Arizona Days 5 and 6

The Kenyons left on Saturday evening. We had one last fun day with them.
We ate at a hamburger place for lunch.

Then we went to the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch.

We saw some little turtles swimming around.

That big goose hissed at Kenzie as she tried to pass it.

Sunday was my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. I looked through Grandma's picture albums and found lots of cute pictures of them :)

This was way before their wedding day! Grandma Carlson's parents: Nana and Papa with grandma's brother, Dick, and Grandma in 1931

My mom as a flower girl and one of her sister's wedding.

We finished this puzzle!

Grandma Carlson got out bowls, spoons, and cereal for us each night we were there so they would be ready for us in the morning.

Spring Training

The next day we went to the Mariner's Spring training game. It was so fun. I love sitting on the grass in sun watching baseball. The Mariners had a lot of night games, so this ended up being our only game. But it was fun!

Shell teaching Nati how to do the Cotton-Eye Joe dance.

Doug played cards with Coleman and Kenna.

We had Smores at Nancy's house. Yum!

Grandma Carlson and her baby :)

Phoenix Zoo

The next day Michelle and I took the kids to the Phoenix Zoo. It was so fun! I love zoos!
Jack and Kenna playing the piano before we left. We stayed at Grandma's house this time and the Kenyons stayed with Nancy. I thought it worked out well because they wake up so early that they were up and ready and over by the time (or often before) we were up. When we've slept at Nancy's it takes up much longer to get to Grandma's. Some of us aren't early risers...:)

This condor's wingspan was huge!

Jordan, Coleman, Jackson, Kenzie, Nati, and Kenna.

Snack break!

The zebras were so close.

The tree trunks were green!

Shell, Coleman, and the rhino.

A really cool part of the zoo was that we could go in the exhibit with little monkeys (maybe spider monkeys?) There weren't as many monkeys as I thought there would be. But it was still so fun to be in there with them.

They were pretending to be trees so the monkeys would land on them :)

This little guys was so close to us.

So cute!

The emu found us fascinating.

Goodbye zoo!

We went out for dinner and then headed to Nancy's for dessert and more family time.
