We had another great week in Hawaii!
On Monday morning, Doug, Jackson, Jordan, Ashlee, Konrad, Alli (I think), Michelle, Richard, and my dad went to Goat Island. They walked from our beach all the way there since it was low tide. They kept checking for the day when the tide would be low when we were awake so they could go. It was usually in the middle of the night. They walked around and looked for shells and sea glass. Doug and our boys came back early because Doug had to start working.
We hung out at our beach after that.
Colie, Cam, Jordan, and I made a sandcastle most of the time we were out there. It was a lot of work!
Cam carved the square on top of the mound.
Then Coleman shaped the bottom part. I made a wall to protect the castle as the tide came in. I had to constantly add more to the wall because the waves kept knocking it down.
After that we went to Matsumoto's.
Hunter had recommended Aoki's (although I don't know if he actually said he thought it was better than Matsumotos, just that it was the OG shave ice place:)) Doug wanted to try it out so he walked over and got one.
He also got one from Matsumotos so he could compare them. He thought overall Matsumotos was better I think because the flavor lasted longer.
Jordan's the finisher. Everyone gives him theirs once they finish eating.
Next we went to Pipeline.
Jordan buried himself and I made him into a little man.
Kenzie's hair got a bit wild.
On Tuesday, my parents, sisters, Richard, and I went to the temple. Then some of us went to the beach by our Hauula House to look for shells and sea glass. Then just hung out at our beach.
The OG Ridings :)
Ash and Alli found a good spot to look :)
Alli showed me what sea slugs are and found this giant one.
Jordan making more holes.
Coleman boogieboarding.
Kenzie heading out to surf.
Cam and Konrad flew a kite.
Doug and I laying in the sun.
On Wednesday we had a super busy day! We started off with going to the Swap Meet again (we went on July 18, 2018, July 21, 2021, and so we had to keep the tradition going by going on July 24, 2024!). The Wilsons came to Hawaii for the week so they met us there. After that, Cam, Coleman, Kimber, Grandma, and I went to the zoo (I was excited someone else (Cam) really wanted to go to the zoo so I told her I'd take her :)) everyone else went to Judd Trail. After that we met up again at Waikiki. We finished the night with dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.
Kenzie and her shave ice at the Swap Meet.
Jordan got one too!
Most of the swap meet group. I think just Christina and Blake (and Ashlee since she was taking the picture) aren't in it.
The hike:
They had to cross a river. Doug said the river was low so they could just walk on rocks across it. The rest of the hike was muddy and had a lot of roots to walk over and had a steep set of stairs I think. But it sounds like it wasn't too bad:) And everyone had fun!
A lot of the kids jumped off the little cliff and swam in the pool. Jackson and Jordan had invited Logan on the hike so he was there too. The three of them floated down the river instead of playing in the pool.

The Zoo:
Cam loves sloths and so we were excited they were one of the first animals we saw when we got to the zoo. And it was climbing around the cage! Then we walked to the other sloth and it also was moving around. It was pretty cool!
Coleman and Blake. Blake and his dad joined us. It was Blakes 12th birthday!
Coleman and a baboon.
Blake and the baboon.
The other baboons in the exhibit were standing like this with their face pressed against the rocks. We wondered if it was cooler there for them.
Cam and Kimber with the lions. We all had a lot of fun at the zoo and were very hot and tired by the time we were done. I was a little disappointed that the chimpanzees weren't doing anything entertaining and we didn't see any cheetahs. But the monkeys were active, which was fun. On our way out we passed by the sloths again and they were moving around again.
Waikiki: I didn't get any pictures at the beach. I was so hot after the zoo, that I just wanted to get in the water and I was in it until we left. All the Wilsons joined us there. They were staying in a hotel close by. Kenzie and Nati texted the chess boy, Max, because they saw him when they drove by. He disappeared for awhile but came down and played chess with Kenzie a few times.
Waiting outside The Cheesecake Factory.
Kenzie's hair after she took out the hair tie holding her braid in.
The Wilson and Dance kids. Nati opted to sit with the adults.
On Thursday we hung out at the house for most of the day. Then went to Haleiwa for shave ice, shopping, dinner, and the sunset.
Jackson usually got candy for his treat.
Doug some baby chicks with their mom. There's wild chickens everywhere!
Kenzie and I got some sleeping masks.
The cleaning lady had told us the turtles come on land at sunset at Haleiwa beach, but they didn't. We did see some swimming, but it was hard to see them without the sun shining brightly.
Konrad made a timelapse video of the sunset so these girls decided to slowly walk across like this.
This is what it looked like in the timelapse.
We got Coleman some new goggles since his got lost in the ocean.
On Friday the Wilsons met us and the Kenyons at the temple so the kids could do baptisms. Then the big boys went to play tennis with Doug and Konrad. The Wilsons came over in the afternoon to swim. We went to Chile Relleno for a date night dinner (which was a change of plans after a fly was found dead floating in our crockpot dinner.) The kids had McDonalds, thanks to Grandpa.
Jordan, Jackson, Logan
Kenzie, Jenna
Blake, Coleman
The kids had a lot of fun playing their friends! They swam and played in the sand.
Jackson found a tiny crab.

On Saturday we were home most of the day. Some played pickleball in the morning, we got treats at PCC in the afternoon. Hunter (and his brother in law, Owen) came over to surf. He gave some good tips to Jackson and Jordan. The Wilsons came over for about an hour before they headed to Honolulu for their redeye flight.
Jordan practiced surfing.
Richard reading in the waves.
Jordan surfing!
And then resting in his hole.
Ice cream from PCC. Doug and I also got malasadas.
Hunter catching a wave!

On Sunday we went to church in the morning, played games in the afternoon, and a few of us went to the Point to walk around and enjoy the view.
There was salt left on the rocks from the ocean water evaporating.
That night we went to Sunset with some the Crabtree's friends that were in town. They also were at church that morning. As we were leaving church, Jordan told me one of the girls was in his FSY group! I told Ashlee and she texted the girl about it and the girl said she thought he was too, but it seemed too unlikely that he would be in Hawaii at church with her.
