Christmas Party # 3

We had an early Christmas gathering at my parents house this year since both of my sisters will out of town for Christmas. We opened all the presents from each other and had a yummy dinner. It was a lot of fun! Jordan in his cute Santa shirt that Jackson wore just last year (and probably could have fit into this year too... )
Kimber and Jack opening presents. This kids were very excited to open presents.

After I took a picture of Kimber and Jack, Alli said "you forgot me." Then she smiled and I took her picture. (Kenna's in the background opening up her present.)
Jordan with his new balls and Doug in his new jacket.

(sorry there are no pictures of Christmas party #2. We just had a Christmas dinner with friends at their house...)

Snow

It's been snowing here since Friday night. Well really it snowed some Friday and Saturday then maybe a little bit since then until last night. It snowed an inch or two last night. When Doug's alarm went off this morning the radio was saying a bunch of school districts' names then saying that school is canceled for those districts. Doug still got up but I talked him into skipping basketball since it seemed a little too dangerous for him to be driving so early in the morning since school was canceled all over (although they didn't say the school districts around us...) and I also talked him into staying home to work since I had to take Jordan to the doctor today and was a little nervous to be driving in what sounded like such scary conditions. I thought there would be at least 3 or 4 inches but there was maybe one. and by the time I had to take Jordan to the doctor the snow and ice that had been there all week had mostly melted. So I drove the kids and I to the doctor. I guess Doug didn't need to stay home today.... But I'm glad he did! I love when he works from home!
Santa flew by to see all the snow!

Christmas Party #1

We went to our ward Christmas party last weekend. We has a good dinner, watched a program, sang a couple Christmas songs and then Santa came. Jack was pretty excited to see Santa. But when we went to sit on Santa's lap, he wasn't as excited. He clung to me and didn't want to sit on his lap at all. Jordan did great though. He happily sat with him, and smiled for the camera so we could get a cute picture. At least we have one cute Santa picture.Jackson in front of a blow up thing with reindeer and snowmen and penguins inside.

Excited Jordan

When Jordan gets excited he makes this sound. I think it sounds a little like wheezing but he's been doing it for a few days now so I think it's just his excited sound and not actual wheezing. He's done when he's upset too, although not as much. So maybe it's just his high emotion sound. He's getting so big... Almost 9 months now.

Weekend Get-away

This weekend Doug and I had a little get-away without our kids. We got a free 3 day 2 night hotel stay for listening to a time share about 7 months ago. After filling out lots of paper work and doing a lot of waiting we finally got to use our "free" vacation (we actually had to pay some money for fees and other stuff, but only $30 which is pretty good for a weekend in a hotel.) We decided we didn't want to go too far because it wasn't worth paying to fly somewhere for a weekend. And to be honest I'd rather not fly unless something is really worth it. So we told the people we'd like to stay in Seattle. But we didn't end up getting to stay in Seattle. Instead we got to stay in Kent, which is the city right next to ours. Doug took Friday off and we dropped the kids off at my sister's house for naptime and left for the hotel (well after going back to our house since we forgot Jordan's bottles... ) The we drove the 15 or 20 minutes to our hotel. On the way there we realized that we right by the hotel we stayed in for a night of our honeymoon. We remembered how cheap we were to stay there. I wanted to take a picture to show how cheap that place is. We thought it was pretty funny we ended up staying on the same street so randomly... Friday night we saw a movie, ate dinner, and saw a Christmas thing on the sidewalk and saw some snow fall as part of the Christmas thing. There were drummers and soldiers and Rudolph and a bear. Christmas music was being played. It was pretty fun. The next day we went into Seattle and walked around and ice skated. We didn't skate too long because the rink was really small and there were a ton of people skating. It was a fun weekend! Thanks Ash for watching the kids even though your husband was gone and you had a primary activity to be in charge of... and thanks mom for helping Ashlee when she had to do the primary activity. I love living by family! (and not just for the free baby sitting...) Here's the evidence of the weekend... you'll notice that it was really only Doug and me and we didn't have anyone to take our picture so you can't really see what's going on in the background too much...

My sister did Jack's hair for Sunday. She did a spiky mohawk thing with it. I thought it looked good. She said she tried to do Jordan's hair but he didn't quite have enough to do anything with.

Happy Thanksgiving again

This movie is a little late. I was thinking of putting it up on Thanksgiving but I didn't. My sister told me my niece wants to watch a movie of Jackson and this is the most recent I have that isn't really long. And it is very cute too.

No 'A'

So I was just downstairs updating this very blog of mine on my computer down there and my sweet 2 year old was trying to screw on a lid to a water bottle right next to me. I thought it was a good activity to help his fine motor skills. Then the lid dropped. He bent down to pick it up but at the same time let go of the water bottle. It spilled on my laptop. So I jumped up and grabbed paper towels and wiped off the water and tried to get out the water that had fallen through the key board. Everything seemed to be fine. The computer was working. I started working on my update again without any problems. But then I tried to type the phrase 'a few' and it turned out looking like this:' few.' My 'a' key doesn't work anymore. I just tried to deal with problem and still finish my blog on my laptop. But I quickly realized that typing sentences is really hard without using the letter a. So I had to come upstairs and finish. I just hope my 'a' starts working again. Mostly I hope the rest of my computer doesn't break.
