Kenzie and I went to Girls' camp June 19th-22. I was her cabin mom which we were both happy about. Most of the young women in our ward were in either her group or the long house next to hers so she was happy about that. We had so much fun!
The theme was Care Bears.

Free time at the lake.
Our group won the Meet the Brethren activity.
These girls didn't put their name cards back after swimming in the lake (to let the lifeguard know they had returned) so they had to do a dance in front of the everyone else.
The girls always love Hoopla!
Friday morning we had a big Amazing Race activity. It was really fun! A lot of the girls said it was their favorite part of camp (which is great since I know the stake leaders put a ton of effort into it!) I loved watching the girls encourage and support each other throughout the morning. My station was a watermelon eating contest. Jenna was amazing at eating it. To be able to immediately go to the next station someone had to eat a quarter of a watermelon in 60 seconds. Jenna finished it easily within 60 seconds. There were only 2 others that finished in the time allotted (there were 12 groups total!) so it wasn't an easy task.
Having camp in June meant that it was too dry for fires. We did smores the last night.
The boys also went to young mens camp while Kenzie and I were at Girls' Camp. The only pictures I have, I store from Facebook. My boys didn't bring their phones so they don't have any. They had a lot of fun. They went to the temple and then back to Brother Mitchell's house, then home the first day. Then Wednesday they went to Game Farm Park where they feed animals from the inside of the car. The next day they went on a hike and swam in a lake. Coleman went on a shorter hike. Jackson and Jordan went on Stormking, which was a hard, somewhat scary trail. At one point there was a big drop on both sides of the trail. They both thought it was fun though. On Friday, they went to Fort Warden and explored the grounds and played capture the flag. Some kids found a firework there and lit it. Fortunately, no one was hurt! They also rode bikes around Fort Warden and the camp the slept at. Coleman crashed while riding down a steep rocky path on a mountain bike (which he's never used before; he's only ever used pedal brakes before.) He said he flipped over the handle bars. Then he told me he wasn't wearing a helmet. I'm so grateful he wasn't hurt worse! Saturday they packed up and came home. They got back to the stake center at the exact same time we got there from girls' camp.
While we were all away, Doug went to San Jose to work so he wouldn't have to be home all alone. We were happy to all be reunited again on Saturday :)
