Magic Kingdom Day 1

On Tuesday we went to Magic Kingdom.
We had to ride either a ferry or monorail to the park.

Cinderella's castle!

We first rode Space Mountain since Coleman loves it so much. Doug and the kids were stretching their legs on the bar.

We waited over an hour for the Dwarf ride.

I was going to take a picture of Doug and the kids when a lady offered to take it for us so I could be in it too. I said yes, then laughed when we looked at the picture and saw that my face was so shadowed that you barely notice I'm there.

We rode Aladdin's magic carpet ride.

Kenzie found some Mickey ears on the ground. They're a little broken, but she was happy to find them. She really really wanted us to buy her some. But I just couldn't spend $30 on something she wouldn't do anything with after the trip.

At then end of the day we decided we wanted to go to CiCi's again but realized we'd need to leave the park a little early to get there before it closed at 10. We left around 8:30 and had to wait at least 30 minutes to get on the monorail. Coleman was certain that we'd make it to CiCi's on time, but the rest of us weren't sure. We ended up getting there around 9:35 and had just enough time to eat enough pizza.

Magic Kingdom had some fun rides, but we waited in some very long lines. The Dwarf ride, Haunted Mansion, and Jungle Cruise were all over an hour. And the others rides almost always had at least a 30 minute wait time. We paid to get Disney Genie which allowed us to go in a fast lane, but it ended up not being worth it because you can only have one ride reserved at a time and the rides with the really long wait times couldn't be reserved until many hours later. There were a lot of rides we didn't have time to ride. And then we were all frustrated about the long wait time at the monorail. We decided they should have a way to walk to the parking lot and not have to take the monorail or ferry. And we all decided that although it was mostly a fun day, this was our least favorite day of the vacation.

Favorite rides of the day:
Coleman: Space Mountain
Kenzie: Monster Ink Laugh Floor
Jordan: Buzz
Jackson: Buzz
Doug: Thunder Mountain
Me: Pirates (even though it's not at good as the one at Disneyland) and Thunder Mountain Railroad and the Dwarf Ride

Animal Kingdom

On Monday we went to Animal Kingdom.
Coleman and Jackson waiting to go to the rides.

Doug and Jordan

Kenzie loved watching this tree lady. Can you find her?

We first went to the Avatar ride. The line was pretty long, but it got longer throughout the day so we thought we made a good choice. The ride was a lot of fun. The Pandora land was really cool looking.

We went on a rapids ride that left us all wet. Coleman, Jordan, and I went one it twice. everyone else was done with one. Kenzie and Jackson didn't even want to ride it. They never like those rides. After, we walked around to see some of the animals.

Coleman was always willing to pose for pictures.

I loved this tree.

We went on a safari ride that was really cool.

We saw lots of animals.

While we were on it, it started raining really hard (you can see the rain in the water). We were near the giraffes when it happened and they started running to try to get out of the rain. It was fun to see!

We also saw a cute baby hippo rolling around in the mud. Our driver told us that was the first day he was out.

There was also a little gorilla we saw when we were walking around.

We went to a petting zoo. Kenzie and Colie pet goats, pigs, and sheep.

We watched an animation show where we learned to draw Pumbaa.

We watched a really good Lion King show.

Doug and the kids by the cool tree.

The park closed at 7, so we decided to just eat a snack and then go to CiCi's Pizza Buffet for dinner. We went there Sunday for dinner and the kids loved it! We also went Tuesday and Friday. And the kids would have loved to go on Wednesday and Thursday. We really wish we had a pizza buffet around our house.

Everyone's favorite ride was the Avatar ride. Although we all really loved the safari too. I also liked a dinosaur ride that was a little like Indiana Jones at Disneyland.

Weekend in Florida

Yesterday we went to the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive. We saw a lot of alligators and birds and a couple turtles.

a long necked bird.

Sunday we played mini golf and shuffleboard at the resort we're staying at. We also watched church and football.

Kenzie and Coleman found a big frog outside.

Kennedy Space Center

On Friday we went to the Kennedy Space Center. It was really cool and we learned a lot.

The kids did a cosmic quest.

Jackson trying to solve problems so he can launch a rocket.

We took a bus over to another building to learn about the Saturn V and Apollo missions.

Coleman with the Atlantis.
