It was my golden birthday last week. Doug and the kids worked hard to make it extra special since you only have one golden birthday in your life :)
Jackson made me breakfast in bed. I was nervous he was going to drop them on the way up, but he did great.
Kenzie wanted to something special for me too.
She spread her blankie on me.
Kenzie took this picture. Then Jordan said that I'll always remember my kindle and the scriptures because of the picture :)
The kids were super excited for me to come downstairs. Doug had said goodbye to me and acted like he was going to work. Jordan kept giving me clues that he didn't really go to work. He said "do you know where daddy is?" and when I said work, he said "maybe..." And Jackson kept getting mad at Jordan for giving me clues.
When I came downstairs I followed arrows to this:
Doug had wrapped my presents in gold paper and made my a golden throne and a golden path. He came out from the mudroom and told me he was taking the day off!
Doug spent a couple hours the night before getting it all ready. He let each of the kids come down and wrap the 3 presents that they had chosen for me. I had no clue he had them do this.
My kiddos and me.
Coleman ate breakfast while I opened presents.
Kenzie got me a fly swatter.
I love how she straightens her legs when she gets excited.
Michelle gave me Our Best Bites cookbook (and a cute apron.)
Jordan telling me he gave me the peanut butter cups.
Jack gave me the green bin that's on the couch. He said he's seen me look at it every time we go to Target. And then he asked me why I wanted it. :)
I got a serger!
birthday kisses
Jack and Kenzie brought out my last present (a chocolate bunny) on a pillow.
The kids checked out the garden.
The we went shopping at Down East and Plato's Closet. We ate lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and then went to the Family Fun Center.
Kenzie, Jackson, Jordan, and I did the bumper boats. Colie was too small to do it.
Kenzie and me, Jackson, Jordan
Then we play mini golf.
Coleman loved it.
Coleman loved the holes with houses. There were 2 of them. He didn't want to do any of the other holes. He kept crying and saying he wanted to go back to the house. Doug stayed with him and Kenzie at one for awhile.
So happy he hit it in. He would put the ball right on the metal bridge and then would try to swing quickly before the ball would roll back down. It was pretty cute :)
Doug doing some fancy putting.
Doug and the big boys did bumper cars.
Kenzie did a roller coaster ride. Coleman tried it out, but it scared him and he wanted to get off right away.
It was a beautiful, warm, and sunny day so the kids wanted to get out the pool and the slip and slide.
We planted out garden a couple weeks ago. We're growing cucumbers, green onions, watermelon, and peas. We will soon plant some raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries I think.
The kids also rode their bikes.
Doug made me cake and I blew out my 29 candles.
I couldn't do it in one breath though.
Jackson and Jordan had baseball practice that night. Doug took Mackenzie and Coleman to Jordan's, and I took Jackson to his. It was a really great day!
