Jack (maybe hit or scratched his leg or something... I don't remember) and then he started wagging his finger and saying "It wasn't me. It wasn't me." It was so funny how he was saying it. Then he went over to Doug and would scratch his pants and say "It wasn't me. It wasn't me." And then he scratched himself and said the same thing, but this time he wagged his finger at himself. It was so funny and cute.

Coleman will flick us when he's mad at us sometimes. It never hurts and usually makes me laugh.

When Coleman is mad he stomps his feet. If I do it too or say something about him stomping he tells me he's mad.

When Jackson is mad or sad I can usually send Coleman over to him to give him a hug or do something cute and it will cheer Jackson up. He has a big soft spot for Coleman. He calls Colie, Bud.

Coleman talks about Shawnee's farm occasionally. When we went to Fox Hollow farm he asked if Shawnee would be there. He must have really loved the family reunion this year!

Mackenzie wants me to lay with her every night. I usually do, as long as she stayed in bed the night before. I've never been one that enjoys rocking my kids to sleep or doing anything that prolongs bed time too long, but I do enjoy laying with her.

Mackenzie lately cries anytime I leave and won't be home to put her bed. She doesn't seem to mind as much when I leave if it's not bedtime. Maybe it's just because she wants me to lay with her. She has always preferred me putting her to bed.

When Mackenzie wants to say we shouldn't do something she says "no, no (doing whatever is wrong.) It's cute :)
