We originally planned on going to Yellowstone 2 days, but we decided the night before we went to just do one long day there instead. It was really cool to see everything! We'll see if I remember what things are :) We went on a Saturday and thought the crowds might be bad, but we've heard that every day is really crowded so going on a Saturday wouldn't be much different. It ended up being pretty empty. Traffic and parking were both fine. The disappointing thing was that we saw barely any animals. We were expecting huge herd of buffalo but we only saw a handful of them. We also only saw a couple of other animals too. We started the day really, really early (for us:)) We left by 7:00. We seemed to beat the crowds so I guess it was worth it :)
The first geyser we saw.
Coleman with some hot springs. These were so stinky from sulfur. It smelled like rotten eggs.

Wildlife! A well camouflaged chipmunk.
Michelle bought these cute cousins Friends Forever shirts.
So pretty!
The colors were really cool and interesting. I think they came from the bacteria that lived in them. So the color of the water would tell you how hot it was because different bacteria live in a different range of temperatures.

More geysers.
It was crazy how clear this water was.
Shell Spring
Darling and Bob (that's what they were calling each other:))
Waiting for Old Faithful
Still waiting...
Old Faithful!
It was so tall.
While we were waiting, the wind was blowing from the left toe right of us, but right before Old Faithful shot up water the wind started to blow towards us and so we saw a lot of the water vapor instead of just the water. It would have been better if we could have just seen the water.
A geyser behind Old Faithful.
Doug wanted me to zoom in on the geyser behind Old Faithful.

Coleman got a sliver :(
Grandpa helped him feel better.
Coleman didn't want to walk after his sliver, even though the sliver was in his finger.
It stormed for a while.
I think there's an animal in this picture...
And maybe in this picture too. When you don't see much life you don't have a lot of good picture to choose from :)
The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.
There were lots of pretty views!
They were nice to look at (as long as no one got too close to the edge, of course) but I didn't enjoy driving next to such big drop offs. Doug drove about half the day, then was almost falling asleep so I had to drive the second half of the day. It's a good thing one of us doesn't fall asleep easily :)
I wish I would have taken a picture of the name of everywhere we went so I could remember what everything was better:)
Kimber and Doug making shadow puppets.
This was going to be or last place, but it ended up being a couple mile long hike, and not enough people wanted to do it. It had been a long, but fun, day!
