After the boys' last basketball game we drove to Redding, CA and slept their for the night. The next day we drove to Sandy Valley to visit Grandma Dance. On Monday, the kids and I went to the Springs Preserve in Las Vegas while Doug and his mom saw his dad. We had a lot fun. It was a science center and botanical garden all in one.
Jordan in polar bear den.
Coleman in a polar bear den.
Polar bears are huge!
Black bears are only a little bigger than Jackson.
Running away from a polar bear!
Kenzie the polar bear.
Kenzie liked this little girl statue.
She's pretending to be the little girl.
Jordan, Coleman, and Kenzie riding a fake train.
Digging for fossils.
Next we went to the botanical garden part. It was cool to see some desert plants.
Jackson, Mackenzie, Coleman, Jordan. It was a little bright for them :)
Jordan was disappointed when they looked into these giant binoculars and couldn't actually see anything (except a picture that is at the end.)
We learned about recycling and garbage and watched a short video about them.
We rode a train around the preserve. We were hoping to see some wild life, but we didn't really see much. The animals must have been sleeping.
We made mountains out of sand. There were lights shining on the sand that showed the different levels of altitude.
The big play area was under construction, but luckily we found this place for the kids to play at while we wait for Doug and Grandma to come pick us up.
The were building a town.
It was a fun day and we hope to go back someday!
That night we went to dinner with Randy and Donna at Olive Garden. We loved seeing them!
