Kenzie Turns 6!

This is one gigantic post of the fun we had celebrating Kenzie's birthday.
Kenzie opened her presents the night before her birthday since we weren't going to have any time the next evening to do it and Doug couldn't work from home.

Presents are her most favorite part of birthdays.

She loves the present from Jack!

She was excited for the present from Grandma Dance. She especially loved what was in the card...

A picture of her and Landon from the family reunion.

Landon and Kenzie.

She loved her kitty costume.

Puppies!

Cute kitty.

It has a tail.

She got 5 more puppies! (added to the 2 she got at her family party. I just remembered I need to get the family party pictures from Doug's phone...) These puppies came in a puppy house.

Jack made leashes and collars for her puppies.

I let her eat candy in the morning on her birthday.

We went to Bounce It Up 360 in the morning while Colie was at preschool. I jumped and went down slides most of the time with Kenzie. I was a little sore the next day :)

We went to McDonald's for lunch after picking Colie up from preschool. The ice cream machine was broken. Kenzie was so sad. This McDonald's is connected to a Chevron and they had slurpies so I let her get one of those instead.

She painted her new wooden car at home.

Kenzie and I went to see "the Annie play" (as Kenzie called it) that night. It was a late night and she was tired, but we had a great time and both loved the show. When I first Annie was coming to Seattle, I wanted to take her because she loves both the Annie movies. It worked out well that it was on her birthday.

We got there early to give us plenty of time for traffic or getting lost. We had lots of time before the show started so I taught her to tie her shoe. She was so excited that she could do it.

When she got home she wanted to show Doug the video of her tying her shoe.

I always let the kids choose a fun thing to do on their birthday. Kenzie really wanted to go to Odyssey-1, but it's in Tacoma. We didn't have enough time to go on her birthday because of preschool, piano (Kenzie had her second lesson), and dance. We went on the Friday after her birthday instead.

The kids had so much. They played for almost 3 hours. They would have loved to stay longer, but we needed to get home so we could take Jack to soccer.

I had a lot of fun too.  I was able to read for about 3 hours.

They played nicely together the whole time.

They played hid and seek. Colie is hiding.

Jordan is seeking.

Saturday we had soccer in the afternoon.

Jack scored a goal that day!

Then we had Kenzie's Superhero birthday party.
They decorated felt masks.

Doug was playing on his phone...

Superhero Bingo

Cleaning up kryptonite relay race.

Pin Captain America's star on his shield.

Then she opened presents.

All the superheroes.

He wanted yogurt instead of a cupcake.

Jack made a superhero obstacle course for the kids.

They were captivated by his presentation of how to do the obstacle course.

And laughed at the appropriate times, like when Jack said they had to sneak up on Baymax and jump on him.

Kenzie got the Berenstain Bears book "Too Much Birthday" for her birthday. In the book they play a game called Going to Jerusalem which is like musical chair except when the music stops you're out if you're the one standing on the rug. Kenzie really wanted to play it. We had time at the end  and were able to.

Jackson did a great job playing the piano for it.

Lastly they decorated shields.

We had a great week celebrating Kenzie!

Here's some things about Kenzie:
She loves puppies, kitties, and pretty much all kinds of babies.
She loves to be a puppy and puppy ears (pigtails.)
She's fast.
She loves soccer!
She loves dance. She's doing a ballet/tap class this year. She really loves tap.
She loves to read and to have books read to her.
Her favorite books are Berenstain Bears and Little Critter.
She loves TV and movies.
She love Sofia the First.
She likes watching musicals like Annie and Mary Poppins because they are long and I often like to watch them too so she thinks I'll be more likely to say yes to her watching them.
She has a unique sense of style.
She likes coloring.
She's getting better at memorizing.
She often tells me she'll miss me if I don't take her places with me.
She's energetic.
She's usually pretty helpful for me. Unless she thinks the job will take too long or is too hard.
She loves compliments.
She's very loving.
She's super cute and always makes me smile.
We love her!

The Fair

The kids and I went to the Puyallup Fair again this year. We went on a Monday, but it was more crowded than I thought it would be. We still had fun though :)
Jack brought some quarters to try out the foot massagers.

This kids loved it and giggled the whole time they were on it.

Surprisingly, these 2 were quiet on it,

while these two were much louder.

Some workers came over and started all of them again for the kids so they got 2 turns on them.

We spent a half hour or so at the pioneer farm. Kenzie is taking the bark of the piece of wood.

Jack and Colie drilling.

Jordan grinding wheat. He loved this place and kept wanting to come back. It was one of his favorite things at the fair.

The kids each got to choose 2 rides.

And we all rode the Tilt-a-Whirl. I make them ride this one with me. I love it! :)

Colie was excited to see his favorite ride from Legoland at the fair. He rode it with Kenzie. They are in the green plane. The boys went in a haunted house and they did bumper cars. Kenzie rode the bumpers car with Jack for her second ride.

We went to the petting zoo twice. The first time Colie would only pet the little animals, but the second time he pet some of the bigger ones.

We've never seen this guy before. My kids kept calling him Big Foot. The first time we walked by him Kenzie called out "Bye Big Foot." I thought it was funny.

Of course they had to milk the cow.

They tried on the the firemen jackets.

Service Project, Show and Tell, Bearded Man

We're part of a homeschool service group. Some of the group collected food at a grocery store (we didn't because we were busy with soccer that day.) Then we all met up at the Maple Valley food bank to turn the food in and took a tour of the facility. The group collected 890 lbs of food and over $500 cash!

Cutest little clown! He brought that elephant to his first preschool show and tell.  He wanted to bring a hard animal because used to bring hard animals sometimes. I tried to convince him to bring something he actually plays with, but he wouldn't change his mind.

Doug went to visit his mom for a week. She had been in the hospital and we went to help her when she got home. He forgot his razor while he was away and game back with a beard. He shaved it quickly when he got home though because his wife isn't a fan of beards. :)

More Soccer

I took my friend's 3 year old son to his soccer game. He was very serious about his goal tending duties:)

Kenzie was so excited for her first game. She was goalie for the first half.

She stopped about half the balls that came her way and would look over at us each time she did.

She decided she doesn't really like goalie. She'd rather be trying to score goals.

I left Kenzie's game at half time to take Jack to his. He played forward.

Kicking the ball.

This was the second week of games:
Whenever Kenzie's coach tells them to get in a line, she runs as fast as she can to be first in line. She usually gets to be there.

She scored her first goal. I got in on video. Then I discovered a cool feature on my phone that allows me to take a still shot of a video. These pictures are from those still shots:

She was so excited!

Later that afternoon we had Jack's game.

He didn't score a goal that week, but did have a great pass. And he did score one the next week. I missed it because I was at Kenzie' game.

Mariners' Game

We went to the Mariners' game with my mom one sunny afternoon in September.
The kids were worried that since Grandpa wasn't there they might not get treats. Luckily Grandma bought them some. She also brought lots in her bag :)
