Burglar

While we were at the Stars game, someone broke unto our house. He came in through the basement window that had been unlocked. He broke our ottoman after he came through the window. Doug and the boys had left as the 4th quarter of the Stars game to go play tennis. When Kenzie and I got home, we noticed that there were somethings on the mudroom floor that shouldn't have been. Kenzie thought she saw them there before we left, but I didn't think so. Nor did I think that they would have fallen in an upright position if they had been bumped while we hurried out of the house. But that seemed more logical than someone breaking into our house. I went upstairs and noticed a $20 bill on the ground in the hallway and thought that was odd, then I saw my bedroom door was open (we don't leave it open when we're not upstairs so the bunny doesn't go in). But I still didn't think anyone had come into our house. But then when I walked into by bedroom I saw this: (except the water bottle)

And then I looked towards the bathroom and saw this:
Since my thought that maybe the house tilted somehow to make the all the drawers come out didn't seem quite plausible, I quickly went back downstairs and told Kenzie to get in the car. We drove to QFC and called Doug and told him what happened. He checked the cameras and saw that someone looked in the front window a little before 7 (it was now 8:30). He and the boys came home and we met them there. (I figured the guy was really gone, but Kenzie and I left any way, just in case.) We found that he had gone through our closet and even tipped mine and Doug's dresser over. He didn't seem to go in Jackson's room at all and probably not Jordan's. He opened a couple drawers in Coleman's room. But he made big mess in Kenzie's room. He stole her wallet (which just had her debit cards and $20), $20 off her desk, some off brand air pods, and all her jewelry (other than a couple pieces, but luckily none of it was expensive. Most were probably under $5). He made a big mess in her closet. He also stole a thing I kept store cards and a couple gift cards (that I'd had for awhile that didn't have much money on them) and credit cards I don't usually use and maybe $20. He might have found 1 or 2 more twenties in the mudroom or my bedroom. He stole a bag of coins from other countries I had in my night stand. We thought he stole my wedding ring because it wasn't where I had left it (I didn't bring it Great Wolf Lodge and just hadn't put it back on yet). We were all really sad about it being gone, but then Doug found it on the floor next to the bed! We were all so excited! I don't know if it just fell out of his bag or pocket or if he realized it's missing one of its diamonds so he just threw it down, but I was so happy to have it back! It felt like a miracle to me!

Kenzie came in our room and said something like "the thief could have stepped right here!" :) Then she held up the money to pretend like she was the thief.

My ring!

Coleman's room (I took this Sunday. Coleman hadn't even shut all his drawers yet. Haha!)

That night Doug got our alarm system up and running again (we hadn't been using it for a couple years) and ordered some more cameras and motion sensor lights that he installed Sunday. It was scary, but I'm glad he didn't get much of value. Mostly just cash and cheap jewelry (sometimes it's make me laugh to think how disappointed he must have been to spend all that effort breaking in for basically nothing:)) And I'm glad we're all safe!

Stars' Soccer Game

We went to the Stars' soccer game on Saturday! We had a great time!

We got some balls to try to throw into a car that drives along the field between the 3rd and 4th quarters.

Great Wolf Lodge

We went Great Wolf Lodge last week, Thursday - Friday! It was so much fun!
We arrive Thursday early afternoon and after dropping our stuff off in our room we went to the waterpark. Kenzie's little head popping up between Doug and Coleman makes me laugh :)

Now we can see her better :)

They did rock paper scissors to see who would sleep in the bed and who would sleep on the couch bed.

Coleman did the quest.

And he completed it Friday morning! He was happy he could finally see what was in this chest. (but we took the picture later after he restarted the quest so he couldn't open it again). Colie and I tried to go questing at 8:30 when the rest of the family was still sleeping but were disappointed to find that it was closed until 9. And we also found out the water park didn't open until 10. I thought they'd be open by 8.

I convinced them to stand under the giant bucket after it drops so I could take a picture.

Afterwards Kenzie said I should have taken a video, but they didn't want to stand under it again so I could take one:)

We spent a lot of time in the activity pool because the slide lines were long a lot of the time, especially on Friday.

Doug making the kids laugh.

We've never seen lines so long!

We compared the sizes of a kid's meal milk shake and a regular milk shake. We were wondering if 2 kid's meal shakes would be bigger than a regular one, and they would be!

We got some treats before we headed out. Jordan got ice cream, Kenzie got dip n dots.

And Coleman a milk shake.

These two had so many slurpees! They were constantly refilling their bottles. They convinced Doug to buy the second one that Jordan is holding so they could each have one.

We had such a fun trip!

We told the kids about the trip by putting it on our weekly calendar. They were super excited! And we kept laughing about how Doug wrote "there's nothing to be scared of here" which is a song they used to sing at Great Wolf Lodge. I don't think they do anymore, but we didn't watch the shows this time.

Most Improved

Coleman got the Most Improved award for his school soccer last fall. We forgot to stop by a pick up the award, but his coach was at the school one day when Coleman had his basketball there. The coach got the award for him.

Kenzie's 2025 Bingo Card

Kenzie still hasn't quite finished her goal bingo card, but this is what it looks like right now.

Swim Banquet

Jordan had his swim banquet last Wednesday.
He got the spice champion award for eating the most spicy wings at Buffalo Wild Wings when they went as a team. He also got the spicy wing trophy for winning the contest (he tied with another kid)!

Kenzie and Jenna

Kenzie and Jenna painted each other during our young women painting activity.
They turned out cute!
