Scouts

Jackson and the other Bears had to plan and lead games at pack meeting in October. They also made signs for it. Jackson was really nervous about telling everyone the rules. But he said it went well. I didn't go because I had volleyball.

He made a best dad in the universe trophy for Doug.

Soccer Ends

Here's some pictures of Kenzie's last few games. I guess I didn't take any of Jackson's. I think I forgot the camera for his last game.  They both loved playing and were so sad it ended. Jack ended up with 3 goals for the season, and Kenzie had 7. They both improved a lot and it was fun to watch them play!
Coleman trying to be sad since he fell in the mud running back to the game from a bathroom break.  He wasn't as upset as I thought he would be.

His pants were pretty muddy on one leg, but that was all.

It started getting wetter so we had to bring chairs instead of just a blanket. I thought the blanket was waterproof, but it wasn't.

We all thought Coleman was cute in his hat :)

Kenzie's team (full of kindergartners) played a team with 1st and 2nd graders on it. You can see how much bigger they were in the picture. Most of the kids were that size and good control. I'm pretty sure they were the only team with kids that old. Kenzie was pretty discouraged the whole game. She hates losing, and although they lost other games, I think before she felt like they had a chance. But this week the ball was almost always on the side of the field they were defending.

Coleman wanted to play around the tree but there were other kids always there. He saw it was open and rushed over to play alone while he could :)

Kenzie wore a skort that day. Doug thought it made it harder for her to run, but she said it didn't.

On Kenzie's last game it poured. Everyone was soaked and the players were slipping a lot. Kenzie had an awesome game though and score 5 goals! It was the same team she has played the first week and she was nervous about playing them again because they had a little boy who scored a lot of goals. But this time her team won 6-5.

So excited after her goal.

A video of one of Kenzie's goals.

For Kenzie's last goal she kicked it across the field, around several players, and then scored. It was pretty awesome :)

Jack's last game was a week after Kenzie's last game because it was raining so hard they cancelled his game. When they played their make up game, Jackson had to be on the other team for the first few minutes because they didn't have enough players. Jack said it was weird playing against his own team :) Another kid from the other team showed up so Jackson was able to come play for his team again and he scored a goal! He had great footwork on his goal. He had to get around the opposing player and fake him out. It looked really good.

Bird Field Trip

We went on a field trip to learn about birds.

We learned about what they ate and walked through their grocery store.

Jack and Colie were in a different group than the rest of us. Jackson was such a good big brother and helped Coleman the whole day. The moms that walked around with them said he was so sweet to Coleman.

We looked through owl pellets.

There was a chart they looked at to try to figure out what they were finding.

They searched for things to build nests out of.

Kenzie loved that part.

It was a fun and educational field trip!

Mariners' Game with the Moose

Way back in September we went to the Mariners's with my parents and the Crabtrees. Since my parents have season tickets, they were able to arrange for the Moose to come to our row during the 7th inning stretch. He came over in the 6th inning and the kids loved having him there!

He offered Kenzie a snack.

Excited kids

Cam did not like the Moose. I think she had been excited for him to come, but once he actually did she kept saying she was scared. I convinced her when she's 3 she won't be scared anymore:)

Kenzie kept petting the Moose.

She liked him from a distance.

Everyone dancing.

Kimber, Jordan, Kenzie, Jackson, Coleman, Alli, Sam, and the Moose

Jordan was trying to look inside the Moose's costume through his eyes. Most of the time the Moose was there, Jordan was sitting right next to him eating his snacks. He barely paid attention to the Moose.

This big kids starting giving the Moose a massage.

Singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame

They were on the big screen. Ashlee was smart and took a video of them on the screen. I just tried to take a picture, but it didn't turn out very well.

I love this picture of Sam and Grandpa!

Kenzie Turns 6!

This is one gigantic post of the fun we had celebrating Kenzie's birthday.
Kenzie opened her presents the night before her birthday since we weren't going to have any time the next evening to do it and Doug couldn't work from home.

Presents are her most favorite part of birthdays.

She loves the present from Jack!

She was excited for the present from Grandma Dance. She especially loved what was in the card...

A picture of her and Landon from the family reunion.

Landon and Kenzie.

She loved her kitty costume.

Puppies!

Cute kitty.

It has a tail.

She got 5 more puppies! (added to the 2 she got at her family party. I just remembered I need to get the family party pictures from Doug's phone...) These puppies came in a puppy house.

Jack made leashes and collars for her puppies.

I let her eat candy in the morning on her birthday.

We went to Bounce It Up 360 in the morning while Colie was at preschool. I jumped and went down slides most of the time with Kenzie. I was a little sore the next day :)

We went to McDonald's for lunch after picking Colie up from preschool. The ice cream machine was broken. Kenzie was so sad. This McDonald's is connected to a Chevron and they had slurpies so I let her get one of those instead.

She painted her new wooden car at home.

Kenzie and I went to see "the Annie play" (as Kenzie called it) that night. It was a late night and she was tired, but we had a great time and both loved the show. When I first Annie was coming to Seattle, I wanted to take her because she loves both the Annie movies. It worked out well that it was on her birthday.

We got there early to give us plenty of time for traffic or getting lost. We had lots of time before the show started so I taught her to tie her shoe. She was so excited that she could do it.

When she got home she wanted to show Doug the video of her tying her shoe.

I always let the kids choose a fun thing to do on their birthday. Kenzie really wanted to go to Odyssey-1, but it's in Tacoma. We didn't have enough time to go on her birthday because of preschool, piano (Kenzie had her second lesson), and dance. We went on the Friday after her birthday instead.

The kids had so much. They played for almost 3 hours. They would have loved to stay longer, but we needed to get home so we could take Jack to soccer.

I had a lot of fun too.  I was able to read for about 3 hours.

They played nicely together the whole time.

They played hid and seek. Colie is hiding.

Jordan is seeking.

Saturday we had soccer in the afternoon.

Jack scored a goal that day!

Then we had Kenzie's Superhero birthday party.
They decorated felt masks.

Doug was playing on his phone...

Superhero Bingo

Cleaning up kryptonite relay race.

Pin Captain America's star on his shield.

Then she opened presents.

All the superheroes.

He wanted yogurt instead of a cupcake.

Jack made a superhero obstacle course for the kids.

They were captivated by his presentation of how to do the obstacle course.

And laughed at the appropriate times, like when Jack said they had to sneak up on Baymax and jump on him.

Kenzie got the Berenstain Bears book "Too Much Birthday" for her birthday. In the book they play a game called Going to Jerusalem which is like musical chair except when the music stops you're out if you're the one standing on the rug. Kenzie really wanted to play it. We had time at the end  and were able to.

Jackson did a great job playing the piano for it.

Lastly they decorated shields.

We had a great week celebrating Kenzie!
