We loved spending time in Sandy Valley! It's always great to see Grandma Dance and we really enjoyed the sunshine and playing outside.
Kenzie was so excited to see Spot. Grandma gave her a brush to use to brush Spot's fur.
Jackson built this.
Jordan scraped the ground with this shovel.
Jordan was excited to find a pick axe, like they use in Mine Craft.
We burned some garbage.
Coleman helped Grandma with the wheelbarrow.
Jordan spent a lot of time "mining."
Jackson spent a lot of time playing football with whoever he could convince to play with him.
Doug and Jackson had a contest to see who could eat the chili powder covered corn on the cob sucker the longest. Doug lasted the longest :)
It was too hot for Jackson.
He makes this pouty face a lot when he's pretending to be sad.
Coleman played lots of games. He played Go Fish and Spot It the most.
Kenzie helped Grandma make some pie. Jackson helped her a lot too, but I didn't get a picture of it.
Kenzie spent a lot of time reading. She started reading the Baby Sitter's Little Sister books, which I read when I was little. It's fun having her read the same series I read when I was her age :)
Tyler's family came Wednesday night and we had a great Thanksgiving together. I didn't get any pictures of Thanksgiving, but we had a fun day of cooking, football, games, and eating.
Friday we went to Red Rock with Grandma, Tyler's family, and we met Randy, Donna, Shayla, and Toria there too. After Red Rock we went to Cafe Rio for lunch. Toria'a husband Manny met us there too. We went to Randy and Donna's house for little bit after lunch.
It was hard to get a picture of them with Red Rock behind. It was very bright outside and dark inside.
It was very bright :)
Kenzie the egg.
We did a hike that was supposed to be easy, but we somehow got off the trail and got a little lost. We ended up walking along the road to get back to the car. I learned that flip flop on a desert hike isn't the greatest idea because you might get a sliver in your foot.
We played games for a little bit at Grandma's house.
Kenzie and Lila.
Avery, Tyler, Gracie, Lila, Rose
Grandma and the kids. Coleman's face was so red from it being so dry. Plus, he has had a bad habit of putting his blanket and sleeves in his mouth.
Grandma and all the grandkids that were there.
We left that night to go home. We drove to Bakersfield that night and then drove to Eugene Oregon on Saturday, then home on Sunday. The kids had a rough time in the car Saturday afternoon and at one point I was hit by a flying flip flop... Doug is now convinced he doesn't want to do another road trip ever again. Hopefully he changes his mind eventually so we can do a cross country road trip someday :) It was such a fun vacation!
