Denny Creek

We hiked Denny Creek last Friday. Doug was still on vacation so he got to come with us! We went with the Winters and Fernadezes. It was a mostly great day.
Kenzie, Bryce, and Jordan
It's such a beautiful hike!

Graham, Thane, and Coleman

Graham and Thane have a hard time holding still for a  picture :)

All the kids! Coleman, Jackson, Jordan, Nellie, Graham, Bryce, Thane, Kenzie, Andrew, Kara

The only girls. There pretty spaced out in ages 13, 11, 5. I'm always surprised Kara and Kenzie are really only two years apart. It seems like a bigger gap :)

Doug and I walked over to the waterfall with some of the kids.

They climbed up the rocks.

Doug took them up further. I was glad when they all came back safely, in one piece. We were a bit nervous after out last hiking adventure.

Bryce and Jordan

Doug organized a stick race.

Everyone watching their sticks.

Kenzie riding on her knees. It wasn't very comfortable though. She really didn't want to take off her pants, but also didn't want them to get all wet.

Coleman loved sliding down! It was really cold but fun.

Kenzie finally going down.

When she got down to the bottom she was trying to stand up quickly and get out of the way of a picture and slipped on the wet rock. She hit her head on the rock. It didn't look too hard, so I thought she'd come to me because it hurt. However, I didn't expect her to have blood flowing down her face when she looked at me. I quickly went to her and helped her back to our stuff. My friends had some toilet paper and a facemask that worked as a headband. We cleaned her up and put the mask over her cut. And Erin let her borrow her sweatshirt to keep her warm.

We asked her how she felt and she said her cut didn't hurt, but she was having a hard time seeing. We got her some water and sugar and I told her it was just because she panicking, not because the cut was so bad. After that she felt fine and didn't have much pain and no dizziness or anything. We waited a little bit to make sure she okay and then headed back down. Doug gave her a piggyback ride on the way to the car. Luckily it's a quick hike back and only took about 30 minutes. Maybe even less. After that, we went home. Coleman went home with the Winters so I could take Kenzie to Urgent Care since Doug and the big boys were already planning on golfing with my dad when we got home.
