Independence Day

We went to my sister's mother and father in law's house for lunch and an afternoon of outside fun on the Forth of July. My kids love going to their house and seeing Grandma and Grandpa Crabtree. The Crabtrees have a trampoline, 2 kiddie pools, and fun swing set, plus a bunch of fun outside toys. We all had a great time!

This pool was the perfect size for Kenzie. It took her cousins a long time to convince her to come in though. But she seemed to love it once she finally did get in.

Konrad and Doug.
We played several games of Ladder Golf (I think that's what it's called.) I think Doug was the champion. I'm pretty sure he one every game he played. He is very talented :)

Jackson jumping into the other kiddie pool.

Sam jumping in.

Alli jumping in.

All the kids in the little kiddie pool. They were all supposed to be looking up, but that didn't work out very well. Maybe my sister got a better picture. But I think this is a very cute picture of Kenzie.

Sam, Alli, Jack, Jordan, Kimber, Kenzie.

And Coleman

That night we didn't do anything else festive. The kids went to bed early because they were all tired (especially Kenzie who didn't get a nap). I don't think they would have enjoyed fireworks that much anyways.

Making Cookies

The kids an I made cookies on Sunday. They loved eating the cookie dough (and so did I). Mackenzie kept trying to sneak some out of the bow and off the cookie sheet l and would get mad when I'd tell her to stop.

Brothers

Jackson and Jordan are really good friends. They usually say they're best buddies. They do fight some, but also play really well together most of the time. I love watching them play nicely together.

Jordan is officially taller than Jack.

Playing Chutes and Ladders.

Doing their workbooks.

Holding Coleman

Kenzie and Jordan finally held Coleman. Kenzie actually agreed to do it. Jordan only did it because I put Coleman on his lap.

1st Sunday

I took Coleman to church for the first time on Sunday. He wanted to be held throughout much of church. And that was ok because I like holding him.

Jack and Jordan held Kenzie's hands when we walked into the building. Aren't they so cute? I think our first week with 4 kids went well. We're lucky we sit with Grandma and grandpa Crabtree (my brother in laws parents) because Jackson and Jordan usually end up sitting next to them and leave Doug and me alone for most of sacrament. I was worried about getting us all there on time since Doug has early meetings, but the morning went smoothly and we did get there on time.

21 Months Old

Mackenzie is 21 months old now. I can't believe she'll be 2 in just 3 months.

She's finally learning to drink from a real cup. She does okay with it as long as we don't give her too much and she doesn't get bored during the meal. She starts dumping it when she gets bored. Sometimes she just wants more water instead of eating her food.

She loves her blankie. Whenever she gets sad she wants it. She also loves her binky and is often trying to sneak it during the day.

She doesn't like sitting in chairs and so is usually standing in them at the table. She also tries to stand in her high chair when she's eating. I now wish that I wouldn't have cut the buckles off of it. My boys never needed them and I thought they were pointless and they always got dirty so I got rid of them. She also likes to color. She usually colors on her hands though on purpose.

She likes to climb on the counter too. She can pull out the bar stools now and climb on them to get on the counter. She's trouble :)

She also likes to read books. Her favorites are There's a Nightmare in my Closet and Jesse Bear. She know some of the parts in the nightmare book and it's really cute when she says them when we're reading it.
She's stubborn. She cried and screamed going into the doctor's office yesterday because I made her hold my hand in the parking lot. Not until we were inside did she stop.
She likes to play with my phone and often makes secret phone calls to my sister, who I'm glad is the first person in my contact list.
She loves riding her bike outside and gets mad if anyone else tries to use it.
She loves watching Dora and gets really excited if we ask her if she wants to watch it.
She says stop to Doug and I if when we sing songs to her a lot of the time. She usually only doesn't when we get her permission to sing.
She loves nursery.
She loves wearing her jammies and usually wants to wear them all day everyday. But she only loves some of them. On Sunday we were at Ashlee's house and we brought their pajamas to put on them before we came home. I brought some for her that she never wants to wear at home, thinking that she would be fine wearing them if they were the only option. But I was very wrong. She said no and cried and screamed at Doug while he put them on her and then at me when I went to try to talk to her about the situation and wouldn't listen to me when I was talking to her. I finally got her to listen to me and told her she could take off the nightgown and could choose new jammies at home. She wasn't very happy that she didn't have any other ones at Ashlee's house.
She loves washing her hands.
She likes climbing on the table.
She loves Reese's Puffs and Lucky Charms and peanut butter toast and peanut butter crackers and strawberries.
She likes dipping her food in ketchup or caramel.
She likes getting her way and is good at getting it.
She doesn't whisper very well.
She says "See mommy!" sometimes when Doug gets her up from naps.
She's been telling us when she's stinky the last couple of days. My boys never did that. Maybe it's a sign she'll be easier to potty train :)
She doesn't like when Coleman cries.
She makes us all happy.

2 weeks

Coleman turned 2 weeks old last Friday.
My sister Michelle made this elephant for Coleman. I'm going to try to take a picture of him by it every once in awhile to see how he grows.

Here's what Coleman is like these days:
He sleeps a lot. He's rarely awake for more than an hour.
He likes to poo all over everything. More than any of my other kids from what I remember.
He usually goes about 5 or more hours between his night feedings. But not always.
He doesn't really like to be in his carseat when he's awake.
He doesn't love being swaddled, but is getting more used to it.
He doesn't cry a lot. He usually squeals instead.
He's starting to like his binky.

Here's a few more pictures of him from the last week or so.
