Hawaii Day 4

This morning Doug and my dad golfed. The Kenyons except Nati, and the Crabtrees except Ash and Cam went horseback riding. The rest of us had a lazy morning and the headed to Turtle Bay to swim. It's a calm beach and my kids loved it! We stayed there until about 4:30. The golfers and horseback riders joined us after they were done with their activity. I forgot my camera at home and Michelle brought it to me when they came, so I don't have any pictures of the first half of our beach day.
 Nati, Sam, Kenna

Nati like to try to not smile for me in pictures so I have to sneak them in:)

Kenzie, Jack, and Colie spent almost the whole day in the water. Coleman didn't come out for lunch until about 3. At that point he decided he was done swimming.

 Nati

 She finally smiled for me!

Jack loved snorkeling! He spent a lot of time searching for fish. He saw several he had never seen before, not even in a picture. And he saw some plants he'd never seen before. He wants to get an underwater camera to take pictures of all the cool things he's finding.

Mackenzie swam without her life jacket a lot. She can swim well, but she doesn't really have the confidence to to do it outside of swim lessons. But with the pretty calm, shallow water, she wanted it off.

Jordan played in the sand, swam, and tried snorkeling. He had kind of hard time snorkeling. The water got in his mouth a few times plus he's not very confident in his swimming so he gets nervous out in the water sometimes. He and I spent the first while trying to dig a deep hole, but the water kept coming in and wrecking it. The dry sand was way too hot to play in so we had to do it close to the water. We tried building a big wall to protect the hole, but eventually a bigger wave came in and ruined it.

Coleman was happy just floating around with his life jacket on by himself. The last couple days he didn't want to go in at all without us.

 Kenzie and Nati were buried.

 Sam and Kenna buried them.

 Kenzie loves wearing goggles.

 Kenzie boogie boarding.

 Coleman floating in a floatie.

Alli, Ash, Kimber, Shell, Colie, Kenzie

Cam with her goggles. She's wearing Kenzie's old swimsuit. A swimsuit Kenzie wore the last time we were in Hawaii.

Hawaii Day 3

This morning we hiked to Manoa Falls. Doug, the kids, and I did it last time we in Hawaii, but there wasn't much falls then. There was much more water this time and even a pool at the bottom of the falls we could swim in.
The start of the hike. Everyone is clean and happy.

A guy finishing his hike gave us a walking stick. Jordan used it for awhile, but then said it was too tiring.

Coleman walked the whole thing! That was a first for him. He walked with Doug the whole time and told Doug they are super friends and infinity friends :)

I walked with this cute girl the whole time.

Her legs were very tired on the way up and she said she wished we brought something to carry her in. But she said her legs weren't tired at all the whole way down because they were getting stronger.

Jack thought the water was too cold to swim in. He just got in a little bit.

 Kenna

Colie liked playing in the water too.

I think Kimber was the only one that thought the water was warm.

Kimber convinced Kenzie to go close to the waterfall with her.

 The Kenyons

 Nati, Richard, Shell, Kenna

After this picture Richard realized his keys were gone. He had put them on his shirt, but his shirt had been moved and his keys were gone. We looked all over and couldn't find them. He ended up having to wait in the parking lot for a tow truck to take the car to the rental place and then got a new car. Not fun :(

We all ended up a little muddy from the hike back down.

Next we headed to Waikiki. I didn't get many picture because I spent most of the afternoon in the water with Coleman. He doesn't like to go in by himself.
 The grass sitters.

The beach players digging a bath tub.

Jackson spent most of the afternoon in the water today.

 Jackson and Grandpa.

Doug took a little nap.

For dinner we went to Cheeseburger in Paradise. Jordan wanted a cheeseburger, but was worried there would be something he didn't like on it. When ordering he asked the waitress what was on it, and then decided he did want one. Then she asked if he wanted fruit or fries. He asked what kind of fruit there was. She told him it was mixed fruit and then name some that were in it. He asked if there were apples. She said no. So he got fries. It was funny :)

Hawaii Day 2

This is how the kids slept last night. Jackson, Kenzie, and Coleman slept in the same bed.

Jordan slept in the closet. All the kids wanted to sleep in the closet... They're going to take turns each night :)

We woke up bright and early today. The kids must have thought we were still in Washington and woke up by 6. Coleman was awake a long time before 6, and I'm not sure if he went back to sleep after. He was pretty tired today. Everyone was up and ready y 9 or 9:30 so we headed to one of our favorite beaches: Hukilau!

 Ash, my mom, my dad.

 Doug and Colie

Cam still hates the water, but she likes the sand now.

 Kenzie loved swimming with Shell.

Nati, Jordan, and Sam. They dug a huge hole.

Jordan, Kimber, Alli, Shell, Jack, Kenzie

 Jackson riding a wave.

 It's such a beautiful place!

He hates the sun in his eyes.

 Snack time!

She was so upset she couldn't get all the sand off of her, especially her hands since she was eating.

Hiding his eyes from the sun.

 Richard and Michelle

 Jordan

Kimber, Grandma, Sam, Nati.

Coleman loves playing in the water!

 Nati and Jordan

Michelle and Cam built Elsa's castle.

After lunch we went to Matsumoto's for some shave ice. Coleman was so tired he wanted to stay home and nap (which he never does,) He kept going in the bedroom and laying on the bed. He took a power nap in the car and felt much better afterwards :)

 Jordan and Jack

 Kenzie and Kenna

Kenzie wanted me to take another picture. Being trapped in a snow cone is scary!

 Alli, Coleman, and Shell

 Kenna

 Alli

Enjoying our shave ice! So yummy!

Grandpa was looking for tables during the group shot so he got a solo one. He refused to smile for it though...

This one chose some Munchies instead of a snow cone. We were happy they had some chip options for him.

Coleman was proud of his cool sand castle. It's hard to see in this picture, but it's there in front of him.

After Matsumoto's we went to Malaekahana State park near Hukilau.
The kids loved playing in the waves.

Kenzie tried to keep Jordan from being able to ride the boogie board by sitting on it.

Coleman loved sliding down this tiny hill.

 Me and Kenzie

 Sam lost her body.

Jordan and Kenna helped bury it.

Then the kids (Jackson in this picture) started jumping on her. She said she couldn't even feel it.

Michelle and Grandpa swam with Kenzie and Colie for a long time. Michelle said she kept asking Colie if he was ready and he always said no.

 Doug, Richard, Konrad.

I tried to get a picture of Shell and Nati, but Nati said she doesn't like to get her picture taken.

After hamburgers and hot dogs we had family home evening and then the kids went to bed! We are all tuckered out from our fun day!
