Last Day of Baseball

For the boys' last practice they played against each other. Their coaches were friends, so even though they were in different age groups they wanted the teams to play together. It was a very slow moving game for the first inning because they did kid pitch. But then they switched to coach pitch and it was much better :)

Coleman

Even though the last day of games was on July 1st, it was a bit chilly. We were all wearing jackets and Coleman even wore his coat.

Kenzie and Jordan

Jordan kept score for some of the game.

Jackson catching.

Jackson batting. This was the first time I saw him bat right handed this year. I think he did bat right handed one other time, when I was garage sale shopping at Lakeland Hills.

Jackson getting his trophy. His coach told us that Jackson is a natural when it comes to catching. He knew what to do without having to be told. He told Jack to keep on catching. Jackson loves it so I'm sure he will.

Jackson's team.

Jordan.

Jack loved keeping score at every game.

Jordan getting his award. He was the first one called up so I was a little late getting the picture. His coach said he was quiet at the beginning of the season and the coach wasn't sure what to expect from him, but that he turned out to be a solid player. Jordan loves playing short stop and second base. Baseball is still his favorite sport to play.

Coleman's Birthday Activity

Coleman wanted to go to the "new" (Tacoma) Chuck E. Cheese. For his birthday activity.

Kenzie
She wearing a shirt she got a soccer skills class she took in May. It looks like I didn't get any pictures of her doing it, but I thought for sure I did. She had a lot of fun at it :)

Sandy Valley Days 6 & 7

We had a couple days with Grandma before heading home after the reunion.
We went bowling.

Kenzie had a higher score than Doug (in the first round:)) and was pretty excited so we took a picture.

Jordan bowled his first strike without bumpers! This was taken right after.

I spent some time looking through the photo albums. I found some cute pictures of Doug as a little boy. (At least I'm pretty sure they are Doug :))

Doug

There were a couple mice (or maybe a mouse and a rat, the second one was huge!) running through grandma's house at night since her cat, Spot, died.  They would come out at night and snack on whatever they could find in the kitchen so we had to put the food in cupboards, the oven, and the dishwasher. Doug caught the little mouse in a mousetrap one of the first couple nights, but the big mouse-rat was still there. Then on the last day he came out during the day and ran into the kitchen, then ran behind the oven when Doug came to get him. He then ran behind the cupboard and into a tiny hole under the cupboard. We could get to him unless we tore apart the cupboard. So Doug left a sticky trap in front of the only way out from behind the cupboard and left it there. This was on out last day and we had to leave to catch out flight. The mouse-rat got stuck there I think that night and poor grandma had to take care of it the next day. She has a new cat now, and so I think she doesn't have any more mice problems in her house!

Everyone looking for the moues-rat.
