Birthday Party

Jackson wanted a normal birthday party. He didn't want any theme.
We started out by making bookmarks while we waited for everyone to come. They decorated them and then I laminated them.

They drove a remote control car through a track I made. It was pretty tricky, especially for those that haven't driven remote control cars before.

We played pin the arrow on the target.

Jaromiah won.

The 2 girls stepped up to help Colie.

I love his excitement!

So proud of himself.

We carried a ball on a plastic spoon.

Cute Alli

Jackson opened his presents.

Jackson wanted oatmeal cookies for his treat. They weren't too popular among the other kids. Owen, the boy to the right of Jackson told me the next day in primary that they were the worst cookie ever. And another boy in my primary class agreed with him. But Cole, the boy to Jackson's left, ate a ton of them. And Jackson loved them. That's what matters right? :)

Then we played dodge ball. The kids loved this part. It seemed the favorite part of the birthday party. Maybe that's all we'll do next year. :)

Jack Turns 9!

Jackson turned 9 this year!
We started off the morning with opening presents.

A Big Hero poster from the Kenyons.

All his presents!

Jack spent the morning playing the Wii and then after we picked Kenzie up from preschool we went to Wendy's.

Coleman refused to look at me.

When he finally did he still wouldn't smile. He's not a big fan of Wendy's...

Then we went to the Family Fun Center and played the arcade games. Doug had a team event there for work a few weeks before and since he's the only one with a lot of little kids (or maybe any kids at all...) they gave him all the extra tokens and some cards that let us play mini golf after the arcade games.

Kenzie got a lot of tickets from one of the games. I think like 50 or 60. She was so excited!

Of course Jackson had to try it too.  I don't think he got quite as many tickets as she did, but he still got lot.

Kenzie and Colie love the roller coaster rides.

After the arcade games, Doug took the boys to ride the bumper cars and I took Kenzie and Colie to play area. Then Doug and the boys decided we should play mini golf. It was rainy, but they didn't think it was too rainy. We had fun. I didn't actually golf, I was just the score keeper. Coleman and Kenzie have never golfed the entire time when we've played before so we didn't think they'd last the whole time. Then I could take their turn. But they did play the whole time so I just kept score.

It started raining kind of hard at the end. Kenzie's hair was pretty wet.

Jackson wanted oatmeal cookies for his treat. It's pretty tricky to put candles in oatmeal cookies.

Mother's Day

The kids made me presents for Mother's Day.
Kenzie drew this picture of me and answered some questions about me at preschool. These are the questions and answers:
My Mom's name is: Stephanie
How old is your mom: 30
Favorite color: red
Favorite TV show: Mary Poppins
Favorite Food: Waffles
Favorite thing to do: give me a hug
Favorite drink: water
favorite candy: muddy buddies
Favorite animal: doggy
Favorite song: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

She also made me this and a kitchen towel that I forgot to take a picture of. I have one from the older boys too. Ashlee will have to help Coleman make one for me next year even though she's not teaching preschool :)

Coleman made me this. I'm not sure what it is...

Jackson made me flowers out of paper and put some rocks and water into a yogurt container that he decorated. He also made that guy that is clipped onto the yogurt container vase.

Jackson kept not wanting to smile so then I frowned like him and he actually kind of smiled.

Jordan made me a paper flower too.

I love being a mother! I'm so happy I get to stay home with my kids each day.
