Craters of the Moon

We went to Craters of the Moon in Idaho.
On the way there we saw some signs saying we were entering a national forest. When we looked out the window this was our view. Just a bunch of desert bushes :)

There were tons of black lava rock all over.

We went on a walk along a paved path.

We took a break on all the benches we saw.

We were amazed to see the snow on that mountain.

We hiked up a volcano. Some of the kids didn't want to hike up it because they were worried that there would be a hole at the top and we would fall in it. They were happy to find no hole :)

The little rocks were crunchy and broke when stepped on them. It was really weird.

The view on our way back down.

Jordan and Kenzie

It was a fun place to stop. Next time we'll wear close toed shoes and go in the caves there.

"Some of the kids...were afraid they would fall in..." Assuming "some of the kids" included Stephanie (aka Grandma Riding)?
